...I arrived on the Dutch National carrier KLM and was quite impressed with our arrival off 24L via the inner taxiway and directly onto the airbridge..quite impressive, from touchdown to unloading was about 4 mins..... The Airport was quite large, and is in the centre of a Parallell Runway system, very long terminal buildings lead to a maze of corridoors and escalators, however, my arrival was well handled and within 12 mins of landing we were through passport control with baggage and being greeted by our friends from Bavaria <br> on our return we got the Train to Munich Marionplatz and watched the Glochenspeil, had lunch at the Lowenbrauhaus and caught the S Bahn to the Airport... Limited Facilities, Nice Enough Airport

Advantages: good location for northern Poland, quiet, small,
Disadvantages: very limited shopping and catering

...Gdansk Airport (officially named Lech Walesa Airport) is located in the village/suburb of Rebiechowo within about a half hour's minutes drive from most areas of Tri-City (many outlying suburbs will be closer, though). Public transport links are good to Gdansk itself, but much worse to Gdynia or Sopot. Licences taxis are widely available and would normally cost something in the region of 60PLN plus, but this vastly varies depending on where you actually going. Alicante Airport

Advantages: Good location, decent amenities

...I use Alicante airport for my annual break in Spain and find it is convenient and fairly easy to use. It is situated just outside Alicante on the Costa Blanca, around 46.5km from Benidorm. It is within driving distance of Valencia, around two hours and 179km. Arrivals You would probably fly to Alicante if you were staying in Benidorm, Torrevieja, Altea, Calpe, Moraira or Teulada. It is popular with budget airlines such as Easyjet and Bmibaby and there are flights from many regional airports in the UK such as East Midlands, Liverpool, Bristol, Newcastle and Stansted to name a few. There are around ten car hire companies who operate out of the airport including the big names like Avis, Europcar and Hertz, these desks are located in the arrivals hall and can get busy at peak times. ...Chicago airport. On a recent visit to san Diego, we had to have a stop in Chicago airport for a couple of hours...most of my travelling seems to be spent in airports! It was the busiest airport in the United States until Atlanta became the busiest and it was apparently voted best airport in North America in 2000...that's 8 years ago so i don't know which airport has been winning since then. The airport is 20 miles from downtown Chicago but since we weren't actaully going to Chicago we didn't actally leave the airport so I can't comment on the transport links. **The Terminals** Of course when stuck in an airport these are the places you see most often. The Munich massacre - its aftermath, as noted by Spielberg

Advantages: Incredibly powerful drama in places
Disadvantages: Takes too long to get anywhere

...Munich is a poignant and dramatic, slow-moving Spielberg film that has at its core the effects and fallout from the 1972 Munich Olympic Games massacre. Members of the Israeli Olympic team were taken hostage and eventually killed by a group known as Black September, reported to have ties to a militant group linked to the Fatah organisation. The film opens with some graphic scenes showing the massacre within the first five or ten minutes, before Spielberg introduces us to the squad of assassins who then plan to hunt down 11 Black September members and kill them as revenge. It is a very suspenseful and dramatic film, with patience needed throughout. Do not expect a fast paced tense thriller, because that's not what this is about. It's a serious drama, with the suspense the main focal point, and the emotions that the squad must go...

...Early in the morning of the 5th September 1972, Palestinian terrorists broke into the athlete's village at the Munich Olympics. The terrorist group known as Black September stormed the Israeli apartments, took 9 hostages, and shot two men dead. Whilst the games went on around them, the terrorists demanded the release of hundreds of prisoners from Israeli jails as well as the release of two Germans being held in Germany. On The Doorstep Of Heathrow Airport

Advantages: nice rooms, convenient location, lovely pool bar
Disadvantages: Parking and food were a little on the expensive side

...I stayed at the Sheraton Skyline hotel near Heathrow airport in September 2007 before I flew out on my annual holiday. I booked this hotel because according to their website, it is literally on the doorstep of Heathrow Airport. Room Our room was located on the 10th floor but sadly the room overlooked the hotel car park but to be honest this wasn?t a problem because we weren't staying here for the view! Our room was very large, much bigger than I expected for the price I paid. The bed was extremely large, probably about 6 feet wide and very comfortable. It certainly left us both feeling like we had a decent nights sleep. The room also had two wardrobes, an office desk and chair and a lamp on either bed side table. There was also a fully stocked mini bar but to be honest the prices were so extortionate that we didn?t even bother...

Review of Sheraton Skyline Hotel - London Heathrow Airport

Probably the best and also worst hostel in Munich

Advantages: No kerfew, breakfasts, cheap bar, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Its not very clean

...a general idea. When you get to the front of the que a feast greats you, aswell as the general cereal and toast options there are also a variety of cold meats, cheeses, and breads, aswell as eggs, and pate. Accompanying this is good coffee or tea and two types of juice. After a night of German excess this is the perfect antidote. The resturant doubles as a bar in the evening with a small beer garden. The bar staff are friendly and obviously speak very good English, and they offer their own draught beer aswell as Dunkels from a bottle. It is alot cheaper than you will find anywhere else in Munich, especially if you can hold on to the rather flimsy wristband that is handed to you when you check in. This will allow you happy hour drinking and means you can get a full stein for about 4.50 euros, compared to the average of 7 euros in the rest...

Munich Walk Tour

Advantages: one of the must-see cities in Germany

...Last summer I was in Munich to see an art exhibition. I didn´t have any plans for the afternoon and when I saw a leaflet ´Munich Walk Tours in English´, (from May 17th to August 31st daily 10:45 am and 3:00 pm, from Sept. 1st to Oct. 31st daily 10:45, meeting point in front of the town hall entrance under the Glockenspiel on Marienplatz, 9 Euro, under 26 years 8 Euro, children under 14 with an adult free), I thought, why not? Why not find out what foreigners tell foreigners about Munich? Still on the Marienplatz the guide, a young woman from Australia started with a survey over the history of Munich from the year it was officially founded up to today and covered 800 years in about 10 minutes. Our tour wasn´t specified as a historical tour, it was just a general introduction, but we heard more about the reign of the Royal Family...
