A Drip of a Fryer!!

...I had wanted a deep fat fryer for ages so welcomed the idea of one as a gift from my mother and father with open arms. I do not eat much fried food so I went for a small 1 kilogramme capacity. The 1800 watt heating element sounded good enough for me! I chose the Delonghi model, initially because it was the cheapest on the shelf. I am not into complicated dials and settings so this one was ideal with a simple one heat setting. The thermostat is set to 190 degrees centigrade. I assumed this would be hot enough to cook what I wanted! Chips, chips, chips and urmm .............. chips!! The fryer is simply plugged in and turned on at the wall. There is a red LED light to indicate that the device is heating up. When the fryer is ready for use, the LED light goes off and a click can be heard, I guess from the thermostat. Simple, even...

My Moulinex manual mixer

Advantages: Inexpensive, comfortable grip, effective, long-lasting

...I bought my Moulinex hand-mixer around five years ago, for about £10. Previously I had had larger mixers, the kind that come with a stand and a bowl. However I had found some distinct disadvantages with this type of mixer: for one thing, they either take up a great deal of space on the kitchen work surfaces, or get packed away in a cupboard and then it's a nuisance to get them out. Then there's the problem that only one bowl (that supplied with the mixer) will fit the base, so if I wanted to mix two or three things in separate bowls, I had to keep decanting what was already mixed, and cleaning the bowl out. And if the bowl breaks, the mixer becomes useless, unless you can find a replacement. With some mixers it's possible to remove the main mechanism from the stand, and use it as a hand-held one, but I never found that this worked...

Moulinex multi moulinette - Kitchen magic!!

...I have owned a moulinex multi moulinette (AT71) for several years and would say it was the most useful kitchen gadget I have ever owned. It is small compact gadget which takes very little space. I use it for all my chopping and blending jobs when preparing food. It holds up to 0.5 litre of fluid, up to 16oz dry ingredients or aprox 2 cups. Great for making breadcrumbs for your gratins, chopping vegetables, making savoury spreads,pureeing fruit, blending soup or I even use mine for grating cheese! It is extremely simple to use literally a press of a button, and as all ingredients are in a sealed bowl there is no mess from splashing etc.. It is easy to clean afterwards as all 3 parts (except for the electrical unit!) can be dishwashed or immersed in warm soapy water for cleaning. I have recently replaced my multi moulinette for around £30...

Visiting our nearest Tesco Superstore I found the Breville Cool Wall Deep Fat Fryer for 19.99. It is cylindrical in shape, which I initially found attractive but now realise that a rectangular one would have fitted more neatly in the corner. Standing 11 inches (28cm) high and at it?s widest point, 13 inches (33cm) in diameter it is fitted with a plug on a 4 foot (116cm) cable. We choose this one because it was described as a professional stainless steel fryer. We believed that being professional then it would be safer. The style and look of the appliance is great and of course it is great value for money. The maker: I had not heard that much about cookworks in the past to be totally honest this was the first time I had ever bought an item from them. What you get: Instructions~ which are pretty useless to be honest as they have a few pictures showing you how to put the fryer together and how to fill it. ...Since I'm one of those people who resolves to be healthy every once in a while, I was very happy when my dad bought home the Moulinex Whole fruit juicer - it doesn't say the code on the front of the manual or the front of the machine so I had to use my newly juice sustained muscles to lift it up and read that it was the Ju500! When I first took it out of the box, it all looked very complicated (there are 9 separate parts: the large pusher, small pusher, reducer for small pusher, feed tube/cover, the sieve, juice collector, motor unit, pulp collector and brush) so the manual was very useful!
