...We bought this blender 6 months ago, primarily to mix cocktails and smoothies up in. We chose this over the Kenwood smoothie maker because we felt it would be more versatile if we did wish to prepare anything else. We also liked the looks of the blender and the fact that it had a hard wearing glass jug rather than a plastic one (It will go in the dishwasher safely). In addition the glass jug holds 1.2litres - more than some other makes and has two speeds as well as the pulse function. The metal blades allow for easy ice crushing and they are removable for cleaning purposes. The pulse feature also aids this and allows you to keep things slightly chunky or blend to a really smooth consistency. Blenders for benders

Advantages: Clean Lines, easy to clean
Disadvantages: Clip has broken already on one attatchment

...I received this product as a present for Christmas and have to say that I am quite impresed thus far. The Moulinex Optiblend 2000 comprises of a base unit, and 2 fittings. The first a Grinder, for Coffee, spices and seeds etc The Second a standard liquidiser It has 2 settings, a fast speed and a pulse function The lid can also be used as a measuring cup, and the jug has a 1ltr capacity, with both imperial and metric guides. After use the device is easily cleaned thanx to its smooth lines. I have so far used it to make soup’s and cake mixes and have been quite satisfied with the results. However, although I have not yet used the grinder attachment, one of the clips to secure it to the base unit has broke already, so I guess this model isn’t as durable as others. Advantages: Copes with anything, can cope with small amounts.
Disadvantages: Hard to find these days.

...I asked Ciao to add this product, which they have kindly done, however the picture shown is not the product I have. Mine is infact a Chopper, not a blender. I have checked and they both have the same code which is a bit silly really, but it means I will be reviewing my product not the one shown. See the photos for a picture of the product I have. When I was pregnant with my fourth child, my inlaws asked what I would like. I am a fan of home cooked meals especially for babies, so for my other children had used a blender to puree food for them. However being more adventurous I had also used it to chop frozen veg as doing it then it stays intact, rather than going mushy if done after cooking. My Moulinex manual mixer

Advantages: Inexpensive, comfortable grip, effective, long-lasting
Disadvantages: Slight difficulty cleaning vents

...I bought my Moulinex hand-mixer around five years ago, for about £10. Previously I had had larger mixers, the kind that come with a stand and a bowl. However I had found some distinct disadvantages with this type of mixer: for one thing, they either take up a great deal of space on the kitchen work surfaces, or get packed away in a cupboard and then it's a nuisance to get them out. Then there's the problem that only one bowl (that supplied with the mixer) will fit the base, so if I wanted to mix two or three things in separate bowls, I had to keep decanting what was already mixed, and cleaning the bowl out. And if the bowl breaks, the mixer becomes useless, unless you can find a replacement. With some mixers it's possible to remove the main mechanism from the stand, and use it as a hand-held one, but I never found that this worked...

Moulinex multi moulinette - Kitchen magic!!

Advantages: Simple to use, value for money.
Disadvantages: can omly take small quantities.

...I have owned a moulinex multi moulinette (AT71) for several years and would say it was the most useful kitchen gadget I have ever owned. It is small compact gadget which takes very little space. I use it for all my chopping and blending jobs when preparing food. It holds up to 0.5 litre of fluid, up to 16oz dry ingredients or aprox 2 cups. Great for making breadcrumbs for your gratins, chopping vegetables, making savoury spreads,pureeing fruit, blending soup or I even use mine for grating cheese! It is extremely simple to use literally a press of a button, and as all ingredients are in a sealed bowl there is no mess from splashing etc.. It is easy to clean afterwards as all 3 parts (except for the electrical unit!) can be dishwashed or immersed in warm soapy water for cleaning. I have recently replaced my multi moulinette for around £30...

Hand blender

Advantages: Price, easy to clean

...I bought this hand blender when I started weaning my baby. I wanted to make his food myself to ensure I knew what went in it, I for some reason have a huge distrust in jarred baby food. I also use it to make myself fruit smoothies which it does brilliantly. I have a large free-standing blender but its an absolute pain in the rear to clean, especially if I'm only blending small amounts of food, well actually even if I am blending alot of food I still much prefer to use the hand blender, its easier. I didn't want anything fancy and I didn't want anything expensive. This suited my requirements perfectly. It is comfortable to use, fitting perfectly into your hand and blends the food up pretty quickly. It has a detachable foot, making it so easy to clean. It is quite small, stores away well. The jug that comes with it is very handy...

Cookworks Silver Glass Blender

...This review is for the cookworks silver glass blender for the domestic kitchen. Impressive looking and works well, I'd say it is not a bad purchase at all for just under twenty pounds. With a million uses, we tend to abuse it only for smoothies and the occassional mass houmous making. It is actually capable of blending up many other things including tomatoes, veg etc for making homemade soups. Also the manual says you can make baby food (although thankfully none of us are at that stage in our lives yet - it is useful to know you can save money by making your own). Also fantastic for cheating on baking, especially in the cake and muffin making department when you simply can't beat the akward lumps out of the mix! But of course we are wonderful housewives with exceptional skills at the all in one methond from food tech so this very rarely...

Smoother than a babies bottom

...A couple of weeks ago I succumbed to the smoothie generation and bought myself a blender. I bought the Moulinex optiblend with mill. When I was in America last year when I had my first “real” smoothie and ever since I have moments when I know I want a smoothie but no means to make one. Also I like cooking and I thought a blender would be ideal for making sauces and soups. My friend bought one last year and I remember she made carrot and coriander soup from the recipe book she got with her blender and it was delicious. Silly me presumed all blenders came with some recipes. Alas no such luck. Anyway I bought my Blender from Comet for just under £18, the price varied in other stores from £18 -£21 so I got a bargain. One Little Whip-er Snapper of a Blender

...Here's a darling little blender that I just had to tell you all about (and no, it isn't a hand mixer like the one shown in the picture here. Its a standing blender - you know, like the kind you use for making milkshakes and stuff like that. Where did that picture come from, Ciao?). I was recently in my local Home Center (our local competition to Ace Hardware) when I saw that if I bought NIS 99 (about BPS 14.30) worth of products, I could add another NIS 99 and get this Kenwood Blender with Coffee Mill. Since the full sticker price for this was NIS 207 (just under BPS 30), I figured, why not? My old Moulinex blender, while not yet dead, had a broken bottom to the beaker and the coffee/nut grinder - which was never all that good - had gotten one of its blades bent badly out of shape on the last batch of hazelnuts I tried to grind...
