Morphy Richards Turbosteam iron

...Our iron packed up over Christmas, we have previously used Morphy Richards stuff because we have found them to be reliable and do a suitable job whoever gets the short straw and has to do the ironing! Since this is my 1st review of 2006, my girlfriend has been given the all important job of testing out this new little puppy. Today being bank holiday Monday, we thought it was safe enough to explore the outside world again and hey ho hey ho it's off to Asda we go!! (I know a song about that!). Why o why don't Asda put irons with the electrical stuff? we searched for ages but eventually was told they were in isle 19! (Shame on us for not knowing!). There was a fair choice, from shop brands for the super dooper cordless models. I managed to fend the girlfriend from going down this avenue! I'm sure that one day we will opt...

Morphy Richards Impressed me

Advantages: An economical iron from Morphy Rchards
Disadvantages: None

...ago an iron was exactly that and the choice was very limited, but technology has taken ironing to another level and we now have to choose between a huge selection Jet stream Generators and state of the art steam irons. I had to choose an iron that was middle of the road, the prices ranged from £13 up to £69 and I Wanted a durable product that would last me for a few years. It seemed sensible to choose from within the middle of price range, the Morphy Richards 40730 was priced at £44 on their site, but I bought mine from the Amazon site for just over £34 with free UK delivery and it came with a two year guarantee. The powerful 2200 watt model is nicely shaped and maybe slightly larger than some models, but it is very lightweight. The majority of the casing is white plastic but the dial and the water tank cover are purple...

Morphy Richards 42278 STEA Iron

Advantages: Good steam power
Disadvantages: Noisy. Takes a while for steam to come through when refilled.

...This is an upper to middle of the range corded steam generator iron. It has all the standard functions you would expect with a modern iron and the steam jet is particularly powerful. It irons very well, I used to spend ages ironing until I bought one of these and a new board and now I get it done in half the time - it's amazing what a difference a decent iron makes! Overall the iron is sturdy and seems well made. The cord is a bit thick and can get twisted which is a minor irritation. One thing I would say is that it's very noisy! In fact, it scares the s*#t out of my dog! Also, it is quite a bulky and heavy object to shove away in a cupboard - nobody wants to look at the iron when they're not using it! A great Morphy Richards Product

Advantages: Delicious bread without such a gaping hole in the bottom
Disadvantages: Ingredients bucket a bit stiff to manouver

...I have had my original Morphy Richards breadmaker for two years and it was still in good working order but when I saw a new model in Robert Dyas, I had to go and investigate. The new model on display was boasting a drop down paddle which meant no more gaping holes in your bread after you have removed it from the tin. That has to be a plus! The fact that the price had been reduced from £70 to just under £50 swayed my decision. My current which model could be passed onto a grateful family member. As I unpacked this very good looking silver machine, I found an instruction book, guarantee card (for two years) and the measuring cup and spoons. The instruction book is very clear and is full of interesting recipes which include cake and jam. There are a list of baking cycle times and you can make a fast loaf in 1 hour should you wish...

Morphy Richards Pink Iron

Advantages: Good Value for money, Different heat settings
Disadvantages: Takes a while to get deep creases out

...I was bought this Iron when I moved out from my parents, It's a brilliant gift for a girl who is moving out of home as its bright pink! So very Girly! I've never had a problem with this iron, does everything it says on the box! The only one downside is that sometimes it takes quite a while to get creases out of jeans than some of the other irons i have used in the past and also it doesnt really appeal to men so its market is limited. It has different heat settings for different type of materials which is also a good thing as some materials need higher heat settings than others. It is also reasonably cheap fow what it is! All round it is a good quality iron which i think is great value for money....

...I've always bought cheap irons in the past but as they tend to mark easily and hence mark your clothes, I decided to buy a slightly more expensive one. With so many to choose from, the main reason I chose this model in the end was because it was half price at Tesco...£15.00. It has a non-stick soleplate so it's less likely to mark and comes with a two year guarantee. Other features include anti-scale system, 400ml water tank, illuminated settings and a non-drip system. My experience so far has been very positive. Although I initially thought the 400ml water tank was pretty irrelevant, it's actually quite useful as I don't have to keep refilling it if I've got a lot of ironing to do. ...We needed a new steam iron and while watching bidup.tv, before turning light off one night (what else does one do before turning light out ). They have the Morphy Richards Steam Generator on. Wow says wifey I want one of those, so a bid is made and we win. The postman arrives 5 days later with this HUGE parcel, God is it big. On television it looks big yes but in real life well words fail me. The Steam generator comprises of a large boiler unit that holds 800cc of water, attached to which is the iron. Morphy Richards Rice cooker - Too clever for me!

I settled on the Morphy Richards 48744 as to be honest that was the only one offered on the fact finders website and I thought I would use up some of my points. . The Rice and Pasta cooker is a mirrored silver colour with black handles with a toughened glass lid with a black handle and a steam hole.
