MotoGP 08 - Xbox360

Advantages: Easy `arcady' controls
Disadvantages: Handling feels disonnected from track, bike sounds are rubbish

...I picked this game up for £20 second hand. So am just getting to grips with it really. I've been playing it for about 2 weeks now. The game was previously developed by Climax but now it is done by Capcom. I was full of hope but can't say they've added all that much to the game. Appart from the different racing classes which is much appreciated. I'm quite a big fan of the MotoGP franchise of games and also of real life bike racing. But this version leaves me a bit underwhelmed really. They don't seem to improve the game all that much from the previous versions. In my eyes the previous versions of this game were so much more fun to play. You could powerslide the bikes around corners, trail the brakes etc. The controls were always responsive and the bike felt connected to the track. You could get slightly out of control and bring...

To be or to Moto GP, that is the question.

Advantages: Great fun to play, whatever difficulty setting you choose. Realistic and challenging.
Disadvantages: Could do with having a few different tracks as there are only five (you can race them reversed though).

...Motor bike racing has never really had its fair share of the limelight as far as the PlayStation goes. It lacks both the glamour of Formula 1 and the dirt and sweat excitement of Rallying. Only recently have games of any quality started to appear on the system, but even the best of these offerings don't seem to capture the skill and precision that makes the sport what it is. So when Moto GP appeared, it came as a bit of a shock to me that, not only did it look damn good, it also came with a bucket load of realism...and all for just £39.99. When you start the game up, you are greeted by a nice selection of options including Grand Prix, Challenge, Time Trial and Two Player modes. But it is the Grand Prix mode which offers players the most challenge, realism and lastability. Once you have chosen your rider and bike/team, you set off in...

Smell the gasoline...on the move! with MotoGP PSP

Advantages: High quality, realistic motorcycle racing action with Awesome graphics
Disadvantages: Load times can be a bit of a bummer. Controls difficult at first

...I got this title just a few weeks back when it was released. Its a stunning addition to the MotoGP series and is very enjoyable once you get into the swing of things. First off lets start with the downers, so we can end this review on a high note. As mentioned in the Disadvantages, I mentioned its not too easy to control at first. By this I mean the player must take into consideration how close to the corners you should apply the brakes as you will see, the game is very unforgiving of those whom take the 'mario kart' style approach to racing where most of the race consists of holding down the accelerate button. If you did that with MotoGP you'll be eatting well textured, hi-res gravel. However after you get into the realism of the control system you will start to love it. Especially with the international race tracks replicated...

Artificial no Intelligence

Advantages: Gameplay, Longetivity
Disadvantages: Computer AI, Some Simpls Things in Career Mode, No Online Leaderboards

...*********************************************************************************************** *****Concept***** *********************************************************************************************** I think the concept of the game is fairly understandable from the photo. It's a motorbike racing game, with all the riders from the 125, 250 and MotoGP classes. Race as your motorbiking heroes or against them - your choice. *********************************************************************************************** *****Gameplay***** *********************************************************************************************** There are three different types of racing modes in the game. These include : Arcade - The easiest mode to master. You are quite unlikely to fall of, except when trying to tirn very...

Some Great Knee Down Action

Advantages: Realistic multi class racing.
Disadvantages: No commentary, quite vague bike set up techniques.

...A must have game for any motor cycle racing enthusiast. Includes the full grid line ups from the 125cc, 250cc and Moto GP classes. Also includes all the circuits from the 2008 season with second to none true to life graphics for this genre of game. Game play is very realistic with various modes from Novice to expert which provides relatively easy game play for complete beginners with true to life bike handling characteristics for the more expert gamer. The bikes suffer from realistic crashes, and computer controlled competitors are not invincible to these crashes unlike some of the other games I have played in this genre and also suffer from life like crashes. The game consists of various challenges which once completed unlocks additional content. There is also a career mode in this game which allows you to start...

Fast, fun and realistic

Advantages: Graphics, Gameplay
Disadvantages: Limited gameplay types, unlicenced "extreme mode" bikes

...MotoGP 07 is the 2nd outing on the "next gen" consoles for the series. It moves on from MotoGP 06, with its fantastic graphics and good simulation play, and takes it further, also introducing the new "800cc" class GP bikes. I think the motoGP series of games are fantastic, particularly because of the way the bikes handle in the game. The braking, leaning and turning all feel relatively realistic (as far as you can compare to real life anyway) and you feel a real sense of speed throwing the bikes down the straights. The graphics in '07 are brilliant - all of the bikes look just like their real life counterparts, and ride how you would expect (referring to different engine characteristics for example - you can feel the difference in game between Casey Stoners ducati over Rossi's Yamaha M1 for example) Ramping up the difficulty makes...

The most realistic Motor Bike game ever made

Advantages: Very realistic
Disadvantages: Limited range of tracks

...Moto GP is a game where if you like motor bike games you will not be disapointed. Because the game is so realistic that when you brake the rider actully sits back as if he would in the race. All the bikes and riders and statistics are from the most recent season 500cc grand prix racing season. All the racers look the same as they would in real life. The only downside to the game is that there is only five tracks and so this makes racing limited. Although there is mirror tracks in time trial but it does get boring after abit. The tracks are based on real life tracks and can be quite challenging if you change the difficulty mode. The graphics are superb and maybe being quite expensive at the moment its till worth it....

Time for a re-work?

Advantages: good racing, stunning graphics
Disadvantages: lacks originality from the previous games

...I must say that playing MotoGP07 was far more excitibg than watching the tedious racing that was offered from the actual sport this year. As always, the graphics have evolved since MotoGP06 and are even more stunning than before. The replays may as well be video footage from the actual MotoGP they are that good and the detail of the start grid with camera men, brolly girls and team mechanics buzzing around is an innovative inclusion, it's just a shame it is only a visual enhancement. When I first read about 07 before it was released, it was stated that you would be able to experiance the 'spectacle of the MotoGP circus' . I was hoping this would include things such as being able to choose your sponsors and having to achieve certain things to please them, being able to decorate your bike with realistic detail as in Forza...

http://www.aeonity.com/gurji

Advantages: Graphics, Seasons mode, authentic riders and tracks
Disadvantages: Difficulty, few tracks, AI not up to scratch

...I bought Moto GP as a non-racing bike fan and was instantly gripped by the realistic gameplay and graphics make this a solid racing game for the PSP. The main features are the authentic bikers and riders which helps to appeal to the MotoGP fan veteran and helps to add to the authenticity of the racing experience. There is an in-depth season mode which is quite challenging with a hard learning curve for first-time gamers to motorcycle games. Season consists of eight races and my only problem was that there is no continuation for seasons and you are left with a moral victory and lack of journey with your team. You can however change teams if you are performing well which helps to provide variety into the mix. The GOOD Points are: Graphics - superb rendered graphics bring racing to life. The graphics and pretty and detailed...
