...This Multimix not only is a blender but it is a hand mixer, kneader, and a chopper. With the M 800 models you get a hand mixer base, this is what makes the attachments work. This base has a non-skid bottom, this prevents slipping and has a fairly long cord. It also has three speeds plus a power pulse. The attachments are a hand blender with a beaker. two dough hooks (but these are pretty naff as they produce heavy dough), two beaters, the chopper attachment has a cover, blade insert, chopper bowl with anti-skid base. The mixer performs the duties of a blender and hand mixer admirably. When purchasing a hand mixer I look for power and durability. This mixer has both. Review of Braun M880M Handmixers

Pro quality home recording at home on a budget

Advantages: Good value and flexible mixer, works well with PC. Cubase is a nice bonus.
Disadvantages: Knobs not sliders, no MP3 encoder with Cubase but these are minor details

...this is only in case you want to connect a second PC. KNOBS & DIALS There are 4 shared inputs for either XLR(3 pin mic) or line(guitar style jack), each with it's own adjustable pre-amp and 75Hz high pass filter. There's also a phantom power switch at the back of the unit if you use studio condenser microphones that require +48V. The other 4 connections are two stereo line ins. Technically this only gives you 6 separate inputs (hence there are only 6 lines of knobs on the Alesis multimix 8) when it's a so called 8 track mixer but that's the way it goes I'm afraid. I know, I always found it confusing when my friend would tell me his 8 track could only record 4 simultaneous tracks and it's a throwback to the old tape multi-track systems. A Mixer with Braun!!

Advantages: useful attachments, easy to clean, quick

I have had trouble finding the actual model for pricing purposes, but found one for £39.99 on www.thepromotionzone.com. Annoyingly, the picture does not show the stirrer! Sorry! I have also included a picture of the wall mount. Im sure there will be different prices wherver you go. Around £40 is the top end of the scale, I think. It's great!
