Easy Dough!!
Review of Cookworks XBM1038 by
warmstrong
Advantages: Fresh Bread whenever you want
Disadvantages: None
...We had, until two days ago, a Morphy Richards 4825 breadmaker. It had given stirling results over the past 3 years or so making a least two loaves a week until the heating element went. Looking for a replacement I searched all the usual shops - both online and locally and eventually found the Cookworks XBM1038 in Argos at £23.99. This machine bears an uncanny resemblance to the Morphy Richards 4825 and based on this we went and bought one. On opening the box we found that indeed, with a few exceptions the unit appeared to be a re-badged Morphy Richards. It has a couple of extra functions (called Ultra Fast) over the Morphy Richards 4825 and slight cosmetic changes. It works as good as my old unit and produces just as good bread and the Ultra Fast - if you follow the instructions - gives reasonably good results. Unlike the Morphy...

It blow up!
Review of Morphy Richards 44270 by
jo1l
Advantages: quick toast
Disadvantages: it blow up!
...When my old faithfull toaster finally went to toaster heaven I bought the Morphy Richards coolstyle toaster mainley due to the jazzy colours - they come in a bright blue, yellow and lime green. I only had it for 3 months and bang! - No more toast for me! In the 3 months that I was a proud owner of a lime green toaster it really did do good toast ie not over cooked and at an incredible speed. it is a reasonable priced toaster but not that reasonable priced for the three months i had it! I settled on a boring replacement ie not a jazzy colour! dont be taken in by looks! Get a toaster that really lasts....

Morphy Richards 43120 Glas glass breaks easily
Review of Morphy Richards 43120 GLAS by
adictivepie
Advantages: Looks, Quick Boil, Brand
Disadvantages: Filling, Pouring, Quality, Dangerous
...We purchased this kettle a little over 2 years ago and until it broke gave us many problems. Although it looked great it was a horrible kettle to use
Morphy Richards is a well respected name (purchased a morphy richards manhattan now) in the small home electrical market and from the out look this kettle is another good one, but how wrong we were.
Morphy Richards have sacrificed functionality for design and style on the 43120 glas an ilumina kettles
Dont get me wrong the kettle served us well, looked great with its black handle/brushed chrome and glass body it really looks a great it of kit and boiled quickly is an understatement. the 360 degree rotating base is great for lefties and righties. So what am I going on about you are thinking
The design is great for sitting on the kitchen work surface but it is difficult to fill as the push...

Filter Rapide - cheap but not in price!
Review of Morphy Richards 43552 by
thevicar
Advantages: Filter and boil at the same time
Disadvantages: Poor build quality and design, low capacity
...I paid £44.90 for this filter ketttle and have exchanged it three times in under six months. This is a filter kettle not with just the mesh filter at the spout but one of the new kind that has a water filter cartridge and has the kettle split into a lower and upper section, and the water filters from the top compartment to the bottom compartment through this filter to remove impurities and give a better tasting tea or coffee. It basically replaces the need to have a seperate water filter jug to then pour filtered water into a seperate kettle.
The Morphy Richards is capable of filtering and boiling the water at the same time, but can only boil a 1.0 litre capacity. Since I had so much trouble with the Morphy Richards, I paid an extra £5 and changed it for the Brita Acclario Premium Graphite Model S1915. I can compare the two to help...

Good bread at a great savings
Review of Morphy Richards 48220WH by
buzzy
Advantages: Excellent value, variety of breads you can make
Disadvantages: Nothing I can think of...
...You see a lot of breadmakers on the market today- some that cost over £100. I bought my Morphy Richards for £34 at Trago Mills and have not been sorry. I'm not a kitchen person by any stretch of the imagination but have found that baking bread is a snap. You throw together the ingredients (the breadmaker comes with a measuring spoon and measuring cup so you can't get the measurements wrong) depending on the recipe and approximately 3 hours later you have a house smelling of fresh bread.
Other nice features on the Morphy Richards is the timer so you can delay the time that you make it (ie set it so it is ready when you wake up in the morning). You can also make jam with it (though I haven't ventured to try that yet) and a variety of other breads like croissants, donuts, bagels, french sticks, which require a bit more effort (ie taking...

