Ikea Antilop - the best high chair on the market
Advantages: Cheap, easy to clean, good posture for baby
Disadvantages: None except you have to go to Ikea to get it
...Initally, we wanted to get the cheapest high chair we could find, and opted for a foldable high chair on clearance in John Lewis for £22. Our little boy slipped around it, and it was a nightmare to put him in and take him out of, and even more of a nightmare to clean. However, being novice parents we didn't know things could be any different.
Then we went on a short holiday to Antwerp (an excellent holiday destination if ever we had one, perhaps I will write a review of Antwerp in another review). While on holiday there, all the restaurants we ate in had the same high chair. This, we discovered, was the Ikea Antilop.
Not long after, we returned to England, and soon became increasingly unhappy with our Cosatto travel high chair, and so a trip to Ikea beckoned.
Having checked on the internet that it was in stock, and being...

High praise for this high chair
Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: Quite bulky to take in car
...We bought this high chair as it is very good quality and extremely sturdy. A lot of the parenting magazines have given it very positive reviews and it has won several rewards.
The seat has four different positions, perfect as your child develops and also useful should your child get tired or sleepy whilst you are in the middle of a meal. We have also found that it is really useful being able to tip the chair back when youre giving your child medicine- it means its more likely to go down their throat than all over you!
It has a lovely padded cover (with a choice of designs)and a moulded seat, adding great comfort. The seat also wipes clean very well. The padded section is also removeable, allowing you to clean underneath where stray food always gathers on any high chair.
Th adjustable straps keep your child secure and stop them...

Fisher Price High Chair is disappointing
Advantages: Bright and colourful
Disadvantages: Sharp plastic sticking down under the tray
...Our house consists alot of Fisher Price accessories, from bouncy chairs to stacking cups. We trust and love their range especially the precious planets and rainforest.
When we had to buy a high chair we decided to keep with the theme and go for the Precious Planets high chair.
Our baby was 4 months when we got it, because the high chair is meant to be from birth and we wanted to start a correct eating habit early.
When we got it home, it was a different story all together. It took nearly 2 hours to construct. I know that we are sleep deprived but we can follow instructions. We found the reclining seat a bit flimsy. You had to jiggle the seat to get it to catch properly. But the main problem came when we had to fit our baby in it. When we sat him in it, he was excited naturally but when we put the tray on he banged his legs...

Super Duper High Chair
Advantages: Easy to clean and transport, durable and cheap
Disadvantages: None
...I bought the Antilop High Chair and also the tray that goes with it for my son when he was about 7 months and have been using it ever since (he is now a year and a half).
Description
The seat part is white and made from Polypropylene plastic and there are four legs that clip in which are hollow and made from Pigmented epoxy/polyester powder coating. The chair has a rounded back and a t-bar at the front to stop baby from slipping out. The legs each have a small fully attached pin that can be pushed in to dismantle the chair, there are little plastic stoppers on the bottom of each leg to stop any slippage or marks getting made on your floor. There is also a safety belt included which just clips round the waist of your child. You can also buy the matching white polypropylene plastic tray which easily clips onto the seat...

East Coast High (chair) Living!
Advantages: Easy to Clean, stylish, will grow with your child
Disadvantages: Does not fold away, Tray not easily removed
...If you are looking for a good quality high chair that will not look out of place in your home and will grow with your child then I would suggest that you investigate the East Coast Multi functional Highchair.
When choosing my high chair I considered 4 things
1. What will I be using the chair for e.g. Feeds only, playtime,
2. Storage space e.g. Will it be in the way if kept upright? Does it fold away?
3. Can my baby sit comfortably in it? Would padding help, or is a chair with reclining function a better option?
4. Would I like to continue to use the chair after the initial weaning period?
For me the East Coast Multi functional Highchair fitted the bill perfectly. The design is very simple and stylish and as our kitchen chairs are wooden it doesn't look out of place in our home. The chair is made from good quality wood so is...

More than just another high chair
Advantages: Grows with your child
Disadvantages: No tray
...A Stokke Tripp Trapp chair is a well designed piece of furniture that will last long after your child has grown up and left home.
I bought mine when my baby was 6 months old complete with the baby kit for around £125.00. It was simple to assemble and feels very sturdy and stable. Alex was comfortable in it from to word go, and it blends in well with the rest of our furniture. It is available in a large range of wood finishes to blend in with any decor.
The high chair is designed without a tray so that you child gets used to eating at the table with the rest of the family from an early age. I was very wary of this at first and almost didn't purchase it for that reason but I must say that I have not missed the tray one little bit.
As your child grows, the baby kit can be removed turning it into an ordinary chair which you can...

Well darling, we're eating out tonight
Advantages: it is cheap
Disadvantages: it only has one fixed position
.... She was happy to begin her weaning in a reclining bouncy chair prior to this. As far as the harness goes, it was fine. Just remember (as with all high chairs) to put a bib on once baby is strapped in - it will save hours of trying to clean out the grooves in the harness. That said, you can hose it down in the garden...
So with all the limitations of this chair discussed. I still feel this is worth buying and good value for money. However, given the choice again, I might be torn between this and the cheapish folding Babysrus version (I think it might have been £35-£40) because there was a bit more space for my daughter's fidgity legs between the seat and the tray. The standard Mothercare highchair does have some plusses though:
"Well darling, we're eating out tonight." Because the highchair is so cheap, we spent many fun teatimes...

Has everything you need in a high chair
Advantages: Inexpensive, Easy to clean, Light, Functional
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
...I absolutely love this high chair. It was literally a snap to put together. I looked on-line for reviews of other, more expensive high chairs and it seemed to me that they were awfully expensive, and that the high chairs were styled and named more for the parents than for the children. I decided to save my money and opt for the functional and practical high chair that IKEA offered. I am so glad I did. It is easy to clean, it works well at the table as a toddler chair and my daughter hasn't complained yet that she didn't get the most expensive one. I have taken the $ I would have spent on a more expensive chair and have put it into her savings instead. I just couldn't justify spending an extra $100 for a plain high chair. I also thought that if this high chair is used on a daily basis in the IKEA restaurant by hundreds of children...

mothercare pine cube highchair
Advantages: very stable, easy to wipe down and will last a very long time
Disadvantages: doesn't fold
...when i decided on the mothercare pine cube highchair i knew nobody who had one, it turned out to be my best buy since my son was born, it didn't look as comfortable as some others for smaller babies, but looked extremeley good for the older babies, so i decided to buy it because all round it seemed the best. When my son was old enough to go in his highchair to my suprise he seemed extremely comfortable and would sit in it for long periods of time. Now he's older it has remained his favourite "sitting place", although he's now very adventurous he still sits in his chair for long periods of time , not just when he's eating but to watch television and even to watch mummy cook the tea. Its very easy to wipe down which is also very important to me. The only real disadvantage is that this chair doesn't fold down but if like me u have...

Makes dinner time easier
Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -
...If you have a small child, from 1 upwards a highchair is highly recommended to make meal times easier. My niece when she comes over is real pain because when she has her dinner, she does all the naughty things a toddler does and basically doesn’t eat her dinner.
But, when she’s at home she is confined in her high chair at meal times, and as a result eats her dinner. When, I say confined I don’t mean imprisoned but in her highchair she has to stay put and feeding her and getting something down her is much more easier.
We bought the highchair from Mothercare mainly because it’s quite local to us, it costs £30 which was extremely good value. There was a good range of colours to chose from we decided on a multi-coloured one, something really nice and lively.
You can adjust the size so it can fit into...
