GT Aggressor XC2. What a Bike for the Money

Advantages: Strong Frame and Wheels, Tyres do not let go
Disadvantages: None really!!

...Bought this bike with my work cycle to work scheme. A great buy from Halfords. Excellent speck for the price and a very strong bike. I'm 18st 10 (253 ibs) and in my opinion this bike can handle this weight easily. Great colour Black with like a Pearlesent White, Very good speck components, Shimano Deore derauillers and Sram Truvatic Crank. Hydrolic Brakes and Discs. These will stop you instantly and do tare a little time to get used to or a flight over the bars could come along. These sqeak when covered in Muck and Water for the first few occasions, but when used this disapates. Wheels are Alex DP17 rims, Strong, Maxxis Ingnitor Tyres Grip like hell. Suntour XCR forks are ok for Cross Country riding, Not a great Jump fork, but hey Im no Jumper! (I think that if yoiu are lighter than me you could have some safe landings with these...

GT Aggressor XC.2

Advantages: Solid frame, very good brakes and smooth gears.
Disadvantages: Tyres are too chunky for road riding, if thats what your into.

...This bike is ideal for anybody looking to do any sort of offroading. It is well equipped with tektro auriga hydraulic disk brakes which are silky smooth and have plenty of braking power. The great thing about the GT is that it has a lock-out on the forks which makes riding on roads a bit easier. I find this useful as i commute on it. I chose a mountain bike because i prefered the riding position and the fact i can take it off-road if i so choose. The tyres that come on the bike are chunky enough for off roading but for road riding they have a fair bit of rolling resistance, i swapped mine over for a set of semi-slicks for road riding. This bike is well worth buying and i would reccomend it to anybody....

GT Aggressor XC

Advantages: Well built, good performace,
Disadvantages: None so far...

...I have recently bought this bike from Halfords and I am very pleased with it. I originally had an old Raleigh bike, and after that broke on me after many years of use, I decided it was time to treat myself and get a new bike. I did abit of research and landed on this bike. I'm glad I did. The bike looks like it means business. It has front suspension with a lock out facility, which is especially useful when climbing uphill. The Shimano Deore gears work well, and their isn't any annoying noises or squeaks so far. Even the hydraulic gears work silently. The price did frighten me at first, but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for I recommend buying a heavy duty lock for it aswell. I am very pleased with this bike, so much so that I am hopefully going to compete in the London to Brighton Cycle RIde...

GT Aggressor XC2

Advantages: Light, nice ride, good brakes
Disadvantages: Chain should have shield, brakes bit squeeky, only availible from halfords

...I brought this as my last bike, a saracen, died on me, it was really in a terrible mess! I brought this for £400 in Halfords, which is a pretty good deal for what you get. The technician was very helpful in there, otherwise I probably would have brought a bike from a Local Bike Store. So, what do you get for your £400 here? Well, a light and strong bike, with hyrdaulics, 24 gears, thick tyres, nice wheels with strong spokes. "GT Triple Triangle Aluminium frame with butted tubes Suntour XCR 100mm travel fork with hydraulic rebound damping and on the fly lock-out Tektro Auriga Comp hydraulic disc brakes 180/160mm rotors Shimano Deore/ Alivio 24 speed gearing Truvativ Isoflow chainset Tioga Factory XC tyres WTB SX24 rims SDG Bel Air saddle GT over size bar and stem" All in all, a good bike for you money. So far, been so good...

Mountain Biking on Real Mountains

Advantages: A holiday of a lifetime, lovely people, lovely place, lots of fun
Disadvantages: none, even though I fell off my bike!

...Me and my boyfriend went on a mountain-biking holiday back in May 2000 and I still have the memories warming my heart. It really was a perfect time. We were looking for something a little bit different to do for our summer break, perhaps including some sort of activity. I entered the term "alternative holidays" in Google's search engine and found the website www.mountain-beach.co.uk which instantly grabbed my attention. They offer a variety of holidays for mountain-bikers; to Greece, Canada, the Alps and Costa Rica. Also some weekend breaks in Yorkshire. What I found most appealing was the fact that they claimed riders of any level would enjoy the Greek and Alpine holidays (the Canadian and Costa Rican holidays include some more challenging routes). My boyfriend has a certain amount of cycling experience in that he cycles to work...

