...After purchasing an 8 month old rescue dog call Ruby (labrador/collie cross) we decided we should be responsible and take out pet insurance. After searching many websites we settled for More Than as this seemed to be the cheapest. I completed an online form and the company contacted me shortly after. The customer service was excellent (although they were trying to sell something so it would be). A few days later we reeceived the paperwork along with a blank claim form. Our cover cost £7.99 a month. Our excess was £70. In July this year out dog got a very nasty cut on her back leg. We took her to the vets who advised an operation which cost just over £200. Advantages: none
Disadvantages: excess is 10% of bill + £70!

...A week ago I took out home insurance with More Than, after I said yes to the quote- the lady asked me if I wanted any other quotes on insurance- I said none are up for renewal yet- she said I'd menioned I have a dog- and did I want a quote on that- it won't do any harm? I said ok- I guess I can cancel with my exsisting insurer. The cover was the same as the cover I currently had- but the have a new service- a 24 hour call centre- to get free pet advice from a qualified vet/nurse. Also the cost was a few £'s cheaper per month, the excess was £70 which is standard on all pet insurance policies- for dogs. I said- ok, I will take that cover, which is there top of the line one. I cancelled my direct debit with the current insurer... A week on- no documents had arrived- I called them- and they told me they only send things out...

More Than Car Insurance - make a claim at your own peril

Disadvantages: Interrogational questioning - should you ever need to make a claim. Not for the faint hearted

...Unfortunately our car was damaged by another car whilst we were stationary, waiting to pull away from a junction. We duly reported the accident to More Than Insurance and have regretted doing so ever since. Since informing them of the accident two months ago we have been interviewed on the phone twice by a very aggresive style by a young woman who would put the xxxxx to shame. You are made to feel as though you are guilty - but all we did was claim on our car insurance. More Than Home Insurance.

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Hopefully there won't be any....

...Home insurance really is one of those things that everyone hates having to pay for..... but of course it's 100% necessary and you don't want to get stuck without it. Morethan Car Insurance. Cheap but not Cheerful :(

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Not UK call centre when making a claim and very unprofesional staff.

You search them all and insure with the cheapest, and in this case More Than was the cheapest which was fine because I had saved some money. All was well until one day someone crashed into the rear of my daughter's car pushing her into someone else. The car was not driveable so we had to arrange a courtesy car, the advert says you only have to wait 2 hours , we got one the next day. Anyway that was not the main problem. Advantages: Ease of use, Fast Response.
Disadvantages: Not the Cheapest Insurance.

...When I adopted my rescue dogs from a dogs home, I took on all the responsibilities that came with the package, looking after, feeding, grooming and of course Insuring them. After the initial free insurance the home provided ran out, I had to ask myself what sort of cover I would need for the future. As my dogs were rescues, I was aware that they were probably more susceptable to poor immunities and illnesses, as well as poor behaviour. This proved to be the case with the one dog more than the other. He become quite intolerant of strangers and unfortunately is a liability somewhat. On discovering this over the honeymoon period, I knew it was a necessary thing to find a cover for him in particular, that would suit him and my piece of mind. Advantages: Huge Range Of Services, Value For Money, Great Service
Disadvantages: None At All

As well as accessing any details of current policies you may have, or even obtain further quotes on other Direct Line products without having to re-enter all of your details again and again. If you wish to do this and already have a policy with them just click the register link and follow the instructions and when your pass word arrives through the post from them you will be able to see and manage the details of your current policy.
