Reviews of moulinex kettle
Reasonably well designed safe cordless kettle
Review of Morphy Richards 43060 by
mascarasnake
Advantages: Quieter than the fast boil kettles, 3 mins for 1.5 litres.
Disadvantages: Not fast boil.
...The Morphy Richards Stainless Steel Kettle Essentials Jug (model 43058) is a well-designed semi pear shaped rounded jug style kettle, as opposed to the newer style tall columnar plastic design of the Haden and Moulinex ones I mention in another opinion. It is suitable for left or right handed or ambidextrous users as a consequence of the round base design. The kettle can be placed back on its base at any angle, most useful when in a hurry while cooking.
<kettle jugs, which is what this is, I feel justified in placing this here, especially as no one has bothered to write about this category yet. Ciao can move it to its proper place if they introduce the 43058 category sometime. I can not wait...

A CUPPA IN 30 SECONDS
Review of Moulinex Lirys by
brianlfc
Advantages: Fast boil (one cup in 20-30 seconds), easy to clean element, see-though sides to see exactly how much water is in the Kettle.
Disadvantages: A bit costly, be careful not to pour the water too quickly.
...We needed to replace our kettle the other day, as our old one took the knock (overuse of course, probably by me), so my sister went out to buy one, and came back with a “Moulinex Lirys” out of Argos, for around £29.00.
On first looks, this kettle looks rather big, ugly and awkward, but has the advantage of having a see-through side to it, which helps you see exactly how much water is inside and if you are in to that kind of thing, you can stand there and watch the water boil.
Not being a total expert of kettles, although I do use them very often, I would say this is a pretty decent one, with a couple of decent options on it, although for the price it cost, I’d expect a few more, things like “actually making the tea for you and bringing it to your computer, with a packet of biscuits”, I am only joking...

Coffee - quick!
Review of Moulinex Crystal Arome Plus Coffee Maker by
Caro_R
Advantages: Quick, easy to use, compact
Disadvantages: A bit fiddly to clean
...This was received as a wedding present and before this the only coffee makers I had encountered were monstrous brown contraptions which took up half the kitchen, were used once for a dinner party and then left to gather dust for twenty five years. The Moulinex is nothing like that.
It is compact and attractive looking and one of its best features is that the coffee is percolated straight into a round glass jug which you then use for pouring. It will make up to 10 mugs or 15 small cups-worth and a hot plate under the jug keeps the coffee up to temperature nicely.
The simplicity of the machine’s appearance is matched by its ease of use. You just bung in a filter paper, bung coffee in one bit and water in another, switch it on and that’s it.
What surprised me most about the Moulinex, and which is its greatest advantage, is its speed...

Kettle Called. I Said You'd Call Him Back
Review of Moulinex Lirys by
jillmurphy
Advantages: 360 degree base, large capacity, fast-boil, easy to clean, sturdy.
Disadvantages: Wide spout a pain for pouring small amounts, relatively noisy.
...Hereabouts, kettles are important items y'know. I do not use my kettle simply to boil water for the odd cup of tea or instant coffee, although I do drink tea by the gallon. I cook lots. And I cook from scratch. Ready meals just are not for me. Consequently, I boil a lot of water many times each day. And I'm very fussy about my kettles – it is rare that one comes up completely to scratch. And so, about a year ago, when my last kettle went pop, I decided to research the new one properly before I bought. Armed with my trusty Argos catalogue I sat down and went through most of the opinions on Ciao. Yes! It's a consumer resource this website y'know!
The Moulinex Lirys kettle was the one in the catalogue that caught my eye. It is a mid-range kettle, and Argos was pricing it at £27.99. This was cheaper than the designer kettles – some...

Dangerously designed cordless kettle.
Review of Moulinex Lirys by
mascarasnake
Advantages: Fast boil. Ambidextrous use.
Disadvantages: Fast boil your fingers. Noisy. Dangerous to pour.
...to settle on the base and so make a good electrical connection. Another consequence and advantage of this design is that LEFT HANDERS can use it as easily as RIGHT HANDERS.
We got this as a replacement for the other circular based electric kettle by Haden, which was getting a bit worn but was still serviceable.
We would have got another Haden, if the usual places we buy stuff from had stocked it, but Argos said that there was a problem with the manufacture of this product and we could not find it anywhere else in Bristol.
So we went to Index shop and found this Moulinex Lyris as the nearest similar design.
This Moulinex Lyris has a button on the handle that causes the lid to rise up automatically due to being spring loaded. This might sound helpful at first, and it should be, but as a consequence of the continuous tension of the spring...

