The player will accept MP3 and WMA (these are the only formats I use) With WMA files, I have achieved approx 350 tracks on the 1GB memory. Playing time on a single AAA battery is approx 15 -18 hours, which is pretty good. Sandisk would have done better by building in a rechargable battery into this player. However, having a changable battery makes it more flexible if you're away from a computer for a long time. The battery cover is a little flimsy for my liking. Don't get me wrong, it won't fall off, but i would keep the player in the supplied plastic cover jus to be safe. ...I purchased this head unit as a replacement for the factory fitted model, which lacked a CD player. The initial installation was quite easy, though the instructions given left room for improvement. My main criticism of this product would have to be, therefore, the standard of the documentation. That said, the unit itself is of a very high standard. As well as supporting audio and data CDs, it has a built in removable MP3 player, which doubles as a security device. It has auxiliary input, and output for four channels at 40W RMS. The auxiliary input is located on the back of the head unit, so may require some customised wiring in the car to use it with an iPod, though this should not be difficult. From reading previous reviews on ITV Player I was expecting lengthy breaks with lots of adverts sporadically placed throughout the programme. This wasn?t the case; the adverts were scheduled as they would be on the television. However they weren?t as lengthy. For example the Aviva sponsorship advert was followed by 3 short Natwest banking adverts before the programme resumed. The quality of the programme wasn?t as it would be on your LCD/Plasma television, but it wasn?t too bad. ...The year was 2001. Where I had no taste in modern music at all. (And I still don't to be honest). A 'French' house song reached number 2 in the UK Charts. The song was Starlight, and in all my life I had never heard a song as good as that could bring me in a happy mood. Considering that I think that Starlight is quite underrated, it didn't get enough fame - it only reached number 2. That made The Supermen Lovers a One Hit Wonder. But Starlight stayed in the top 10 European charts for an outstanding three weeks. But that still didn't give it enough attention. I think that people should reconsider that Starlight is a great pop song, it got me into more of The Supermen Lovers songs that I admire myself. My first MD player... and it's great!

If you want to give yourself more space on each disc then you can change the quality of the music to make the files smaller. To record sounds, you can use quick mode that allows the recordings to be recorded quickly. The battery used is a rechargeable Ni-MH type which you charge via the included cradle. You can also use the option that the cradle offers you of adding an addition 'AA' type battery via a connectable battery dock which will be good for those that plan to spend time away from the recharging cradle. You can either drag and drop files onto the player just as you would to any other drive or windows media player detects it as a removable audio device and allows you to sync tracks direct to the player in either mp3 or wma format. Sound quality is absolutely fantastic with good volume range and I am now an mp3 player addict. Thanks to the players basic features battery life is good and I have been using mine for in excess of 5 hours with the supplied battery. At less than £5 this is one hell of a bargain. A cracking little mp3 player that does the basics brilliantly and with 256mb it can hold upto around 80 tracks.
