M P I O U Nothing (UPDATED)

Advantages: Looks Good, Sounds Good, Expansion Slot, Extensive Features
Disadvantages: Interface, Supplied Headphones, No USB2 support.

...In the current overcrowded market of digital music players all begging for your attention, how does a little known Korean brand called MPIO and their FL100 player fair? Well if it?s based on the brand and reputation alone, it?s already lost the battle (along with hundreds of other digital music players) to Apple and it?s incredibly popular iPod (and soon to be released Mini iPod). The iPod is to us what the Sony Walkman was in the early 80?s, the benchmark portable player of the day. The MPIO FL100 is a solid state player which means it has no moving parts. Hard disk based players (such as the iPod and Creative?s Zen) have moving parts which make them prone to skipping. The good thing about solid state players is you can go jogging or the gym with them and not worry about the music skipping. The downside though, is the storage...

MG100, The Best!

Advantages: Plays videos, LCD color screen, easy to use interface
Disadvantages: Small screen, video files need to be converted

...The MPIO MG100 is great! The possibilities are so wide out! My experience with this object has been great so far. It has great sound quality, a great interface and the ability to do so much! Features --------------------- - Can play a wide variety of music files - Can play video files - Voice recorder - LCD color screen with easy to use interface - File browser so finding the right files is so much easier - Easy to use pad so selecting the right things is easier - Can be charged almost everywhere, PC, game console (Xbox 360), car or USB charger Dis-advantages ---------------------------- - Regular video formats not supported, to play a certain video file, you must first convert it to .ASF using the converter included - Smaller screen, not very good for watching videos Advantages...

Review of Mpio ML100 / FY900 1GB

Nice idea, but unstable

Advantages: You can create your own directory structure, holds lots of Mp3s, can be used as file storage
Disadvantages: unreliable

...the power ran out. Which was creepy. If it wasn?t for these problems (and lets face it, ?It Not Working? is a pretty major problem!) I quite liked the Archos! I liked the way you could organise your files anyway you liked in folders like on any other hard drive, rather than the player organise them by tag. And the way you could use Music Match playlists (which is my Mp3 prog of choice anyway) although they seem to have to be in the root. I suppose it IS possible that I was unlucky with the 3 I got (from 2 different stores!), but sadly I think that probably all hard drive based players have stability problems. I now have an MPIO DME 128MB + 128MB SM and it?s fantastic!...

Kiiro 64mb MP3 player review

Advantages: Small, lightweight, enclosed
Disadvantages: Stiff buttons, lost easily!

...I have had this player for well over a year. Although it has been replaced (by an "Mpio FL100"), I can still remember what it was like to use. Here are the points: - It is small and very compact - arguably THE smallest MP3 player - It records voice through the in-built mic. Quality is good, but not good enough to record music satisfactorily, voice's are clear if spoken directly into the player, if you're trying to record a conversation over a metre away don't expect much to get picked up. - The 64mb memory allows around 15-18 songs onto the player. Obviously not a lot, but songs can be changed in a few minutes by plugging in the cable supplied - not the easiest or quickest method of data transfer - but in 4 minutes I could change the songs around (including time choosing which songs to put on!). It also only plays MP3s, no other...

MPIO MP3 Player

Advantages: Good sound quality, very easy to use, ability to add extra memory.
Disadvantages: memory cards are expensive, battery life is short.

...I got my mp3 player for Christmas this year, and I havent stopped listening to it since! The MPIO has 64 megs of internal memory and stores an average of about 16 songs. You can also buy unlimited external memory cards, which are, unfortunately, quite expensive. The MPIO comes with a CD ROM which installs a program called MPIO Desk. It allows you to view the directories and their contents on your computer, so after you open the directory where you keep your mp3s, all you have to do is select the mp3s you want to put onto the player and click the "Download" button. Each mp3, depending on file size and length, takes approximately a minute and a half to download to the player. The sound quality of the MPIO is excellent, and the player itself is very small and lightweight, so is ideal to carry around with you. It has an LCD which...
