MSI K7n420Pro nForce Motherboard

Advantages: Value for money, competent integrated hardware (especially the sound)
Disadvantages: Geforce2 MX a little dated for todays games

...I was building a PC on a budget over a year ago, and was looking for a solution that offered a good price/performance ratio. It was then that I stumbled across a new concept in motherboards - nVidias nForce chipset. >Overview< --------------- This MSI motherboard utilises nVidia's nForce chipset. nVidias nForce (now superceded by the nForce2 and 3) was and is a milestone in motherboard technology. The MSI K9N Neo-F A great mid priced board.

Advantages: Easy to install, reliable and cheap for such a high quality product.
Disadvantages: Oddly placed FDD header

first motherboard. brillaint.

Advantages: absolutley stunning. easy to set up.
Disadvantages: havent found any.

...I used this motherboard on my first home made computer. I must say that it worked a treat. I fitted to it an AMD 6000+ X2 processor,4GB R.A.M, 1000GB Hard drive space, Blue Ray Reader. 512MB graphics card...and some other small components. I have never seen a motherboard before that came with absolutley everything you would need one one for this price, 7.1 surround sound, integrated graphics including a HDMI slot, 4USB ports on the back... it just had everything. And above all that It went together like a computer should, very easy with no problems. It took me about 2 hours to built it, this wasnt includint the operating system though. I had absolutley no problems with it what so ever. I have read some other reviews about this motherboard before I brought it and they have stated that the BIOS is a tad confusing, i havent found it...

Review of MSI K9AG Neo2-Digital - motherboard - ATX - AMD 690G

Micro ATX board

Advantages: Good stable board
Disadvantages: Not many PCI slots

.... The board is a Socket A board so support the AMD Athlon up processor. The FSB supported is 266 MHz which today is by far not the best speed but it is certainly capable of running at high speeds. The board can also be over clocked to run faster so if you are into pushing your computer to the limits then this board is capable of doing that. The board also contains onboard LAN so there is no need to buy a network interface card. Considering the board?s low price and it is packed with feature this can satisfy users of all levels. The board is easy to install and the motherboard manual provided explains everything you need to know in great depth and in an understandable way. Overall I would highly recommend this board as it is stable easily overclockable and packed with features and for the price you cannot really go wrong. Well done MSI....

My Dream Machine Motherboard

Advantages: Supports.... Everything!

...Welcome to the fourth installment of my computer component reviews! My motherboard is the 865PE Neo2 - P. I'm assuming that this is the same, it certainly looks the same. MSI is a highly respected motherboard manufactorer and have incorporated the intel 865PE chipset into this fantastic motherboard. Thanks to Rabid's suggestion, I went to the MSI section of overclockers. There I found the one he suggested, below it was this baby. For just £10 more I could have dual DDR RAM, as well as a few other minor enhancements. This board has all the standard features, like AGP 8x, ATA 133 support and 5 PCI ports. It's also got 4 ram slots (with dual DDR ram support and supporting up to 500Mhz RAM on overclock speeds). It supports all pentium 4 chips including the new Extreme and Prescott processors. ASUS AMD Athlon Motherboard

Advantages: HDTV output, supports AMDs Cool 'n' Quiet
Disadvantages: Only one lan

...The ASUS M2NPV-VM Motherboard for AMD single-core Athlon 64/ Sempron and Dual-core Athlon 64 X2/ Athlon FX processors using socket AM2 is very user friendly, I went with AMDs 64 x2 3800+ processor in the beginning then moved up to 4200+ 2Gb Ram without any hassle, very easy to setup and fits easily in a standard ATX case. A possible downside to the board is that it has a limited number of slots due to being a micro ATX sized board. That's not a big deal for me as the only two cards I'll be buying in the future is Graphics and a extra Lan card.
