Canon Pixma MP190 Good value, decent Printer

Advantages: Very good price, good print quality
Disadvantages: Does not come with USB cable to connect to computer.

...I have just bought and finished installing this printer, so I have decided to share my views on it. I bought it at the local Tesco Extra, after some research I found that they offered it at the lowest price, at £30. I also got 10% as they only had the display one left in store. However, as I bought it in store I did not get free delivery and had to carry it the 2 miles home, something I wont recommend if your arms get tired easily. It comes in a large box, and is well packaged so it does not rattle about in the box. You are provided with the Pixma MP190 printer, 2 ink cartridges (one black and one colour), setup CD-ROM, Printed documents and a power cord. You will need to buy a separate USB cable to connect the printer to your laptop or PC, something I found out to my annoyance after carrying it all the way home and excited to get...

Amazon MP3 is an excellent alternative to 'itunes' and 'napster'

Advantages: DRM free MP3s play on all computers / mp3 players, and copied endlessly, huge variety, good prices
Disadvantages: Download program needed for multiple song downloads, but this is also occurs with main rivals

...I don't have an ipod, I am very happy with my MP3 player and don't plan to buy an ipod. All of my music is organised in Windows Media Player,and I wanted to keep it that way. I didn't want to mess up my carefully organised system, but I really wanted to start downloading music (without doing so illegally). I didn't want the itunes or napster programs on my computer, then I discoverend Amazon MP3 music download. Most importantly - Amazon MP3s are DRM free. DRM (digital rights management) found on itunes and napster tracks, involve software that restricts the tracks being played to the computer they were originally purchased on (and 2 or 3 nominated computers that also have naptster / itunes installed). Olympus FE-190- trustworthy but better money to be spent

At the time it was a very good digital camera, with a 6.3 mega pixel and the fetures to change the tones, with different settings, like portrait, lanscape and night mode. It also has the ability to film short movies. However at this time, and looking at the price the olympus FE-190 is selling for, i would not recommend it. Yes olympus is a very well known and loyal brand, but the FE-190 is only a 6.3 megapixel, and when the flash is needed, the battery has only roughly around 4 hours photographing time. Normally when there is natural lighting, the FE-190 takes crisp and lovely pictures, makes them more vibrant and seemingly full of life, which is ideal for family photos and to make memorable pictures. Downloading made Easy

Advantages: Free software, easy to use, resumes broken downloads
Disadvantages: Search function is a little slow

...The only draw back with my ISP (NTL) is that after two hours you automatically get disconnected, this can be annoying particularly if you are in the middle of downloading something. But at least I get 24/7 free connection and I can always re-connect. Back to the point of annoyance though. Downloading a large file on a 56K modem can be at times a little slow dependant upon where you are downloading from so to be cut off half way through is frustrating. I have tried several download managers to help with this problem. These are programs which look after your downloading and can pick up where they left off if you do get a severed connection during the process. Download Accelerator (DA from now on) is one of the best I have come across mainly because it works and has so far not let me down. The program is Freeware and available...
