Advantages: Good search function, choice, and advise
Disadvantages: Car hire section needs sorting out

...I have used several travel planners recently, and I have found that Expedia is the best of the bunch, easy search funtions, the only minus is that direct flights often seem to be expensive. I have used Expedia for a several point visit to the US earlier this year, and everything went well, the customer service is good, and will certainly use them again. The car hire section is a bit complicated, you get diverted to the operetors website, these are priced in Dollars at the basic hire charge only. we booked our car through a traditional travel agent, much the same for the hotels service, I have always used Motel 6 in the U.S. none of their sites came up on the search, we booked our rooms on the Motel 6 site.... Advantages: Close to railroads
Disadvantages: Noisy

...I find it amazing that I can sit at home and make a reservation for a motel 4000 miles away, turn up, give my surname and the motel can tell me my first name! If you arrive after around 10pm the reception area will be closed, this happens every night to protect the staff and rather than serving you over the large counter you visit a small window in the lobby area instead. There were ice machines, vending machines with crisps, chocolate, toothpaste, gum, and "sodas" in the lobby. The reception area proper has a large selection of tourist information leaflets, and from early to mid morning coffee on the go. Being close to the railroad meant that there was a lot of noise, and this really isn't a place for light sleepers. However rail fans like my partner will love beening so close to a railroad intersection! The room had a huge shower... Read review

...on the small side, but the were two each and face cloths. There was also a bar of soap each, an ice bucket. We had a queen room, which has one double bed, and a table and chairs. There were coat hangers and a suitcase rack. The TV had around 20 channels. The room was however spotlessly clean. We ate both dinner and breakfast at the next door Tamarisk restaurant, which was wonderful. Great choice, friendly service and delicious food. As far as I remember there were a few other fast food places around town. We only had one night in Green River so I can't tell you what the room servicing was like but there was a note saying bed linen is changed every 3 days unless you request different, towels left in the shower are replaced and the beds made daily. ...Close to airport, the website says it is 4 miles, it was probably 10 minutes from us setting off in our hire car to arriving at the motel. The reception area was closed when we arrived around 11pm, this happens every night to protect the staff and rather than serving you over the large counter you visit a small window in the lobby area instead. There were ice machines, vending machines with crisps, chocolate, toothpaste, gum, and "sodas" in the lobby. The reception area proper has a large selection of tourist information leaflets, and from early to mid morning coffee on the go. Being close to the Interstate meant that there was some road noise, as well as two trains each night on the nearby railroad track. However as I am a heavy sleeper and was tired from a stupidly long day flying in from the UK this didn't bother me in the slightest... Read review

...extra option of paying for more channels, a hairdryer and various convinient located plug sockets around the room. We booked through laterooms and paid £30 a night the standard price i a little higher but i competitevly priced amongst other chain motels. The only bad points were.. The price of breakfast if you wanted it being about £6 per person and it was no cheaper to go across to the service station that was equally expensive. There was also a lot of motorway noise which might put some people off but it only expectable when the motel is at a motorway services. My other half and i enjoyed our stay there and would definately stop there again.... Read review

...Do not be put off by the reception being to the rear of the Motel. This is to avoid the crowds waiting for a table in their excellent restaurant. The rooms are spacious with large bathrooms and all the usual facilities such as multilingual tv channels and mini-bar. Facilities include a gymnasium and large swimming pool, with a sports shop to purchase those forgotten items. A general shop is located at the front of the Motel for more mundane items and gifts. The bar, situated to the rear of the Motel, is large and comfortable with sofas and armchairs, and has a view of the pool. Outside of the Motel are facilities for local sports teams and competietive games are held there. You are only a short, walking, distance of Animali which is a smal zoo. Eindhoven is only a short drive (3km) and you are at the side of the A2 with direct access... Read review

Advantages: Waffles for breakfast, pool and hot-tub

...Durango is a town in Southwestern Colorado, best known as the starting point for the Durango and Silverton narrow gauge railroad. It is also a good base for activity holidays including skiing and white water rafting. We visited as part of a trip around Utah, Colorado and Wyoming in September 2007. The Best Western motel is at the opposite end of town to the railroad, on "motel row". Our reservation through ebookers worked perfectly, unusually we didn't pay until we checked out, Our room was huge, with two king sized beds, there was a big mirror on the wall, a deep pile carpet and all the furniture was dark wood. All very nice! There was a big television with too many channels to count, we had a radio alarm clock, tuned in and set to the correct time, and a phone with a notepad next to it. ...Bickering couple David and Amy's relationship is further tested when their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Deciding to leave their car and try and find help, although it is the middle of the night, they come across a motel and, once ascertaining that they won't get any help until daylight (doh!), they decide to spend the night in the motel. Despite the motel manager's assurances that there are no other guests in the motel, someone constantly bangs on their door; even worse, the couple soon realise that what they initially think is a film on their TV is actually a video of other guests being tortured and murdered. ...1. Drive on the freeways, a crazy madcap experience. It's the real version of one of those video driving games children adore. Not for the nervous. 2. Drive up the Pacific Coast Highway between LA and San Francisco - sheer beauty. Allow two days each way and make you sure you book a stop over motel in advance. 3. Go to the Joshua Tree National Park and enjoy the silence. 4. Watch the world go by from a Santa Barbara Cafe. 5. See a TV show being made, look out for the Studio Rep's on Hollywood Boulevard or Venice Beach. 6. Wander round the canals near to Venice beach. 7. Sit in a San Francisco bar and enjoy a lively chat with the unbelievably friendly locals. 8. Watch the surfers at Huntington Beach (LA). 9.
