My First Scalextric Set

My First Scalextric Set Having seen the Ad on TV and Boy really desparate for one I thought this the best to go for in the way of remote control race track as at 4 he's really not old enough for a big expensive set so he got this for Christmas. Cost us £30 from Toys'r'Us though can be found in many other stores and on-line, the price is about the same everywhere but you may find it a bit cheaper. Age on box states not suitable for under 3 years, due to small parts and functional sharp edges - we haven't found any particularly sharp bits yet ? so unsure which bits that refers to. Also tells you that new controllers may become warm and emit vapour and give off slight smell -this is normal and disappears after use. Nice ! Our first Race.. The track is easy enough to click together, to create a simple figure of eight...

My First Ready Bed - what a fab product!

Advantages: Fun, easy to use and great value for money
Disadvantages: None Found!

...when we found the 'My First Ready Bed' (suitable from 18 months to 5 years old) on the Great Little Trading Co web site. It is an inflatable junior sized bed (125 cm long by 71 cm wide and 30 cm high when inflated) with two bumpers which run down either side to ensure your little sweetie doesn't roll out. It is super easy to use, just put the plastic lilo style bed inside the cover, pump it up with the pump provided, close the Velcro seals on the cover and you're ready for bed! It takes less than five minutes - fantastic! The pump comes with two settings to inflate and deflate. The inflating, as just mentioned, is great. The deflating takes a while and I found it less hassle to just unplug the stopper and leave it to deflate while we have breakfast! Review of My First Ready Bed

My first day at nursery, no longer a baby...sob!

Advantages: Helps the parents come to terms.
Disadvantages: Not a first reader book.

...I have previously reviewed a book on "the first day at nursery", the previous book concentrated on persuading the child reader (or in my case listener!), that nursery would probably be a little scary but an experience they would soon love. The book I will now review is a similar book, content wise but gives the impression that this is aimed more towards the mother and father reading the story to the child, and maybe deal with a few of their insecurities towards their child suddenly going from being their "baby" to almost a school child?.. And trust me I speak from experience, my youngest Connor starts nursery in two weeks. It really makes me sound harsh, I was upset when my daughter went through this a few years ago, but I always knew I would have more children to endure this experience with, but the "baby" is likely to be my last...

What is My first Scrabble?

Advantages: Great for teaching children how words are built.
Disadvantages: I can't think of any!

...When my mother-in-law asked me what I thought she could buy my daughter for her fifth birthday I suggested My First Scrabble, having seen it in Woolworths a few days earlier for around £14. My daughter was very impressed with it as she always wants to play her brother's junior version but finds it too difficult as she has special needs and a very short attention span. As this game is for ages 3-6 I wondered whether she might grow out of it too quickly but that hasn't proved to be the case. The game has 31 plastic tiles ( yes, I know there are only 26 letters in the alphabet but there are two of every vowel) which come in 4 different colours (a row of red, one of green, another of orange and the final row is pink) and every letter has a line underneath to show which way up it goes. There are also picture cards in 4 different levels...

My First Noddy Track Set

Advantages: My kids love the car and the Plod and Noddy figures
Disadvantages: Thats all they love about it!

...I bought this Noddy Track set for my almost 2 year old at Christmas because he is absolutely nuts about Noddy. He was so delighted when he opened it up and disregarded everything else and wanted to play with it immediately. I really thought it was present of the year.. When I opened up the set all the lovely easy to grip pieces came out, 12 pieces of track which kind of made a figure of eight with bridge over the centre, two lamposts,two directional arrows, a petrol pump, traffic light, Mr.Plod, Noddy and finally his famous red and yellow car. The 12 piece track is very chunky thick plastic and fits together like a puzzle and is very easy for little hands to grab which is great when they can put it together themselves but not so great when all they want to do is dismantle it. The lamposts and road directional signs are lovely...

He was around 8 years older than me and I thought he was the bees-knees. It was during a swimming competition that I thought my life had come to an end. Some woman had come up to me and asked 'have you seen Dave?' , I replied that he was talking to the Officials and asked to take a message for him' She then replied 'Can you tell him that Lucy is here'. So thinking nothing of it and passing the message to Dave when he returned - it only turned out that Lucy was his new girlfriend!!! I was mortified, he didn't know that I liked him...

My First Leap pad Educational + Entertaining !

... My First Leap pad Basically it's an interactive educational toy aimed at pre-school children aged 3-5. We started with the Leap-pad-Little-touch when the Boy was smaller and moved onto this one when he was 3. The My First Leap Pad Learning System itself is mainly blue with a few other colours here and there, like the 'magic pen', speaker, and on off button. It's quite a compact unit with a handy carry handle to one side, it's lightweight and easy to transport so a good toy for traveling in car or taking to Granny's house and the like. How much ? We bought ours for just over £25 online, are available from many stores Argos, Toys 'r' Us etc and not hard to find but I would recommend shopping around online for the best deals. It comes with a book and cartridge to get you started - we got "Leap's Big Day...

I was baffled by the fact that I had not actually noticed the range before, and was instantly keen to try. I fell in love with the products once I sampled the fruity yoghurts they had to offer, and decided I would try some of the other products. This was when I came across Rachel's 'My First Yoghurts'. Needless to say this product was not going to be my first yoghurt so it was hardly the tile of the product that won me over! In actual fact, it was the attractive packaging that first caught my attention. The four pack of yoghurts are held together by a cardboard sleeve.