Flippin dangerous
Review of Moulinex ACZ1P1 by
flambards
Advantages: cooks fairly well
Disadvantages: Dodgy handle
...We bought this product last year when all the kids in the house were demanding chips for their tea. My other half 'the one who must be obeyed' purchased the moulinex deep fat fryer because she liked the colour (sort of a pukey yellow) Ever since we have had the fryer, the unclipable handle comes off nearly every time we take food from the frier. More often that not we get splashed with extremely hot fat. We have to make sure the children are nowhere near when using it. I keep threatening to write to moulinex and complain about it, but unless I can do it on the PC via email I probably wont bother....

Showing its age
Review of Moulinex DFB1 by
BigCheese
Advantages: Long lived
Disadvantages: A few nooks and crannies are hard to clean. Not dishwaser proof.
...After fiftenn years of service, one of the oldest surviving of my kitchen appliances is finally showing its age. It has done stirling service over the years, mainly for mixing cakes, although it does come with a range of slices and whisks. However, over the last couple of years the plastic bowl has begun to crack and a few bits have dropped off, although the motor is still going strong. I think another year or so and it will finally have to be retired. My experience of Moulinex, however, would definately push me towards buying another one from them....

^^^^^I am what I DRINK^^^^^
Review of Moulinex BKD231 Juice DUO by
noshaba_786
Advantages: Very smooth juice produced
Disadvantages: Requires very less cleaning
...My review is on the Moulinex BKD231 JUICER. This product was bought for me as a Christmas present because I love making juices. I normally spend hours crushing orange halves to make just about a glass of orange juice.
With the new Moulinex BKD231 JUICER I have no trouble in even peeling the fruits. All I have to do is put the fruit of my choice in the 'tunnel feeder' and let the machine do the hard work.
I normally add strawberries and guava pieces in and make a cocktail, it tastes delicious. The thing with fruits is whatever I put in and mix together, it will taste just as good as any other, remarkable.
The price of this product ranges from £25 - £30 from stores, with the price increasing/decreasing around sale times.
The colour of the juicer has been white, and if I correctly remember, it doesn't come in any other colour...

Moulinex multi moulinette - Kitchen magic!!
Review of Moulinex T71(01)/ AT71P1 by
sierraxstitch
Advantages: Simple to use, value for money.
Disadvantages: can omly take small quantities.
...I have owned a moulinex multi moulinette (AT71) for several years and would say it was the most useful kitchen gadget I have ever owned. It is small compact gadget which takes very little space. I use it for all my chopping and blending jobs when preparing food. It holds up to 0.5 litre of fluid, up to 16oz dry ingredients or aprox 2 cups. Great for making breadcrumbs for your gratins, chopping vegetables, making savoury spreads, pureeing fruit, blending soup or I even use mine for grating cheese! It is extremely simple to use literally a press of a button, and as all ingredients are in a sealed bowl there is no mess from splashing etc.. It is easy to clean afterwards as all 3 parts (except for the electrical unit!) can be dishwashed or immersed in warm soapy water for cleaning.
I have recently replaced my multi moulinette for around £30...

Very Useful kitchen gadget
Review of Moulinex Liquidiser/Grinder Food Processors by
Tracy57
Advantages: liquidiser as well
Disadvantages: Flavours transfer
...I have a Moulinex Liquidiser Which if you do not put the liqidising jug attachment on becomes a grinder which grins coffee, sugar from granulated into either caster or icing sugar and a host of other things can be ground as well . so all in all it is a very useful peice of kitchen eqipment. I bought it mainly as a liquidiser but I now use it as a coffee grinder in conjunction with my expresso coffee maker for really fresh coffee as now I buy beans and only grind enough to make cofee for that day.It is reasonably easy to clean but find the coffee flavour transfers to other things I grind afterwards . I solve this problem by grinding a little sugar or flour after the coffee. It is safe because unless the lid is on securely it will not work It has been good value for money as it cost in the region of £20....