Good solid iron giving effortless ironing.
Review of Morphy Richards 40705 Comfi-GRIP PRO by
Pauly3
Advantages: Solid unit allowing effortless ironing
Disadvantages: Water level difficult to check
...I have had a Morphy Richards iron prior to this one so you might guess that I am generally pleased with the make.
I hate ironing so a good iron that makes ironing easy is important to me. I purposely looked for an iron in this price range to ensure that it would be a decent unit, and I am not dissapointed.
I bought the iron on special offer from Argos. It is a good solid heavy iron, but not too heavy to use comfortably (I am only 58Kg and 5'3"). I find that a heavy iron gives a better result and makes the ironing less effort.
It is easy to use, with nossles for additional sprays. I found the normal steam function gave plenty enough steam to iron normal creases. Very easy to maintain with a single spray of the steam vertical spray nossle keeping the iron surface clean.
My only critisism is that the water level is hard to check due...

Water everywhere but not a drop in the cup
Review of Morphy Richards Filtermaster by
Scazzer
Advantages: nice colour, boiled quickly and had a good capacity
Disadvantages: leaked everywhere
...I had to buy a new kettle as the old one was looking like it was fresh out of the Ark.
I decided on the Morphy Richards Filtermaster Cordless Jug, because of the 1.5 litres capacity and the fact that it was cordless meant it was safer to use with children in the house.
Well, I used it the first time and it dripped and leaked water everywhere but in the cup.
I tried resting the spout of the kettle directly on the edge of the cup, but it still ran down the kettle and onto the work surface. I was really disappointed as there was hot water everywhere each time I used it.
I took it back and told the shop about the problem and they thought that there must be a hairline cut in the spout of the kettle causing it to leak, and gave me a replacement.
I used it as soon as I got in, and yes it happened again.
I took it straight back and complained...

Shiny Chrome Toaster
Review of Morphy Richards 44420 Manhattan Chrome by
Surj1
Advantages: Stylish Design, Browning Control, Cancel Button, Removable Tray & Bun Warmer
Disadvantages: Only 2 Slice
...The Morphy Richards 44420 chrome toaster is small but very stylish. I purchased this toaster a few years ago and still occasionally use it.
The design of the toaster is very eye catching and is obviously the first thing anyone would notice. It's a polished steel chrome toaster and would definitely fit perfectly in any kitchen. This is the kind of toaster you would leave out all the time because it looks to good rather than hiding it away in the cupboard when not in use.
Main features:
- 2 slice chambers
- Electronic variable browning control
- Hi-lift facility for removing smaller items
- Countdown facility, to let you know how long you have to wait
- Cancel button if you're impatient or you put it on the wrong setting and realised your toast is now burning.
- Removable crumb tray
- Bun warming rack
- Cord storage.
Overall...

Great breadmaker!
Review of Morphy Richards 48268 by
WifeAndMum
Advantages: Easy to use, good directions, great price.
Disadvantages: None.
...My husband bought me this breadmaker for Christmas and it's brilliant! It makes perfect loaves with no faffing around. I was worried that it would take me a while to get it right, but as long as you follow the recipes it's fine. I'm sure a more experienced operator could experiment a bit but I'm happy to stick to the basics! The only negative point on the other reviews was that the paddle can sometimes come out in the bread. I haven't had this happen yet but I don't think it would matter much anyway. The dropdown paddle is great as it only leaves a hole in the crust at the end of the bread, not in the middle. You just need to keep an eye on it as you add the ingredients in case it falls flat. Overall, a big thumbs up to Morphy Richards and to my husband for making a good choice!!...
