It?s a heavy but strangely commercial song that you?d probably sing along to on the radio. It?s one of the best tracks on the album. ?Sing For Absolution? is a slow moving and haunting track with vocals that echo throughout. It builds up to some guitar twiddling in the chorus before growing into some typical Muse opera tics. It?s a hark back the previous album. ?Stockholm Syndrome? was the first single from the album and starts with a blistering guitar...

Singles

Advantages: perfect little gem of a film

...?I?d try to comprehend you but I got a dyslexic heart?? Singles, Cameron Crowe?s 1992 tale of the twentysomething search for love in Seattle, is one of my all-time favourite films. This sweet, episodic mix of neatly interlinking storylines is very human, very funny and has probably the best soundtrack of any film in that decade (yes, that includes Pulp Fiction). ?How did this stuff get so complicated? I don?t know.? The storyline strands are relatively few, and this is why the film continues to be coherent and believable. Poor Linda has been dumped on more times than she cares to remember, so is in no mood to meet Steve, who might just be the love of her life. Steve?s ex Janet is, meanwhile, in love with her neighbour in the block of ?singles? in which they live, but Cliff is just too wrapped up in his music to give a damn...

Advantages: Brilliant, The Exo-Genesis Tracks, DVD - Making of The Resistance, Orgasmic, Mysterious
Disadvantages: Few Tracks are not upto standard to what i thought

Exo-Genesis Symphony Part 1 (Overture), Part 2 (Cross-Pollination), Part 3 (Redemption) These three masterpieces is my favourite out of all these tracks. I always listen to these three tracks together and I have managed to merge them into one single file. These remind me of a piano concerto?s pieces, really relaxing, almost like a lullaby. The second bit of Exo-Genesis is my favourite where there is the octave movement within the piano part. I could listen to this movement over and over again. The lyrics of these symphonies are also quite powerful and moving. Extra: DVD I have watched bits of the DVD and I really enjoyed watching them. MUSE HYSTERIA

Advantages: Big move up in quality from the second album
Disadvantages: unecessary 'intro' and 'interlude' tracks

...This is the third album from brit-rockers Muse.Always a formidable live band, the first album was patchy whilst 'Origin of symmetry' tailed off poorly at the end. This marks their first fully realised album. Matt Bellamy's reigned in the vocal acrobatics a bit and the songs, whilst musically complex at times, have some fine pop choruses. The openning 'intro' is just the sound of the band stampign their feet which isn't really necessary, and the same can be said about the later 'interlude'. 'Apocalypse Please' follows and is a monstorous slice of music, with pounding drums and futuristic sound effects. 'Time is running out' is similarly bombastic, with a chorus built for singing along and some very cool sounding finger clicking. 'Sing for absolution' is the first ballad and has some particuarly nice guitar touches. It's tender yet...

Muse - Origin Of Symmetry

...After recently watching one of the best live performances I've ever seen at Reading Festival this bank holiday weekend, I felt it completely necessary to review what is, in my opinion, Muse's best album to date; Origin Of Symmetry. After the general success of their debut Showbiz, this second album raised them into the high-society of headlining rock music acts. After this weekend's show, it's easy to see why Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard are thought of so highly. Opener New Born, is simply breath-taking. The piano introduction builds the song up perfectly, with Bellamy's eerie vocals - Thom Yorke-esque at times - acting as a perfect compliment. Then it all happens. Keeping Their Muse

Advantages: Cryptic lyrics, good guitars, good singing
Disadvantages: No killer track as such, tracks a bit too similar

...a slightly mournful sound, although this is partly reverted by the aggressive chorus, which name checks the album. It ends on one of Bellamy's more thoughtful lyrics "I just wanted to hold". Starlight shows Muse at their most challenging and creative best, and is certainly a keystone song in the album. The third track is one that has been released as a single, so it is well known. Supermassive Black Hole combines both the anger and resentment of Take a Bow and the elegant sound of Starlight. It is built on a powerful guitar riff that forms the base of the lyrics. Due to this, Supermassive Black Hole could have been on Absolution. Bellmay displays his range of singing; he sings very high pitched on this track, whereas on other tracks he is lower and sometimes more harmonious. Absolutely Muse's best album

Advantages: Grand, sublime, epic, varied...
Disadvantages: The tracklisting: Hysteria and Interlude are mixed up.

...As a big Muse fan; I loved this album. When it was released it was the biggest sound the band had ever made. Starting off with Apocalypse Please it is the sound of a band hungry to fill the big venues, earth shattering piano chords grounding spiralling synths. Everything about this album is grand and epic. You've probably already heard the singles; Time is Running Out, Hysteria, Stockholm Syndrome, Sing for Absolution and Butterflies and Hurricanes but there is so much more in this album to listen to. Falling Away From You is Muse on a more affectionate level, Blackout is Muse at their most sublime and then there is The Small Print a heavy three chord rock out. Arguably their latest album Black Holes and Revelations may top the scale of Absolution but I think personally that Absolution is more of a satisfying listen on the whole...

She gives him inspiration but he has to provide for her expensive and strange tastes and requirements. As the film develops people whom she used to help come and ask for help from her. Broks isn't very happy about this as he believes this will weaken her musing ablities. The film is a ll about her effect on this family. It is a funny, comic filmfor a little light relief....
