Advantages: Taste, low price and wide range Disadvantages: Smell, smell and smell.
...In a never ending quest for some deliciousness without the dreaded calories The Chicken has stumbled across yet another weird concoction to tingle the most picky of tastebuds, the 'Mug Shot'.
No, this is not a dodgy picture of me the last time I was arrested, oh no, it's a snack you make in a mug, not unlike those dreaded Pot Noodle thingies.
Wait .... don't run, it might be made in the same way as a Pot Noodle but it isn't half as dire I swear.
I found this little snack courtesy of my local Tescos store whilst I was browsing the dreaded diet shelves, these would have been overlooked if it wasn't for the eagle eyes of the Twins shouting 'Want it, Want it', where they get such things from I will never know.
I picked up the offensive looking bright orange packet and almost dismissed it straight away. On the front was...

Review of Mug Shots
Advantages: Will go with any colour scheme Disadvantages: none
...A porcelain factory was established in Worcester in 1751 and gained the name of a fine manufacturer of tableware. The name Royal added as it made porcelain for royal tables. Vases and other objects are also made.
In November 2008 the firm went into administration and bought up by Portmeirion.
Royal Worcester have made many good items including these classic white mugs. I have drunk out of these several times when visiting a friend?s house.
These white mugs are made of porcelain. They are neither, a thin bone china mug or a thick pottery one the thickness somewhere between.
These mugs are a classic straight sided shape. There is a very slight smooth lip to the cup. The handle is well positioned and a good size to grip easily, each one will contain 0.34L of drink.
This is not a really exciting mug, but being white it will go...
Advantages: cheap, quick, taste not too bad Disadvantages: not suitable for people with gluten and lactose intolerences, not gourmet food
...It is one of the biggest dilemmas of the working day and it is not the big quandary of whether to sneak off hone early (Would I do a thing like that?). The real dilemma is what to have for lunch. There are times when you can not face another cheese or ham sandwich, you do not have the time to make the darn things and grudge paying £2.26 for one. So what are the other options? You could buy a microwave meal but maybe your work does not have a microwave. You could nip down to Greggs for a pasty but maybe there is no Greggs near you. However I have a viable solution for the lunchtime dilemma. Buy yourself a packet of Mug Shots!
Mug Shots: what are those?
Mug Shots are a range of pasta and noodle snacks. They are a cross between two infamous culinary monstrosities, the Pot Noodle and the Cupa soup. It has the same sort of contents as...

Review of Mug Shots
...got a good sized mug of tea at my friends the other day in a Whittard of Chelsea Hand-Painted Stripe Jumbo Mug This mug measures D9cm x H11cm
This mug is not a fine china mug but a sturdy ceramic one.
This mug as you can guess from the title is a striped one the stripes go around the circumference of the mug not up and down. The stripes are fairly thin orange, blue, yellow, white, the handle orange and white. The inner glaze of the mug is orange.
This mug is one of a mix and match range from Wittards of Chelsea. There is a different style of mug in the same design and also a matching tea pot, matching coasters , matching plates , matching cups of differing styles all with the stripe design , Also if you wish to mix your designs Wittards do a spotty set or a Geometric design the same shape and colours these would not look...
Advantages: Instant suppleness and even skin tone Disadvantages: Leaves skin a little greasy after application
...As I have mentioned in other reviews, I tend to have a great many issues with my skin which is ridiculously sensitive. I was purchasing my usual Lab Series products from boots.com and had the option of one product for free. I threw caution to the wind and tried something new (I lead such a rock 'n' roll life!).
So, I purchased the Nickel moisturising and energising mask which is also known as 'Mug Shot #2' (there are 4 mask products in this range).
Nickel is range of products that have been specifically created for men as well as being a spa for men as well. There are 3 spas' - London, Paris and New York - I haven't been to one yet but when I do I will post a review for that as well!
Nickel categorise their products as follows:
Everyday
Shave
Anti-aging
Rescue
Body
Fragrance
Gifts
Th e moisturising and energising...
Advantages: Less washing up, keeps coffee warm Disadvantages: apparently not dishwasher safe
...Once in a while I find something whose simplicity is exceded only by its usefulness. The Smartcafe cafetiere mug pushed all my buttons and has been in constant use since I found it last weekend.
Background
*************
I drink coffee, my husband drinks tea. It's our only really significant incompatibility. At home, I pretty much only drink cafetiere coffee. Lest you think that's extravagant, I should say I buy cheap ground coffee in Aldi. I have a variety of small cafetieres but I'm always a bit annoyed that they're a bit too big for a single cup and I hate waste. As I make a cup every few hours, I seem to spend my life washing my cafetiere. My other problem is that I get distracted really easily and my coffee often gets cold before I get round to drinking.
so.......................(drum roll)...............this new mug solves all...
Advantages: Keeps your coffee warm, easy to clean. Disadvantages: Girlfriend borrows it :-)
...I'm not one for spending hours in the kitchen, so with the possible exception of the kettle there isn't really much in there I could write a review about. I love to drink coffee and tea though and when I'm home alone and fancy a change from the instant coffee I find this item is particularly handy.
I'm no coffee snob, as I say I can drink the instant too, but I do enjoy a good coffee and I like to buy beans and grind them at home (coffee grinder, I do use more things in the kitchen!) There's enough washing up to do every day without buying some complicated machinery to make coffee with, so I stick with a cafetiere, but that's a bit much when it's just me around.
Quite by chance I wandered into a Whittard's some years ago and browsing the sale I came across the SmartCafe Hot Mug. I think it cost me about £1.99 at the time and it has...
Advantages: It can make you much more careful Disadvantages: It can be very distressing
...I think most of us wonder how we?d react if something bad happened to us suddenly; and I think, too, that most of us believe it never will. Certainly, when I was mugged just under a year ago my reaction was not at all what I would have predicted.
One of my daughters works in Shannon, and I often pop over to see her on a Ryanair cheap flight. She?d told me that Galway was a fascinating city, and that on Saturdays there was a big street market there.
"You?ll just love the cheese stall," she said on the phone. "It?s stinky old cheeses from all over the world."
How well Vanessa knows me. Stinky old cheeses are one of my passions. The Saturday after my arrival we set off. It was a lovely day, free from the rain which so often falls in that part of Ireland. We planned to look round the city, buy some cheese (stinky...
Advantages: as good as the real thing Disadvantages: none i can think of
...I was browsing the aisles of Safeway the other day, looking for something quick and easy to take to work for my break time. I usually get a Crosse and Blackwell Snack stop, but was in the mood for something a bit different.
Of course, I have had Cup A Soup before. I was going to get my favourite flavour off the shelf, which happens to be Minestrone, when I noticed Safeway's own brand at about 20p cheaper. You might not think 20p is a lot, but when you have no money like me then every little helps!
What do they look like?
Well, this brand comes in a green box. At the top of the front panel of the box is the old red and white Safeways logo, and underneith this is a picture of an orange mug, filled with this gorgeous soup.
Above the mug is the word 'Minestrone', in white lettering. Across the mug in a line of swirly steam are...
