Cuba... Caribbean with a Difference.
Advantages: Tropical Paradise, Havana, All inclusive hotels.
Disadvantages: Scary Customs.
...Introduction
=
A few years ago my wife and I were walking from Rotterdam to Vienna. Unfortunately by the time we got to Cologne we received a call telling us we had been burgled back in the UK. Having to cut the trip short and being unwilling to resume the walk we decided to take a couple of weeks in the sun. Looking around for last minute deals we managed to find 10 days All Inclusive in Cuba for £449 a price I doubt you can get unless you are going very last minute (we left two days later).
Visas and Vaccinations
=
There were no visas necessary for entry and because US customs take a dim view of people who go to Cuba they stamp an insert for your passport that can be discarded (or kept) afterwards. If you are taking this as part of a larger tour then you cannot fly to Cuba from the USA, but will need...

BOSE: Music for the soul
Advantages: Great sound quality, perfet at loud volumes, just in general FANTASTIC
Disadvantages: none so far
...Anything made by BOSE can be trusted. Its sound quality is always at its best, no matter what soundsystem you use from bose, and it's true... you get what you pay for.
Jus plug it in and press "ON" and you're set up! IT'S THAT EASY!
bose is a big brang name, and everyone expects the best from, and how right they are.
The sounddocks simplistic design brings out the best of your mp3 player, making it the whole music experience that much better.
For (at most) £300, you are getting exactly what you pay for AND more! The bose soundock has an inate wonder within itself, which brings you to appreciate the minor details embedded into whatever track you are listening to.
Its reasonably light weight, comes with an easy to use remote and from there onwards, it really is just you and your music
i can easily say that the best thing about...

Bose SoundDock Digital Music System Review
Advantages: Superb Sound, Very Loud, Ideal for Ipods
Disadvantages: not go to travel with, Extremely Expensive
...Bose SoundDock Digital Music System
I happened to get this as a gift and it turned out to be quiet interesting
Summary:
This dock is used mainly for ipod and allows you to connet mp3 players to it and listen to high quality music via speakers. It is idle for homes and small gatherings, although I would not run a party off these.
Pros:
This system has terrific sound and can go very load despite its relative small size. As with almost all Bose speakers the quality is amazing, so long as the source you are playing it from is high quality it will allow the speakers to each its potential.
I have a surround sound Bose set up in one of my rooms but now prefer to use this product as it is very simple to operate. Just plug the mp3 player in and press play and your set. Can't get much simpler. It also runs off a wall...

Wii music
Advantages: Learn about instruments
Disadvantages: Not interesting enough for me
...I love my Nintendo Wii and love playing new and different games on it. I recently played the Wii Music but unfortunately this was one game that I really did not like.
Wii music was released in 2008 and allows players to simulate playing with real musical instruments. You use either the Wii remote or the nunchuk to play the instruments. THe disappointment for me was that the instruments were just not realistic enough. For example, I love Wii Sports because I think the tennis, bowling and actually all the games are really realistic and it feels like you are actually there playing the game. With the Wii Instruments it did not feel like you had a real instrument in your hands and also the Mii characters on the screen just did not react well to the movements. It was more of a chore trying to play the instruments and I gave up pretty soon...

Form an orderly Cu-ba!
Advantages: Varied destinations, great people
Disadvantages: Can be hard work at times
...another plate of rice and peas!
Drinking revolves around rum. Well what else? Its ridiculously cheap and Cubans even take their own bottle on a night out rather than buy from the bar. No-one seems to mind. Cocktails are few except for ones using rum - Cuba Libre, Daiquiri and Mojitos (a refreshing mix of rum, crushed mint leaves, lime juice and soda water - great on a hot afternoon).
The national beer is Cristal - a light, crips and refreshing brew. Others include Mayabe and Bucanero, both good beers but my favourite is Cristal.
MUSIC
Cubans simply wouldn't know what to do without music. Each bar has its own band, some admittedly are pretty poor but they do add to the atmosphere. Everywhere you go there'll be people playing in the streets, in bars, music blaring from vehicles, from houses (everyone owns a big CD player) - salsa...

