Reviews of morphy richards slow cooker
Slowly does it
Review of Morphy Richards Slow Cooker by
Lizard_Lover
Advantages: Ideal for cooking stews, casseroles, joints of meat
Disadvantages: Need to brown things before slow cooking
...Slow cookers are a great way of cooking food if you are going to be away from home for a long period in the day. Even though I work from home I still use ours on at least a weekly basis as I find that the meat when cooked in it is much more tender and tastier.
Although I had used slow cookers in the past, my old model was slowly gathering dust on top of the cupboard, and last Christmas I received a Morphy Richards Slow Cooker as a present from my mother in law, but it retails at £34.95 in Argos and can be purchased online or in the shop.
The slow cooker is very large, with a 6.5 litre capacity and is silver in colour and oval in shape. When I opened the box I thought that the size was a little large for a family of four, and had I purchased one myself I would have probably selected a smaller model. However, on reading the instructions...

Slow and Tender Mmmmmmmm!!!!
Review of Morphy Richards Slow Cooker by
iloveshoping
Advantages: Prepare meal in advance, tender meat, safe to go out and leave it cooking.
Disadvantages: Absolutely None!
...This is an absolute must have for everyone! The best thing I have ever bought.
I purchased this slow cooker 3 years ago now and I could not be without it. It is the ideal thing if you are working all day, or going out for the day. You put in on in the morning on slow and when you get in it is all done for you ready to dish up. I am a mum of 2 and I find that I use this 2 or 3 times a week, an asset when I have to trail around football training grounds for 5pm!!!!!!
There are 2 sizes that Morphy Richards supply in this slow cooker range.
6.5 litre with a maximum working capacity of 4.5 litres.
3.5 litre with a maximum working capacity of 2.5 litres.
I have the bigger one as I find that in a family of four I need it but my friend has the smaller one and she has a family of five and it is fine for her.
This slow cooker has a ceramic...

Morphy Richards 48715 S/Steel Oval SlowCooker 6.5L
Review of Morphy Richards 48715 by
mikenewborn
Advantages: Large Volume, 3 Temp Settings, Nice Aesthetics and Design
Disadvantages: A few stipulations regarding foods that can be cooked and how to use the cooker, although these are general to Slow Cookers and not this model alone
...This cooker comprises of a nice stainless steel outer shell, a big / heavy, sturdy ceramic inner pot and a toughened glass lid. Would tie in nicely if you have stainless steel / chrome appliances.
The removable ceramic pot has a capacity to 6.5ltr to the brim, with a recommended working capacity of 4.5ltr, plenty big enough to feed 4-6 people. The pot is dishwasher safe and can easily be transported to the table for serving.
The cooker is of an oval shape, rather than round, which allows you to cook joints of meat
The cooker has handles which don't conduct heat so the unit can be moved (for whatever reason) during cooking without burning yourself.
The lid is made from toughened glass, so you can monitor the food during cooking.
The reason I bought a slow cooker was so I could make some tasty meals, with little to no effort...

The best kitchen gadget I've ever had
Review of Morphy Richards Slow Cooker by
LeopardLili
Advantages: Good looking, works well, saves you money
Disadvantages: plastic cracked on knob over time
...This was a bit of an impulse buy. I'd often thought that a slow cooker would be a useful addition to the kitchen but I had absolutely no idea how indispensible this would become.
There are two sizes, 3.5l and 6.5l. I have the smaller one and there is more than enough capacity in there for a meal for my family of four and occasionally there are leftovers. There are three heat settings, high, medium and low but I tend to use the lowest setting. The slowcooker comes with a useful recipe book and instructions but most recipes can be adapted for slow cooking and most are better for it.
My use of this cooker really took off when I found that I could 'roast' a chicken or a shoulder of lamb in it with only a little water in the bottom. Coming home to a 'roast' chicken - fantastic! You can get spectular results by rubbing dry salt...

Slow but worth it
Review of Morphy Richards Slow Cooker by
Wearsidelass
Advantages: Hot tasty meals without much effort
Disadvantages: Possible weight gain with so much good food
...A few days ago I went to Tescos and bought a Morphy Richards slow cooker for the excellent price of £19.99! It is a 3.5 litre cooker with a maximum working capacity of 2.5 litres (enough for a family of 3/4).
It is oval in shape and is chrome/black in colour - very elegant looking indeed. It has 3 settings, low, medium and high.
I bought this because I work full-time and I do not have time to cook a "proper" dinner in the evening - too tired out from work!
Now, when I come home I can instantly smell the dinner which has cooked and it is such a welcoming smell.
Slow cooking is the best way to prepare a nutritious hot meal with the minimum of preparation. You can cook various types of meals in the cooker - there are several recipes for you to try out in the instruction booklet.
Most foods are suitable for slow cooking apart from...

