Morphy Richards Impressed me

...ago an iron was exactly that and the choice was very limited, but technology has taken ironing to another level and we now have to choose between a huge selection Jet stream Generators and state of the art steam irons. I had to choose an iron that was middle of the road, the prices ranged from £13 up to £69 and I Wanted a durable product that would last me for a few years. It seemed sensible to choose from within the middle of price range, the Morphy Richards 40730 was priced at £44 on their site, but I bought mine from the Amazon site for just over £34 with free UK delivery and it came with a two year guarantee. The powerful 2200 watt model is nicely shaped and maybe slightly larger than some models, but it is very lightweight. Morphy Richards 42278 STEA Iron

Advantages: Good steam power
Disadvantages: Noisy. Takes a while for steam to come through when refilled.

...This is an upper to middle of the range corded steam generator iron. It has all the standard functions you would expect with a modern iron and the steam jet is particularly powerful. It irons very well, I used to spend ages ironing until I bought one of these and a new board and now I get it done in half the time - it's amazing what a difference a decent iron makes! Overall the iron is sturdy and seems well made. The cord is a bit thick and can get twisted which is a minor irritation. One thing I would say is that it's very noisy! In fact, it scares the s*#t out of my dog! Also, it is quite a bulky and heavy object to shove away in a cupboard - nobody wants to look at the iron when they're not using it! A great Morphy Richards Product

Advantages: Delicious bread without such a gaping hole in the bottom
Disadvantages: Ingredients bucket a bit stiff to manouver

...I have had my original Morphy Richards breadmaker for two years and it was still in good working order but when I saw a new model in Robert Dyas, I had to go and investigate. The new model on display was boasting a drop down paddle which meant no more gaping holes in your bread after you have removed it from the tin. That has to be a plus! The fact that the price had been reduced from £70 to just under £50 swayed my decision. My current which model could be passed onto a grateful family member. As I unpacked this very good looking silver machine, I found an instruction book, guarantee card (for two years) and the measuring cup and spoons. The instruction book is very clear and is full of interesting recipes which include cake and jam. There are a list of baking cycle times and you can make a fast loaf in 1 hour should you wish...

...to keep on stopping to refill. Into the water tank you place an anti-scale cartridge which looks like a bag of brown granules stuffed into a tube. Five replacement bags came with the iron and there is an anti-scale indicator light on the iron which will indicate when this cartridge needs replacing. I have been using this iron for about a month now and haven't needed to change it yet, but it does depend on how hard your tap water is. Morphy Richards Rice cooker - Too clever for me!

...A few months ago I read a review about a rice cooker and thought that, yes I could do with one of them. I settled on the Morphy Richards 48744 as to be honest that was the only one offered on the fact finders website and I thought I would use up some of my points. . The Rice and Pasta cooker is a mirrored silver colour with black handles with a toughened glass lid with a black handle and a steam hole. ...We needed a new steam iron and while watching bidup.tv, before turning light off one night (what else does one do before turning light out ). They have the Morphy Richards Steam Generator on. Wow says wifey I want one of those, so a bid is made and we win. The postman arrives 5 days later with this HUGE parcel, God is it big. On television it looks big yes but in real life well words fail me. The Steam generator comprises of a large boiler unit that holds 800cc of water, attached to which is the iron. Morphy Richards vs Panasonic

...I spent a lot of time researching which breadmaker to buy as just before christmas my old Morphy Richards one expired (after 9 years - so I couldn't complain!) In the end I decided on the Morphy Richards 48268 (as against the Panasonic that friends have raved about). THE REASONS: Financially (a big reason) it was £42 as oppossed to over £75 for the panasonic one. I liked the idea of a drop down blade, means that there is less of a hole ripped out of your bread (happened to my last breadmaker as it got old). Didn't feel that the automatic nut dispenser was really worth the extra money - especially as I feel capable of tipping them in when it beeps I read somewhere that it takes 3hrs for a loaf (I never bother with the fast bake as it never seems worth while) as against about 4 for the panasonic. ...I love coffee as you might have found out from my Starbucks review but like everyone £3 a go for a cup gets a bit expensive sometimes so I decided to invest in a cappuccino machine, well let's say my Dad decided to invest for me and as he had the Morphy Richards Mister Cappuccino and loved it he decided to get me the same. They cost approximately £59.99 and can be bought from most stores that sell homewares, Debenhams, Argos etc. The machine is quite large so you will need a bit of counter top space in your kitchen to put it on. It is nice enough looking to have out on display all the time as it is quite heavy and awkward so I do not recommend moving it in and out of a cupboard every time you want to use it.