My fancy frolics in Cuba
Advantages: Scenic, different, not too spoilt
Disadvantages: Flight
...the Iberostar Daiquiri, other hotels on the Island included the 5* Melia and the 3* Sol Club
We visited the north side of Cuba, a couple of Islands that make up the Cayo’s. There is Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo.
Cayo Guillermo is where we decided to go as it’s less developed and joined to Cuba by a 68km causeway. The Cayo’s are in no way the real Cuba, if you go here you must take trips out of the Cayo’s. The Cayo’s are shut off from all locals and the only Cubans allowed in have to stop at a checkpoint and they make sure they are employees of the four hotels that are situated on Cayo Guillermo. Apart from the four hotels on the Island there is not much more.
We decided on Cuba, as it’s one of the less developed, less commercial Islands in the Caribbean. We looked on the internet for information...

Nokia 5800 Express Music
Advantages: User friendly, excellent quality MP3 player
Disadvantages: camera is not brilliant, particularly video.
...Nokia 5800 Express Music
* The phone is a good size and shape to comfortably fit into your jeans pocket. The screen is bright and clear, rather like an I-phone screen in the way it looks and the way it works.
* The music quality as you would expect is exceptional, the sofware that comes with the phone for putting music onto the phone is quick and easy to useand the music player itself is as easy to use as any MP3 player. The external speakers are excellent, however the maximum volume when listening on headphones is rather quiet. (Don't get me wrong, it's more than adequate but if you want to blast your music loud, or completely drown out the annoying tunes being played over the loudspeakers in your local gym they leave a little to be desired.
* The maps and GPS feature is excellent, however if you to choose to use it as...

A Wii bit musically challenged
Advantages: See Pros in review
Disadvantages: See Cons in review
... Wii MUSIC
I think that Wii Music is a tricky game to review.
When I purchased it for my son at Christmas, I visualised a Christmas with all the family joining in and enjoying the game, somehow that didn't really materialise.
I can't really decide exactly what Wii Music is - is it a game, or is it a music sim?
For anyone who is looking for a game like Guitar Hero they will be disappointed. I think many people thought that this game would teach them how to play an instrument but that is not what it is about, Wii Music is actually about the joy of making music. The emphasis seems to lie in having a good time, at the expense of everything else. Whatever you do, you're never told that you did something wrong or given any negative comments at all.
What the game actually does is to the Nintendo Wii's motion...

Wii Music Falls Flat
Advantages: Good Amount Of Instruments To Play
Disadvantages: Very boring, Doesn't Let You play Beats, Just A God Awful Game
...This is a very different review for me, so I hope you enjoy it. Please rate and comment. Thank you.
Wii Music
I have spent weeks trying to get Wii music from Game at a good price, I missed the sale, so the only prices they had left was £34 and there was no way in hell that I was going to buy a game at that price.
After a very hectic day, we ended up in a small town whilst my sister was getting her brace fixed, after sitting in the car in a traffic jam for 2 hours to get there (in the heat mind you), we were about ready to pass out in the car, so went for a little walk and found a blockbusters. There sitting in front of me was the game I wanted for £22.98 which was the price I was willing to pay.
I came home with the game and for about 10 minutes I had great time learning the controls and playing the different games...

Havana ball in Cuba!
Advantages: Loads to see and do, great people
Disadvantages: Many hustlers, can become tiring
...). The factory is quite small but you aren't rushed around and get plenty of time to see at close hand how these luxury items are made. After the tour its back to the factory shop to pick up some souvenirs or presents for family at home, the prices though are not reduced just because it is the factory shop - some of these cigars go for 700 Dollars a box!!
The other part of Havana is made up of narrow streets crammed with colonial palaces, churches and ancientfortresses. While there are many museums and churches to visit, it is possible to appreciate this area simply by strolling the picturesque cobbled streets most of which is closed to traffic making it safe and easy to get around.
Cuba has museums to suit any traveller - fine arts and furniture, coins and bank notes, mediacal history, education under the revolution, music - you name it, there...
