MS Xbox Elite review

Advantages: quality product, easy to setup, lots of fun.
Disadvantages: cant think of any yet, besides game choice for women!

I'm pretty new to the Xbox world, and got this as all my mates at work would rave on about it all the time, so I dived in and used up all my savings and got one. Games can be quite pricey, but I've found that buying them off friendly auction sites, can save a hell of a lot of money. Setting up was a doddle, I'm pretty good with computers/electrical stuff, but I'm quite sure anyone could manage it with or without the instructions. I had a few problems with Xbox live, but that was just myself, as I'd already registered online at their website and used my email address with a different gamertag to the one when I originally setup my Xbox, but Xbox sorted this out for me after a phone call to their UK support centre (numbers on their website). Windows 7: Is what Microsoft is saying really true?

Advantages: Runs really fast, Some very good features, any decent machine can run it.
Disadvantages: The Price. It looks like vista and it really is just a brush up on the old OS

But is it really better, below is my review of a few sections which I believe is most important and compare it to older versions. Speed: 9/10 Much faster than Vista. To compare with the Vista OS, on Vista it took around 30 secs to 45 secs to boot up and log me in. Now on Windows 7 it takes 20 - 30 secs to boot up. Shut down is also so much faster. Vista = 15 secs... Windows 7 = 5 secs..... So there is a huge improvement. Also when running programs or browsing the internet you feel like this Operating System is very smooth and just does what you want (most of the time) Program Compatablilty: 8/10 Most Programs that run on Vista will run on Windows 7 (32-bit) very well. Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite - Best console ever made!

Advantages: Looks good/Good storage/Great games/Great graphics/can play films and videos/music/lots lots more.
Disadvantages: Very expensive accesories, especially the wireless adaptor

...the reason why I never even considered the PS3 when I was choosing my next-gen console, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that I would never get to play such games as Halo3 or Fable. The xbox live marketrplace is a great feature, it alows you to download themes, demos movie trailers,game trailers and even whole movies. Ofcourse some of this will come at a cost, which in most cases is a complete rip off if you are only buying things such as gamer pictures. This is the only real problem with the xbox 360, the price of the accesories :S. As with many things, microsoft liek to charge excessive prices for simple accesories and force you to buy their £60 versions by mnaking the cheaper ones not work. ...Problems It is best to get these out of the way first, no? I have had several Xboxes. The first suffered from a "three-quarters" fault that meant it did not work at all. This was a well-known fault in the machines, and so even though the machine was out of warranty, Microsoft would fix it. However, in order to get it fixed, we had to go through an unnecessarily complex process with shipping labels, etc. (which did not work from the emails we received), but eventually we got it sorted.
