Advantages: Great story, amazing actors/actresses, worth watching
Disadvantages: Beginning bit quite boring

...This has to be the best film I have ever watched. It's one of my favourites. I can't remember the first time I watched it, I think I was about 14 me and my dad were at his and he put it on ... I'm not normally into music ones where theres loads of singing and dancing but this was just amazing. Especially the scene in Satine's bedroom and also on the elephant those bits were just fantastic. The film is contorversial and I would recommend your careful showing young children this film because of the sexy bits that appear in the film. THE PLOT Moulin Rouge is set in Paris at the start of the 1900's, with Ewan McGregor on his type writer. Aaaaah, Moulin Rouge

Advantages: Modern songs, great costumes, great actors/actresses.
Disadvantages: The plot wasn't that easy to follow.

moulin rouge is magnificant,

Advantages: good value for money, lots of tracks
Disadvantages: none come to mind

...For anyone who loved the film, this special edition soundrack album is a must have. Featuring all the songs from the musical, plus mixes and variations, this is a fantastic album. The collectors edition, is a 2 cd set, the main soundtrack album, plus a bonus disc, featuring other songs from the film, and also mixes of some of the tracks. The 2 cds each come in thier own case, and come in a red cardboard sleeve, with a gold picture frame, inside are the words moulin rouge. This album was released in 2002, following the huge success of the film. The film itslef was produced by Baz Luhrman, who is also famous for the musical strictly ballroom. The price is also very good, i bought this when it first got released and paid £14.99, the single cd was £11.99. But now that it has been out for a couple of years, the prices have gone...

"Moulin Rouge" by an undying musical fan.

Advantages: All aspects of the film
Disadvantages: I'm biased and cannot find any disadvantages

...I just love musicals and always have done! This was a real eye opener for me as it takes a classic,l highly unoriginal idea of the poor writer falling for the ambitious actress only to be rebuffed, one over and then TRAGEDY strikes. However, in Moulin Rouge, the director, who previously made Romeo and Juliet and recently presented Australia, presents it all in a state of the art way and has you foot tapping until the end The sheer ambition of the presentation blows your breath away and the quirky use of pop classics is great fun. The main actors sing amazingly well and it was the film that definitetly showed that Nicole Kidman was a force to be reckoned with!!!!! Moulin Rouge

Advantages: Spellbinding, exhilirating, comedic, dramatic. First class performances throughout.
Disadvantages: The denouement is slightly laboured and could have been a little shorter.

...This truly is the Spectacular, Spectacular of the year. From the very start of the film the viewer is taken on a sumptious journey of musical melodrama, which will leave you spell bound and breatheless. Set in Paris in 1900 the film takes advantage of contemporary music and sets the songs against the background of the Moulin Rouge. Nicole Kidman and Euan McGregor are outstanding as the leading protagonists, and lend comedy talent to remarkably good singing performances. Moulin Rouge Wows for about an hour

Advantages: Imaginative, sometimes innovative, some magical moments
Disadvantages: very loud, and brash and becomes more conventional at its end.

...Moulin Rouge almost immediately reminded me of Terry Gilliam's Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1989). It's excessively loud, theatrical, full of slapstick and garish. It is however too sweet and sentimental to be down right vulgar. At times its even touchingly romantic. It has also been made by a crew of seemingly fearless film technicians who use everything they can afford to put on the screen-on the screen. You have no idea how far this film will go. The only clue is that its rated Pg-13 (in the U.S.) but it seems like it's going to push through that barrier at any moment anyway. It evokes Keystone Cop slapstick and Allan Carr's (Can't Stop the Music, Broadway's La Cage Aux Folles) excesses sometimes at the same time. It's frenetically edited like an MTV video on speed, but creates such a detailed period opulent fantasy world...

Go To The Moulin Rouge for Quality Entertainment

Advantages: Excellent film all round, particularly the music and humour
Disadvantages: Well suppose it's annoying having to pay to get in...!

Advantages: Great singing and story line. Fab actors.
Disadvantages: Not everyone would like it because it's more of a musical
