Advantages: Brilliant, The Exo-Genesis Tracks, DVD - Making of The Resistance, Orgasmic, Mysterious
Disadvantages: Few Tracks are not upto standard to what i thought

...I was wondering when the new album is going to come out. This album did not disappoint me at all. The title might have been fortunate to be called ?The Resistance? since I really could not resist buying this straight away. The first thing that I liked about is the cover art; a man in front of a multi-coloured circular ball/globe(?). It definitely does bring out the whole album. Also, if you look at it long enough, you will see that the image is going in towards the Earth but as a whole, it just looks like a globe. 01. Uprising This track is one of my favourite in the album. It is quite alienating at some point and very upbeat. This track, I think sets the new album as a totally new different style to Muse?s other album. 02. Muse's Best Album - The Resistance

Advantages: 11 songs brilliantly complemented by Bellamy's best arrangements
Disadvantages: Maybe could do with 1 more rock song.

...It' s not often a moment of brilliance comes across you and smacks you in the face, leaving you utterly gobsmacked. Here is one such time. As a fan of Muse, I was expecting this to be good, but there is a difference between this and the average Muse record. This is everything good about them, rolled into one. This is their first album where there is no sag, no fillers, just moment after moment of wonder. For instance, the kasabian/katy perry/blondie moments of Uprising, blend into something unstoppable, a live favourite already. Resistance is one of Muse's most touching songs, and is one of the only times Matt Bellamy dares to sing a love song, albeit based on the brilliant 1984. Eurasia. Queen MK2 have entered the building. Advantages: New and ground-breaking music from the ever diverse British band Muse.
Disadvantages: Some are put off by the band's fluidity in trying new things. This album is a new thing.

Advantages: brilliant, diverse, and original and i got a DVD!
Disadvantages: at times a bit too queen like.

...I've been a fan of muse ever since Showbiz, and i have enjoyed watching the band evolve, always redifining themselves and changing their sound. Each album has been significantly different but adored by all their fans. The question is: can their latest album beat Black holes and revelations, or an even harder feat, Absolution? The simple answer is yes... and no. So perhaps it is not that simple. Let us delve into what will become the ramble of a track by track overview. Uprising It is a good opener, with a resonably generic rhythm. It instantly shows existing fans that they have found a new sound. Advantages: Adds greater depth to the listening experience.
Disadvantages: Costs slightly more than the version without the DVD.

...Firstly, what makes this different from buying just the CD is the inclusion of "The making of The Resistance" DVD. This DVD, by first appearances is a combination of poor camera work, awkward camera angles and fairly poor quality, but realising it's home-made nature is part of it's innate charm. The menu screen is designed to be in the style of a retro computer, mimicked in the credits with the scrolling text. From the start, Muse provide a comic view of their experiences in the studio recording of their latest album, The Resistance. The DVD is laid out according to the album track listing, splicing shots of the individual members playing their parts with discussion regarding content and style, as well as debating the effects and cutting of the track. Muse have done it again!

Advantages: Much different to Black Holes and Revelations, MK ULTRA and Resistance are personal favourites.
Disadvantages: A few weak links on the album

...Muse have very quickly put themselves in the music hall of fame! From there debut album back in 1999 Showbiz, now 10 years later have continued their path of producing fantastic, adventurous music. This trio certainly have proved themselves with The Resistance. Taking Black Holes and Revelations one step further by adding aspects of albums like Origin of Symmetry, where Matt Belamy is acting as the main instrument of the band with electro beats, that would certainly get your blood pumping and high notes which have been rarely seen in a British male rock group. My favourite songs of the album are MK Ultra, Resistance and Undisclosed Desires, however i believe the album is slightly let down by United States of Eurasia, which is recognised for it's Queen like attributes, and Unnatural Selection which both seem to lack the beat and "umph...

Musetastic-Another unique album from one of the best bands around

Advantages: innovative, energetic, some excellent songs
Disadvantages: Some slip ups, couple of weak songs

...with muse. There are some rather cheesy elements to the song, managing to sound rather sci-fi, but it is still a great tune and a good solid start to the album with many interesting sections. As Many people have commented there are elements of Goldfrapp in this song, but it has the unique muse touch. Resistance: This is one of my least favourite songs on the album, it is a little dull in my opinion, and the vocals a little flat. The drumming is excellent, but I do not feel that it has the epic quality which it clearly sets out to achieve. It is another song about fighting, but one that I have given several listens but still do not particularly appreciate. Unnatural selection: My favourite song on the album, pure muse, amazingly energetic, driving, unique. Starts slowly with organs, and builds to a crescendo in this is seven minute epic...

Another Fantastic album from the devon trio!

Advantages: Not to varied as they have done before and great variety!
Disadvantages: the non classical listeners may not appreciate some of the tracks?

...After a staggering amount of success with their fourth studio album 'black holes and revolutions' world dominating rockers 'MUSE' took time out away from their usual scene in Italy to record and produce their brand new 5th studio album titled 'The Resistance'. The album was recorded in 'Studio Belini' in Italy so the band could write with a fresh head and new surroundings, the album was released for purchase on the 14th september 2009. ...When Muse came onto the scene with their debut album they were dismissed by some as a Radiohead clone. Yes there was a vocalist with a big vocal range, the songs were a bit off kilter and not in the norm, and there were some weird sounds. So what? With their second album Origin of Symmetry Muse proved that they rock harder than Radiohead. Now we have Absolution, the third studio album and after a 9/10 score from the NME it?s safe to say that Muse are on the up once again.
