Morphy Richards Impressed me

I had to choose an iron that was middle of the road, the prices ranged from £13 up to £69 and I Wanted a durable product that would last me for a few years. It seemed sensible to choose from within the middle of price range, the Morphy Richards 40730 was priced at £44 on their site, but I bought mine from the Amazon site for just over £34 with free UK delivery and it came with a two year guarantee. The powerful 2200 watt model is nicely shaped and maybe slightly larger than some models, but it is very lightweight. The majority of the casing is white plastic but the dial and the water tank cover are purple...

A great Morphy Richards Product

Advantages: Delicious bread without such a gaping hole in the bottom
Disadvantages: Ingredients bucket a bit stiff to manouver

...I have had my original Morphy Richards breadmaker for two years and it was still in good working order but when I saw a new model in Robert Dyas, I had to go and investigate. The new model on display was boasting a drop down paddle which meant no more gaping holes in your bread after you have removed it from the tin. That has to be a plus! The fact that the price had been reduced from £70 to just under £50 swayed my decision. My current which model could be passed onto a grateful family member. As I unpacked this very good looking silver machine, I found an instruction book, guarantee card (for two years) and the measuring cup and spoons. The instruction book is very clear and is full of interesting recipes which include cake and jam. There are a list of baking cycle times and you can make a fast loaf in 1 hour should you wish...

...of the machine are very good, I have to say, very easy to understand, not that the machine is complicated to use anyway. The other problem is the bread pan that comes with the machine. I've had my machine almost three years now and it's been used on very nearly a daily basis, and it's still going strong. However, when it was a year old, the pin that the kneading blade sits on decided to detach itself from the pan. Luckily enough, it was still under warranty and so Morphy Richards replaced it without question. Unfortunately 18 months later (which takes us to last month) exactly the same thing happened again, so I'm going to have to replace the bread pan myself this time. Morphy Richards vs Panasonic

Advantages: Looks good in my kitchen!

...I spent a lot of time researching which breadmaker to buy as just before christmas my old Morphy Richards one expired (after 9 years - so I couldn't complain!) In the end I decided on the Morphy Richards 48268 (as against the Panasonic that friends have raved about). THE REASONS: Financially (a big reason) it was £42 as oppossed to over £75 for the panasonic one. I liked the idea of a drop down blade, means that there is less of a hole ripped out of your bread (happened to my last breadmaker as it got old). Didn't feel that the automatic nut dispenser was really worth the extra money - especially as I feel capable of tipping them in when it beeps I read somewhere that it takes 3hrs for a loaf (I never bother with the fast bake as it never seems worth while) as against about 4 for the panasonic. ...I love coffee as you might have found out from my Starbucks review but like everyone £3 a go for a cup gets a bit expensive sometimes so I decided to invest in a cappuccino machine, well let's say my Dad decided to invest for me and as he had the Morphy Richards Mister Cappuccino and loved it he decided to get me the same. They cost approximately £59.99 and can be bought from most stores that sell homewares, Debenhams, Argos etc. The machine is quite large so you will need a bit of counter top space in your kitchen to put it on. It is nice enough looking to have out on display all the time as it is quite heavy and awkward so I do not recommend moving it in and out of a cupboard every time you want to use it. ...As always, I like to start my review about the packaging and how well it is boxed. Unfortunatly I cannot do this, this time because my very dear mother gave me this steamer for free (she had won it in a prize draw). She already had taken it out of the box and thrown some of it away. I am not going to complain though. So lets start with the looks of it first then. Sitting on the worktop it looks like a babies steraliser unit on the top with a radio on the bottom. The top three compartments(which is all one but divided into three) are see through blue with two at the front and one wide one at the back. The base looks like a brushed metal/silver finish. On the blue screen you can set the different containers for different steaming events and can be set so they all finish at the same time so you dont have to keep things warm waiting...