The Blue Mountains

Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: nothing

...This next review is on my time on The Blue Mountains National Park, located in Sydney Australia. A few friends and I had decided to hire a van and take a tour of the national park, as we had been recommended it by several people we had met along the way. I am usually a fan of national parks; it gives you a chance to take in the scenic view, it gives you a chance to relax and unwind if you have had a busy week, and you even get to see some wildlife. It?s a great experience, which allows you to camp overnight, whilst also have a magnificent driving experience. History & Park Info: The park covers 267,954 hectares, which included several mountains and rivers along the trek. The highest point of the park is Mount Werong (1,215 m), and there are some breathtaking views from the top. The area became a national park in 1932, and ever since...

Do you NEED that mountain bike?

Advantages: VFM, Light, good components, nice seating position
Disadvantages: Not a mountain bike

...I already owned an ageing Raleigh racing bike, and I always felt that I would enjoy cycling more if I was not battling against the bike so much. So this year, I bought myself a San Rafael City Bike, by Marin. I am suprised to see that Marin were not already in the ciao headings. I don't know a great deal about bikes, but I know enough to know I like this bike! It has front suspension, and a mountain bike look, but with nice road tyres. It is lovely and light, and has excellent push/pull gear changers - bit like my old grifter! I like the upright seating position. I am using the bike to go to work, and leisure cycling at the weekends. I wont be doing much off roading, but I know I could go off-road if necessary. Not mountain climbing, but honestly - how many people with mountain bikes actually use them for that purpose...

On Yer Bike!

Advantages: Great fun, slow, Harry loves it
Disadvantages: Noisy, siren is a pain

...Now, Harry isn't what I would call a daredevil. In fact, he's not into anything that moves too fast or does things that he doesn't expect to happen, pretty much like any 2 and a half year old I expect. So as you can imagine, I wasn't overly thrilled when I found out last year that Harry's great aunt had bought him a motorised motor bike. Please bear in mind last Christmas he was only 21 months old and consequently pretty small and unconfident, but nonetheless, the Halfords Mini Racer Bike was on its way to us courtesy of my parents. It wasn't something we expected to keep for long but funnily enough, its now become Harry's favourite ever toy! The Halfords Mini Racer Bike is available from the Halfords website, and in-store but I can't really say I have ever seen one when I have been into a Halfords. My brother works for Halfords...

Mountain Language

Advantages: Clear and important political message
Disadvantages: Direct, dim, and disturbing

...Mountain Language (1988) By Harold Pinter (1930- ) Mountain Language is a very short one-act play by the English playwright Harold Pinter. The first scene shows a young woman and an elderly woman as they go to visit one of their relatives who was accused of speaking the forbidden mountain language. The older woman was bitten by one of the dogs in the prison, and yet the officer and sergeant torture her and her companion with stupid questions and harass the latter sexually. We see in the second scene that the elderly woman was in the prison to visit her son. The woman tries to talk to her son with the mountain language she is used to, for she doesn't know the capital language, yet the officer starts jabbing her with a stick. Still, she manages to tell her son that his wife and three kids are waiting for him. In the third scene...

High up a mountain

Advantages: Great vocals. tracks
Disadvantages: One more ballad?

...**Introduction** This is the third instalment of my Yolanda Adams reviews after reviewing "Believe" and "Day By Day" which were two of the three Yolanda Adams albums I requested for review a couple of weeks ago. Mountain High Valley Low is the third and final instalment for now and was the the first of the three released in 2000 compared to 2001 for Believe and 2005 for Day by Day, So with the release of her latest album this year I decided to complete the three requested album reviews now. **Mountain High...Valley Low** This is Yolanda Adam's major record label debut courtesy of the Elektra label. With a major label comes major names and that's the same here with two major names from the world of Music. Joining her on the album is the phenomenally successful production duo of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis As well as Keith Thomas. This...
