Sandals Montego bay

Advantages: Sandals in genuinely "All Inclusive", and oozes quality
Disadvantages: Jamaica seems festooned with hustlers

...I went to Sandals Montego Bay for 2 weeks in August 1997 for my honeymoon. It seemed pricey at first glance (it was about 3400 ukp for us both) but this turned out to be pretty good value for money. The food was excellent, there were at least 5 restaurants to choose from including a Chinese, an Italian and an A La Carte, all at least four courses. You could also pop along to Sandals Royal Jamaican or Sandals Inn for a change. Sandals Royal Jamaican has an excellent Indonesian restaurant you have to get to in a "traditional" Balinese boat, but it's well worth the effort. All of the staff did their best to give you a good holiday and the activities were enjoyable, though you weren't forced to join in. Mo bay

Advantages: Clean, Tidy
Disadvantages: Staff not very friendly

...My father lives in Jamaica so i go out to visit him every other year or two. I love travelling and i enjoy being on a areoplane i have to admit the only thing i do dreed about the whole travelling experience is landing at Montego Bay airport after a 9 hour flight. Yes i'm more than thankful to have my feet on the ground and to have finally reached my destination but i find the whole process of going through the airport a nightmare. You'd think i would have got use to it the amount of times i done it but last years visit was the worse. I flew out with my two small children , partner. my mum my brother, his girlfriend and little boy. Advantages: tasty addition to stews and cassorole
Disadvantages: maybe to strong for your taste

...Bay is an everygreen herb which grows like a shrub, it can be grown in open spaces or in tubs. The flowers of the bay are yellow and it will flower in may. The best way to get a bay plant is to buy one from a garden centre for around 99p depending on the size. I also like to get my herbs from bootsales where you can pick them up from 25p so saves money. When your bay plant is well established in the pot re-plant it outside. It likes to be in a sunny but shaded place in the garden. They may die off in the winter but should throw new shoots during the following spring. Bay is a native to the east mediterranean but have been grown in europe for years. Nice tan, shame about the nervous breakdown!

Advantages: Weather, beach and the food!
Disadvantages: Airport, roads and COST!

...the Caribbean and it's Capitol is Kingston (South East of the island, fairly central). Montego Bay is located on the North of the island, and is also where the airport is situated. Righto, here's the nitty gritty: The airport has no air conditioning, so beware both arriving and departing! (believe me, with hundreds of other passengers squashed into the airport when we were leaving, it was NOT for the faint hearted!) On arrival, the airport staff take a very long time, to check your entry visas before letting you go on your merry way. Now, I KNOW the general ethos of Jamaica is 'No Problem' and the attitiude is very laid back, but after a 10 hour flight, sitting rigid in a space no larger than a cardboard BOX, I don't really appreciate laid backness!!! All You Need is Love......and Royal Treatment

...Anybody who has been lucky enough to go to Jamaica will be familiar with this saying, it seems to be the Jamaicans national catch phrase, and you know what? It’s usually true, nothing was too much trouble for the majority of Jamaicans we met when we stayed at the Sunset Beach Resort in Montego Bay. BAY TRADING

Advantages: Great quality, styles and prices

...Well the answer to my title is quite simple, um.... cash for clothes and accessories and in this case DECENT, GOOD QUALITY Bay Trading items, sorry about the dodgy title but I couldn't really think of anything else! I've only really noticed Bay Trading in my local town centre recently, I've only just started shopping there too so her goes my opinion on the shop itself. The store itself is relatively small but have been in bigger branches, with racks down the sides of the small, thin, long store and 1 single rack all the way down the middle of the store, things can get a little cramped. When loads of people are in the tiny store all at once, things can get a litte out of hand. Luckily the store uses the floor above it too for the changing rooms. The changing rooms are great with a big communal area and then 2 smaller changing rooms...

This holiday was a totally new experience, when booking our holiday we decided we wanted to go a bit further a field and after looking through piles of travel brochures decided on Montego Bay, Jamaica. ...Sea. When we arrived at the airport, we had no idea in which resort we would be staying, but we were lucky as we found ourselves booked in at the Seawinds complex in Montego Bay. It was a little off the beaten track but ideally situated for a quiet, relaxing holiday, with its own restaurants, swimming pools and private beaches, including a nudist beach for those wishing to get an all-over tan! Our rooms were on the 9th floor with superb views over the harbour and beaches and we were able to see the visiting cruise ships, an impressive sight when lit overall at night.
