Its a long way....To Murcia Airport!

Advantages: Quiet, friendly and handy for many resorts
Disadvantages: Lack of transport, distance from Murcia.

...After flying back from Murcia just 24 hours ago, I feel I should share my experiences of San Javier Airport with you. LOCATION Set in Eastern Spain, San Javier is located about 45Km southeast of Murcia but is also known as Murcia Airport. So when you are flying to this airport expecting to be close to the city, think again. We were unaware of this fact even after picking the car up. We only found this out on our return to Murcia and wondered why we could not find the Airport. After asking for directions in central Murcia (as the airport is not signposted ANYWHERE) it was more luck than judgement we found our way back! The airport is constructed right on the coast and on final approach you are nearly kissing the med with your undercarriage. For those nervous fliers, close the window blinds for landing! Ryanair - I hate that i love them

Advantages: Cheap, on time
Disadvantages: basic, food prices, landings

...I recently got back from a trip to Murcia, i only booked it because i saw on Ryanair's website that they were doing seats for 1p (20quid tax) and i thought i'd give it a go. I was initially apprehensive coz of the bad press and so forth but I'm a brave lad and thought i could handle what ever they threw at me. The flight was from Stansted, nice airport, nice larrge duty free area! Checking in there ws no problems, i was under the the 15kg mark and was handed my boarding ticket, so far so good, I was at the gate at the right time and thankfully saw the plane, when it came to boarding it was a bit of a frenzy with everyone trying to board at the same time, but the boarding passes had numbers on them so the mass of people was split into 2 groups. I didn't really like having to walk to the plane, in the cold but it wasn't some silly...

Stereotypical Budget Airline

Advantages: Local departures, cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: Expensive for food and drink onboard

...I have used Jet2 on a number of occasions now. I have flown from Manchester to Murcia, Alicante and Prague with them. I have always found the prices to be amongst the best around, especially if you are flexible with your dates. I have always booked my car hire through Jet2 and to date I have never managed to get it cheaper elseware. Jet2 have their own check-in area at Manchester so I have never had to wait longer than 15 minutes to check- in even at peak times. They also seem to be able to get there planes off the ground on time aswell, I have never suffered any major delays with them, amybe 10 or 20 minutes at the most. The online booking facility is excellent, You recieve your confirmation email straight away, this can be easily printed and acts as your travel documents. There are a couple of minor bad points. The White Coast

Advantages: nice coast with lovely countryside
Disadvantages: Urbanizaciones taking over, month of August to avoid

...in the region to visit are Murcia with its cathedral, Elche with its impressive palm gardens, Cartagena and the Mar Menor (an inland sea), Alicante with its fortress high above the city and Alcoy and Jijona (almond capital) in the mountains. Farther north there is incredible Benidorm, little Manhattan with highrisers, where I wouldn´t want to stay for free. The newest attraction there is "Terra Mitica", a historic Disney-like funpark, where you can ride roller coasters, sail into the harbour of ancient Alexandria, watch a ship battle with pirates and get wet at gigantic slides.....lots prettier are the smaller towns of Calpe, Moraira, Javea and Denia, but even there massive construction work due to affordable property prices is taking over. ...of the league after 23 games has stretched to an 8 point gap ahead of Barca, and this has really began to get well documented after they drew 1-1 with Seville and Real went on to get a huge 7-0 win over Valladolid. Villarreal and Atletico Madrid, both third and fourth respectively, are also enjoying a good run at the moment both winning this weekend. At the bottom of the 20-team league, Levante are looking disasterous on 13pts, whilst their nearest rivals Murcia sit on 23pts, although the closeness of the league means 19th is only two wins away from tenth placed Real Zaragoza on 29pts.
