Realplayer is the second-most used multimedia player, second to the windows one. Real have their own file types, real movies is one of the most common. I find it much better than Windows Media Player, the main reason being that it uses less RAM (system resources), therefore it runs much quicker on slower computers (like mine). Review of Multimedia Journalism

A great multimedia player

Advantages: Looks nice, will play anything you throw at it, excellent video quality
Disadvantages: Small hard drive

...I bought the Cowon A2 about a year ago and I must say that I am very impressed with the product. It is quite expensive compared to other portable video players out there and the hard drive is rather small also (20 & 30GB) but these things aside, the Cowon A2 is a great player. The Cowon A2 is comfortable in the hand with the buttons just at the right place if you are right-handed. Although some might say the Cowon A2 is quite heavy, I personally didn't find this. The player is attractive, a mix of white and silver, but is not as simplistic as say the iPod. The words 'Portable Multimedia Player' are written on the front which make the Cowon A2 look more technical. For those without a DVD recorder of a VCR this service offers an excellent opportunity to catch up. This service was a new experience for me and having read several reviews as to the poor quality of the programmes screened I wasn?t expecting an awful lot. However I made my way to ITV.co.uk and followed the link for ITV Player. The website is extremely accessible and very user friendly. The ITV Player link takes you to a sub site specifically adapted to allow the user to find the programme/show they wish to watch and then to watch it. I was seeking Wuthering Heights, Part 2 having seen Part 1 last Sunday evening. The show wasn?t available online...

The Player - The Supermen Lovers

Advantages: Starlight. No doubt about that!
Disadvantages: Well, there are some songs that none of us like...

...The year was 2001. Where I had no taste in modern music at all. (And I still don't to be honest). A 'French' house song reached number 2 in the UK Charts. The song was Starlight, and in all my life I had never heard a song as good as that could bring me in a happy mood. Considering that I think that Starlight is quite underrated, it didn't get enough fame - it only reached number 2. That made The Supermen Lovers a One Hit Wonder. But Starlight stayed in the top 10 European charts for an outstanding three weeks. But that still didn't give it enough attention. I think that people should reconsider that Starlight is a great pop song, it got me into more of The Supermen Lovers songs that I admire myself. Which is why The Player is the best album The Supermen Lovers has made, and the first as well. People who like Starlight might consider...

Excellent Multimedia Keyboard

Advantages: Ability to quickly switch between programs
Disadvantages: none

.... - then along the top are shortcuts to MyDocs,MyPics,MyMusic,media player, mail, webhome, messenger. As well as a mute button and what I call video player keys (stop, play, advance etc) - there are three other useful little shortcuts above the number pad for calculator, log off and sleep mode. Bad Points? The only one I can think of, and it's just a matter of personal preference, is the position of the end/home/pageup/down keys. It's a slightly different configuration to what I've used for years and I keep hitting the wrong key. Of course it's also slightly wider than basic keyboards so it may not be suitable for you if space is a consideration. So, if you use multimedia/email a lot, this keyboard's the one for you, it's comfortable to use, easy to install and is in the cheap-medium price range....

...The iRiver U10 1GB is a really good product. I got it as a gift over a year ago now and I just feel this multi-function media player went from strength to strength in the way I've been using it. At first I was mostly using it as an MP3 player but there is so much more to that small device I now wish I had a model with a larger capacity. It comes with headphones, remote control and TV cradle (although I understand this is optional). Adequate USB cables are also provided for PC use. What you can use it for? Music, videos, pictures, text, voice memo recordings, radio and Flash games .. In an iPod world it is quite refreshing to see iRiver with its U10 and other devices, have managed to design a nice range of attractive and performant products. It's the perfect travel companion. I'm definitely recommending the U10...

In Media Player, I scroll through songs and playlists and select my next listen. In Word & Acrobat Reader, it's really just a big scroll knob, with the click & rotate's set up for page up / page down, while in Outlook, I use it to scroll through folders and messages. Some of the more powerful key commands in applications can be found under its "Help" section, but the possibilities are endless... The next option for me is to set it up to edit video with the Powermate functioning as a jog/shuttle wheel and using the button to "cut". Watch this space...
