Multi-Media Journalism at Bournemouth University

...I am a current, first-year student at Bournemouth University, on the BA (Hons) Multi-Media Journalism course. I felt that it was about time I told you about the university and the course, as I always have "Journalism student" in my about me section, and often mention the fact that I am studying it here. So without further ado, I shall explain the course. Location of the programme The Multi-Media Journalism course takes place on Bournemouth University's Talbot Campus. The Media School is based in Weymouth House. In the last couple of years, an extension was built on the building, and it now looks very similar to the BBC Television Centre building in terms of style. Review of Multimedia Journalism

Excellent Multimedia Keyboard

Advantages: Ability to quickly switch between programs
Disadvantages: none

.... - then along the top are shortcuts to MyDocs,MyPics,MyMusic,media player, mail, webhome, messenger. As well as a mute button and what I call video player keys (stop, play, advance etc) - there are three other useful little shortcuts above the number pad for calculator, log off and sleep mode. Bad Points? The only one I can think of, and it's just a matter of personal preference, is the position of the end/home/pageup/down keys. It's a slightly different configuration to what I've used for years and I keep hitting the wrong key. Of course it's also slightly wider than basic keyboards so it may not be suitable for you if space is a consideration. So, if you use multimedia/email a lot, this keyboard's the one for you, it's comfortable to use, easy to install and is in the cheap-medium price range....

MS natural multimedia keybaord

Advantages: easy to pick up, no compatabilty issues
Disadvantages: some buttons seem pointless

...was close, i generally have the Function lock on, which makes the function keys take there normal purpose. The layout of the keyboard is good, this is the first natural keyboard i have had and i have taken to it very well. if you have not had one of these type of keyboards before and you can not touch type then you may find it more difficult to use and so may be better off going for the standard multimedia keyboard. I have been using this keyboard for a few weeks now and not had a single problem, but then i can never remember having a problem with a keyboard. The keys are not to hard to press, good on the old rsi again, but still give that satisfying click when you press them. The whole keyboard feels sturdy, as though you could drop it on the floor with no problems (not that would suggest doing this). I certainly recomend this...

Multimedia Magic

Advantages: Does a whole lot more than anything else out there
Disadvantages: You could pay more than you should

...After a brief, yet enjoyable, foray into the Café Ciao! and the food section I once again find myself back in electronics based sections ( no big surprises there ) this time to write about a little gem of a portable Mp3 player that is so much more. Jukebox Multimedia by ARCHOS has been one of the best purchases I have made recently and I am not just talking about the price. Fortunately enough for me I am somewhat of a bargain hunter and don?t just accept the first price I am given. For this reason I will tell you that you can get this a lot cheaper than what some places are charging. I first checked Dabs.com and they were charging £331.34 with shipping and handling ( eqilivent to $530 ). How they have the gall to charge this amount when the home site charges $279:95 ( about the equivalent of £175 ) I don?t know but needless to say...

Advantages: reliable, multimedia functions, camera quality, style
Disadvantages: file management, joy stick, ringtones

...Overall, this is an excellent phone. It would be hard to find enough major faults for it not to be worth buying. Good points: 1. Operating System - it is mostly excellent. Sony Ericsson have crammed so many ways to navigate the phone that you find something new everyday that makes it easier to use. When you get used to the phone, it's so quick to get around. You can do things like check how many messages have been sent or check the battery life in percentage. They're just little things, but they make things alot more convenient. 2. Reliability - right, this phone never breaks! I work for an independent mobile phone retailer and have never seen one of these in for a warranty fix and so far have had no problems with my own phone. 3. Multimedia - loads of it! Great Multimedia Wireless Router from Belkin

Advantages: Reliable, Fast, Easy to configure, Lots of features, USB for sharing drives
Disadvantages: Bit expensive, Not full speed with every machine

...the box) boasts "Storage Performance Networking". This means it's supposed to be fast for multimedia. The router itself has a USB port, which lets me plug in flash drives and USB hard drives enabling everyone on the network to access the files on the drive. It does require Belkin's Storage Manager software to be installed on the machines first though. Once installed, assuming you're connected to the network, the software seems to just pick up the drive and it shows up in My Computer as a network drive. I've played some video files on my PC and laptop at the same time and all the video plays smoothly so the bandwidth is sufficient. ...Hi and welcome to my review of the multi-media keyboard from microsoft. This is a great ergonomic keyboard and is also great if you want a stylish keyboard for normal home use. They keyboard has some of the lastest features for a mobile with the best in styling and a great look and design. I recently purchased two of these keyboards as my old keyboards have got in a really bad state and needed replacing. I thought it would be a cheapy keyboard but as soon i got home and had a look at them i saw how a great value keyboard it was. handy multimedia feature laptop

Advantages: good performance wise, good exterior look, grat for multimedia use
Disadvantages: no eSATA port, slippery touchpad, interior is boaring

...great for multimedia use. It gives a widescreen display for which this notebook is great to watch movies and on. Veiwing angles are all perfect but the lower viewing angle give some bad colors when the screen is tilted back. But thats good enough!! Ports and Features: It was strange to know that the 15" studio notebook had a eSATA port but this Dell Studio 17 does not have it. Instead there are 5 USB ports i think thats more than enough for Laptop computer. Other ports included in the Studio 17 is a mini firewire port, VGA, HDMI, Ethernet, Express port, and a Card Reader. Apart from this Studio 17 also has ATI's Mobility Radeon Graphics card which can help video acceleration and games to be powered. It also has a built in 2.0 MP webcam.
