Naryn
Advantages: great knowledge and impression
Disadvantages: too many people in there
...Unbelievable,I could spend a day in the museum. I never feel like spending much time in museums......but here in Vatican Museums. It is very beautiful and wonderful place i had ever visited....I spent a day in there but i would suggest you to go there in the morning because it is very long line to get inside because every people visited Vatican city usually visit Vatican Museums as well, hundreds of poeple!!!! Anyway, after a long waiting,it is worth to spend such a time.
Vatican Museums include EGYPTIAN MUSEUM, CHIARAMONTI MUSEUM, MUSEUM OF POPES CLEMENT XIV AND PIUS VI, and many many galleries will impress you.

the marvellous museum
Review of Medelhavsmuseet by
Freemann
Advantages: a travel along ancient times.
Disadvantages: No disadvantages are there, at least for the moment
...It's a moral investement to visit the place. It is unfair to come to Stockholm without visiting one of its 70 museums, at least. Today, I went to Medelhavsmuseet, the Mediterranean Museum. It is a treasure-like museum which consist of many ancient historical items.

impressive collection
Review of Shanghai Museum (Shanghai) by
travelbug
Advantages: Very well presented and maintained.
Disadvantages:
...The Shanghai Museum is the only museum worth going to in Shanghai. It houses an impressive collection of stone artifacts, jugs, ancient keys dating to 2000 BC and an amazing collection of coins and costumes from China's 120+ ethnic groups. The museum has tried to show the diversity within China and all its composite parts which is truly rare. China normally concentrates on its conformity and its homogenous traits. This museum truly explores all of the richness of China's history through its art.
An even more interesting story about the Shanghai Museum is that during the time of the Cultural Revolution, when all art and academic works were being destroyed by the Communist regime, Shanghai's inhabitants donated their furniture, books and paintings to the museum in an effort to preserve them and the history they contained...

Lord's Cricket Museum - Another World!
Review of Lords Cricket Ground Museum (London) by
TheHairyGodmother
Advantages: Packed with Cricket Memorabilia, Cheap entrance fee
Disadvantages: none
...The Lord's museum is probably one of the best known cricket museums in the world. Located at Lord's Cricket Ground in London, The museum is based at the home of cricket, and home of the MCC. Perhaps the most well known thing about the MCC Museum is that it is the home of the ashes.
The ashes is probably the main reason why people go to visit the MCC museum and this of course was much more popular in the aftermath of England winning the ashes in 2005.
I think the best thing about the museum is that it is absolutely packed to the rafters with books, trophy's, shirts, photos and much more, including a new film library.
My favourite exhibit is that of a sparrow which was hit by a cricket ball in 1936. After the match the sparrow was stuffed and has remained in the museum ever since. It is one of the first things that you see when you...

Very detailed!!!!
Review of Museum of London (London) by
SouthStar
Advantages: Alot of information and archilogical fiddings displayed.
Disadvantages: Not much more than that.
...The Museum of London explains how London was first built and the events that happened during the centurys. I would go here if you are a tourist interested in fiding the history of London. It goes from the Romans to the Saxons,Vikings,Fire of London to the English Kings and Queens. This is definetly a A* museum. Although they could improve the museum by adding more events in which the customers could really understand the events in which they were learning about. Overall I recommend it to students who did to know detailed knowledge of London....

Dover Museum
Review of Dover Museum by

Disadvantages: None
...Location
Dover Museum is centrally located in the market square area of Dover town and is within walking distance to the train and bus stations.

Admission is free to local residents, although you do need to prove that you live in Dover by showing a document such as a bank statement or utility bill. Adults who do not reside in Dover will be charged two pound fifty and children are OAPs are charged one pound fifty.
The Museum
Dover Museum was first opened in 1836. The museum is spread across three floors. Just inside the entrance, is the history exhibit which traces the history of Dover from the Stone Age to the time of the Saxons.

Aberdeen Maritime Museum
Review of Aberdeen Maritime Museum, Aberdeen by
allyro
Advantages: Excellent museum, my kids love to go every time we visit Aberdeen
Disadvantages: Perhaps not easy to find as it is off the main streets.
...Aberdeen Maritime Museum is located in Ship Row, close to the harbour in a historic area of the city. The importance of the fishing industry in this part of the country is explored along with the oil industry and local shipbuilding. There are loads of interactive exhibits which kids will enjoy and the large oil platform model which stretches over three levels is amazing to see. There are fantastic views out over the harbour area from the top floor of the museum too. The older part of the building - Provost Ross's house is very interesting with it's low ceilings and winding staircases. It houses lots of memorabilia from things like the ferry services and lifeboats.
The museum has a small gift shop selling all kinds of sea related gifts, books and toys.
The Leading Lights cafe in the basement area serves lovely coffee and cakes...

Cars and cars and cars and cars...
Review of Transport Museum by
Amanda_Fowler1
Advantages: see op
Disadvantages: none really
...I was visiting Scotland with my boyfriend as I used to live there. I had a thing for the museums; I used to visit them regularly! One of my favourite was the Transport Museum. I thought I'd take him there, as we had nothing to do, and I thought it might interest him.
"Not a museum!!!!" was the response, what’s so bad about them I ask?? No answer?! I dragged him along and he was amazed. Its great to keep them quiet for an hour or two!
He saw the old cars, the new cars, what happens when a 'cut and shut' car crashes head on, racing cars, future cars, everything!! There are also bikes, horse drawn carts, trains, and my dads favourite, boats and ships. Many a good hour has been spent around this museum!...

Museum am Checkpoint Charlie
Review of Museum am Checkpoint Charlie by
chcouper
Advantages: Very informative
Disadvantages: A bit confusing and no air conditioning!
...The Checkpoint Charlie Museum is one of Berlin's main tourist attractions. It commemorates the Cold War period in Germany when Berlin was divided in two by the Berlin Wall, with East Germany being controlled by the Communist Russian regime while West Berlin was controlled by the combined control of the French, British and Americans.
Entry to the museum costs €12.50 for an adult and you can also buy an audio guide for an additional €3. Discounts are available for groups of 20 or more. The museum is open from 9am to 10pm daily as is the small coffee shop situated at the museum. The museum also houses a public reference library which focuses on post-war history and the Cold War. The museum is located in the centre of Berlin so transport links are good. It probably wouldn't be ideal for disabled visitors as there are a lot of stairs...

A great day out.
Review of Museum of Science & Industry in Manchester by
jimgib
Advantages: Pleanty to do and inexpensive
Disadvantages: None
...This is how a museum should be. It is designed primarily for child and people who cannot resist having a touch.
Its is fantastic, exhibits include working steam engines, trains and plenty of hands on exhibits.
One of my favourites is the air and transport museum attached to the science and industry museum (included in the price)
My children particularly enjoyed the Xperiment section. This is truly a hands on section of the exhibition, the kids loved it.
Entry fee is great, only £5.00 for adults and the kids go free. Plenty of car parking space but this will cost you and extra £1.50
To find the museum travel down Deansgate in the city centre and follow the signs for Castlefield.
A good and inexpensive day out to keep the kids amused during the holidays...
