Night at the Museum
Advantages: Great comedy and pure entertainment
Disadvantages: a little slow to begin.. but not for long though.
...future step father Don, (played by Paul Rudd), a high flying bond dealer on Wall Street.
He is warned by the soon to be ex-night watchmen, Cecil, (played by Dick Van Dyke), Gus, (Played by Mickey Rooney) and Reginald, (played by Bill Cobbs), to leave some of the lights on in the museum during the night weird things happen during the night.
His first night turns into a rather strange adventure indeed as the night falls and the Museum takes on a life of its own??
Barely making it through the first night, Larry decides to continue to work at the Museum so his son doesn't see him as a failure?again?.and each night brings more and more chaos and danger, involving everything from being chased around the building by a full size skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex to refereeing between a battling cowboy named Jedediah Smith, (played by Owen...

The Booth Museum, Brighton
Advantages: Free admission, lots to see
Disadvantages: None for me
...The Booth Museum is located on Brighton's suburban back streets well away from the town centre but having said that it is on Dyke Road (the A2010) which is one of the major routes through the town and so it is relatively easy to find.
The museum is named after the Victorian natural historian Edward Thomas Booth who spent much of his life in Brighton. Primarily it houses his personal collection of stuffed birds but there are also animals, insects, fossils and skeletons. These collections were amassed during his lifetime and contain over half a million different specimens. He lived between 1840 and 1890.
Like most Victorian naturalists of the time he was an avid collector. It seems odd nowadays to think that someone that was considered to be such a lover of these creatures should hunt them down and shoot them. However we need to...

Street Lurvin'
Advantages: Lots of big tunes
Disadvantages: A couple of tunes lack energy
...The Atlanta R&B singer Lloyd (Polite) released his second album in 2007. The record, ?Street Love? featured some of his most well-known tracks, and although he broke through with his debut, this is the album which had him really come up with some of his highest-quality work.
1. ?Lloyd? (Intro)
2. ?You?
Samplign Spandau Ballet?s ?True?, this one finds the artist doing a banger of a collaboration with Lil? Wayne, in the time when Weezy started off his streak of featured tracks designed as a build-up to his ?Tha Carter III? album. It gets this thing underway well and shows off his incredible vocals form the get-go.
**Five Stars**
3. ?Certified?
It is Jazzy Pha who is seen to behind this one, and it appears that he really knows what to do (based upon his Crunk & B work with other Atlanta R&B singers, and so in order to bring in that...

The Old Curiosity (Shop) Museum
Advantages: Fascinating collection, creatively displayed
Disadvantages: Challenges your ideas of how a museum should display things
...The Pitt Rivers Museum is a treasure chest of the weird and wonderful and should be a compulsory must-see place for every tourist visiting Oxford but sadly, it rarely is. Consequently those of us who know and love this quirky little museum are sometimes torn between the desire to sell its joys to the world and to keep it as our own special little secret. But on this occasion I'll take the risk of the place filling up and tell you about it.
The Pitt Rivers is a place you need to know exists in order to find it. It's not widely publicised and you won't see it from the street because it's tucked away at the back of its sister museum, the much grander and more blousy Oxford University Museum of Natural History. Take a look at the photo Ciao have used. That's the OUMNH and it's gorgeous. The Pitt Rivers is like an untidy cupboard hiding...

The Grosvenor Museum, Chester
Advantages: Free admission, plenty to see and do
Disadvantages: Not fully accessible to disabled visitors
..., for Chester, Cheshire and North Wales. Hardly surprising therefore that it is colloquially known simply as the Grosvenor Museum.
Its name is taken from the street on which it stands: Grosvenor Street, which is turn, comes from the family name of the Dukes of Westminster who were the largest landowners in the city. The first Duke of Westminster officially opened the museum on the 9th August 1886.
The exterior of the building is rather impressive, with a red brick façade that makes it stand out from the other buildings around it. The entrance on the main street is less conspicuous with a short flight of steps leading up to entrance, which is elevated above the street level. In 1999 the museum received a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund that enabled it to be modified to make it more accessible for disabled visitors. It should however be...

Ponterfact Museum, West Yorkshire
Advantages: Free entry, plenty to see and do
Disadvantages: Not everyones idea of a fun day out
...Pontefract's museum is located within an impressive art nouveau building that dates from 1904. This building was originally the Carnegie Free Library and even today it still has the feel of a library about it, although in other places it also reminded me of an old school building. It is located right in the heart of the town centre, adjacent to the parish church and close to the market and is therefore very easy to find.
I usually try and make a point of visiting museums when I am in area as they are an excellent way of finding out about an area and they are usually free to visit. Pontefract's museum is no exception to this rule as it is both free and a great place to discover all about the towns rich history.
The building that houses the museum is set out on two different floors but most of the exhibits are on the lower floor. As...

The London Science Museum
Advantages: Its free entry and your chilren learn as they play
Disadvantages: A nightmare to get to, very busy at peak times
...from £1 upwards; this entertaining shop is similar to the Gadget Shop in the high street. Worth a visit before you leave.
~~ TO CONCLUDE ~~
Though a nightmare to get to, this is a very enjoyable and fascinating day out, where children learn as they play. Worth making the effort but young children do get irritable at some exhibits.
If you leave during the rush hour at 6 pm, I suggest walking around the corner to have a meal until the chaos calms down. Not far from the museum (about 20 minutes walk away) is Harrods . Along this main road is Yo Sushi, Macdonalds, Bella Pasta and various other dining houses.

Switzerland's Only Museum for Potheads
Advantages: If you like pots, it's the best place in Switzerland
Disadvantages: If you don't like pots and glass, this probably isn't for you
...Serendipity - it's a great word, isn't it? One online dictionary defines it as "The faculty of making fortunate discoveries by accident" and I'm a fan of such accidental discoveries. Our most recent was the Musee Ariana in Geneva. What's the chance that my husband and I, wandering around looking for the Red Cross museum and the United Nations building, will stumble across museum dedicated to two arts that we're passionate about? We love glass and we particularly love ceramics and as we walked from the bus stop to the Red Cross museum we just happened to see the signs for the Musee Ariana. As luck would have it this is the only museum in the whole of Switzerland that's devoted to ceramics and glass. And it's FREE! Truly the gods were smiling down on us that Sunday afternoon.
For our friends who were with us, it was a bit less...

The Names Bond Museum Keswick
Advantages: Interesting if you like James Bond
Disadvantages: If you don't like Bond its not for you
...I visited the museum in June this year whilst having a short break in the Lakes with my other half.
Unfortunately it rained most of the time (but hey I expect that now when I visit the Lakes!) so on one rainy day we drove up from Windermere to visit the Bond Museum in Keswick.
I must admit we did this originally because we thought it would pass a few hours and most importantly keep us dry!
I thought it would be a bit boring to be honest, but couldn?t come up with another plan so my other half won.
I can however report that I was pleasantly surprised and, shock horror, actually enjoyed the experience!
A Bit of Museum Background
The James Bond Museum is a relatively new attraction in Keswick, opening in April 2009.
The collection at the museum has been put together by James Bond fanatic, Peter Nelson...