even kids like this
Review of Morphy Richards Slow Cooker by
kcjack
Advantages: easy peasy
Disadvantages: none as yet
...What is it?
A Morphy Richards slow cooker is one of those things modern woman should not be without like the vibrator these things are indispensible.
They come in 2 sizes 6.5 litre with a maximum working capacity of 4.5 litres and a 3.5 litre one with maximum working capacity of 2.5 litres.
The slow cooker consists of ceramic crock pot, glass lid, base, control knob and power indicator.
I had a good look around for a slow cooker before i bought one and found these morphy richard ones only came in stainless steal but i suppose that is not a huge problem.
How does it work?
Slow cooking food has always been the best and easiest way to prepare and cook a nutritious meal with minimum fuss. This is quite an old fashioned way of cooking but once you cook in a slow cooker you can see why they have stood the test of time. Generally slow...

Cookin' Is No Longer a Chore!
Review of Morphy Richards Slow Cooker by
1lentz
Advantages: Good size, 3 simply settings, accommodates family size meals
Disadvantages: You have to think ahead with prep time in the morning.
...and Cheese, Porridge, Puddings, Soups, and even Vegetarian meals. There are so many recipes available on the internet and there are even loads of Slow Cooker Cookbooks available!
Due to a recent move and a missing slow cooker, we were in need of another. We went into the town centre and found a shop that sold small kitchen appliances. They happened to have a Morphy Richards Slow Cooker CE on sale. I have had this one before and knew that it was an excellent slow cooker. We couldn't find one of the large ones with the rest of the small size slow cookers so we went to the lady in front and asked if there were anymore available. The price is normally £34.95 but they were on sale for £24.95.
"We have one in the front on display," she told us. We asked where it was and wouldn't you know it - it was in the very front part of the window...

What A Disaster!
Review of Morphy Richards 43693 by
shaaza
Advantages: boils water quickly, has a filter
Disadvantages: very huge, very expensive, not 100% silent
...was ridiculous for a kettle but on the other hand it wasn't me paying so I couldn't care less. However, because I've now had experience with the kettle I really do think it is a waste of money. The kettle does have a matching slow cooker which is rather cheap, only being sold at £15 in currys. I and my mum could have bought the kettle cheaper on Amazon for £35 but because we were buying the matching toaster which decided to buy them both on the same.
How to Use
Using the kettle is rather easy, unlike most kettles with the Morphy Richards 43693 there is no need of removing (opening) the lead when filling the kettle with water. All you have to do is run the water through the spout The spout is not that huge, therefore filling the water can be annoying as you have to run the tap at a low pressure.
The kettle does have a water level indicator...

Just Slow Cooking!
Review of Morphy Richards 48715 Round S/COOK by
Shroud
Advantages: little fuss, easy prep, tenderises tough meat, very versatile
Disadvantages: not cool wall, requires a small amount of advance planning
...chocolate cakes and more. The possibilities are surprising for such a small and unassuming gadget! For ideas of what is available, you can visit Amazon’s cookbook section using slow cooker as a search term, my own Budget Meals site, and Justslowcooking.com’s extensive free library of slow cooker recipes in addition to literally hundreds of pages of recipes found by Googling the term CROCK POT RECIPES.
~~~~What makes this one special?~~~~
Morphy Richards is a fairly well known and generally reputable quality brand, and when on the lookout for a large oval replacement for my smaller round slow cooker, I was attracted to this one due to its looks, brand reputation, price, and simplicity of design.
The outer case is polished stainless steel with a black dial and handles, one to each end of the oval. The dial has three positions, low, medium...
Oval Slow Cooker a Welcome Addition To My Kitchen.
Review of Morphy Richards 48710 S/S Round Small S/COOK by
tue-s-day
Advantages: Meals cook themselves.
Disadvantages: Non I am aware.
...I purchased the Morphy Richards (model number 48710) slow cooker after comparing it with the other slow cookers that are available. It is oval and not round ,I preferred it to the round ones as I thought it easier to carry and not as tall when it is the worktop. The stainless steel outer gets hot when in use so it needs to be kept out of the reach of children and the contents could get as hot as the contents of a saucepan so use it with care when young children are in the kitchen area.
The reasons I picked this model are; a two year guarantee (which I thought good on a small appliance). It looks good the design is stylish and fits in with my kitchen as it is stainless steel and black with a glass lid. It's size is 3.5 litres (2.5 litres working capacity) ideal for two-three people a family of four would definitely need the next size...
