...Morphy Richards 43121 Illuma Kettle Blue and Stainless Steel With a new fitted kitchen just installed my tatty old kettle and toaster looked really out of place! I decided I wanted a kettle that: • Had a 360 degree base - for ease of placing the kettle onto the base • Illuminated when on • Had a concealed element • Was finished in a brushed or stainless steel finish • Had a matching toaster in the range • Was under £50 • Is made by a well known brand • And of course it must look good! I choose the Morphy Richards 43121 as it fitted ALL of my requirements and looked fantastic in the picture on the box. I purchased the kettle at Sainsburys where it had been reduced from £50 to £33. ...After seaching high and low we settled on the Morphy Richards Manhattan Kettle to replace our other Morphy Richards Kettle 43120 Glass Please read the review on the 43120 when i post is as it is a dangerous kettle Anyway back to the new Manhattan The kettle is finished in a highly polished shiney chrome which actually resists finger prints very well so it stays cleaner. It gives the appearance of being very tall and slim and in the shop it looked a bit odd but when we got it home it fitted in so well. It has a double cool wall and for those who are worrined as it is metal and conducting heat from the water don't. Yes its gets warm but not hot enough to scold if you accidently touch it. When the kettle is put on to boil there is a funky blue light which lights up the water level indicator on both sides. One draw back... Read review

...Having always bought basic, cheaper, yet practical kettles previously, when my last kettle gave up the ghost, I opted for a more expensive and popular brand. Morphy Richards is a well-known, long established company with many appliances attached to their name, so as I took myself off to the local hardware store, I had an idea which brand and what my next purchase would be. Firstly, I checked out the price of the kettle, but at just around £40.00, I did wonder whether I was being a little too extravagant with my spending! Once again, I perused the cheaper brands and I have to say, I was tempted to buy one. However, on checking out the Morphy Richards 43139 again, I thought it's 'olde worlde' style gave the appliance a touch of class; so on that, and it's water holding capacity, I finally made my decision. ...We purchased this kettle a little over 2 years ago and until it broke gave us many problems. Although it looked great it was a horrible kettle to use Morphy Richards is a well respected name (purchased a morphy richards manhattan now) in the small home electrical market and from the out look this kettle is another good one, but how wrong we were. Morphy Richards have sacrificed functionality for design and style on the 43120 glas an ilumina kettles Dont get me wrong the kettle served us well, looked great with its black handle/brushed chrome and glass body it really looks a great it of kit and boiled quickly is an understatement. the 360 degree rotating base is great for lefties and righties. ...i recently purchased this kettle from a weekly market - DON'T - filter section of the kettle was missing. Morphy Richards can only suply replacement filters or counter cartridge. This kettle filters the water very quickly - much quicker that another well known brand I have tried at work. If you fill the kettle by swivelling the see-through section of the lid (without opening the lid) you can visually see how much water to put in.  Quick to filter and equally quick to boil. I found that this kettle is excellent value for money - Due to the missing part i contacted Morphy Richards direct via email and received an email in return that offered me a replacement fully working kettle for a discount price and bought one for £20.00!!!
