...It certainly was a very sad day when I discovered that Patrick Swayze had lost his battle against cancer, the odds were against him, but I thought that, like in the movies, it might have a happy ending. Sadly that wasn't to be. I have to admit I did cry and it was mainly for selfish reasons, I felt a part of my youth had died. Dirty Dancing was a huge hit when I was in my teens the 'nobody puts baby in a corner' line is one that most women my age will always remember. Many a happy time with the girls round, bottle of wine (ok a few bottles) watching Dirty Dancing and Ghost.....ah happy days. The Time of My Life Is a book that once started can't be put down, so please make sure you have some time on your hands before you start reading! MY TOP TEN BOOKS OF ALL TIME.

Advantages: Great reads.
Disadvantages: None.

...after reading this book. The meteor shower ends up burning out peoples eyes, permanently, rendering nearly all the human are blind. At the same time, the triffids which where being farmed for their oils and are walking plants that can kill whith their stingers, escape and the humans become hunted, slayed and eaten. A classic apocalyptic novel. My rating - 9/10 7. FEET OF CLAY Author - Terry Pratchett. A series of mysterious deaths comes to the attention of Commander Vimes who with the help of the 'watch' is trolls and Dwarfs sets out to solve these peculiar deaths. Enter a strange Golum who has begun to think independently, throw into this the exotic backdrop of Ankh-Morpok and the threat of civil unrest and this is my favourite pratchett story of all. Coming a close second is 'Going Postal' An excellent page turner. My rating - 9...

My Top 10 Movies Of All Time

Advantages: A purely subjective list - there's no right or wrong here.

...his customers shouldn't necessarily top the list of anyone's best films, but director Jean-Pierre Jeunet certainly piqued my interest with this black comedy about how the aftermath of an unknown catastrophe affected the residents of a tenement block in Paris. The aforementioned cannibalism is omnipresent yet indirectly referred to, and neatly counterbalanced by some sentimental yet never cloying clowning. I was hooked by the time the titles appeared - you'll have to watch the film for yourself but the first scene depicts the ingenuity, humour and sheer absurdity that Jeunet brought to his successive projects and to the rest of this piece. What I call the Jeunet Repertoire of Actors makes another appearance - Jean-Claude Dreyfuss personifies evil with his depiction of the butcher who kills his lodgers when they can't pay the rent, yet...

My Top Ten, For The Time Being

...Its been really hard to whittle my favourites down to just one short list of ten. Ten songs isn't enough to sum up my life but it's been fun to think about this. My musical taste is defined by one thing: I like what I like. I don't just like rock, or just like R'n'B, if I think its good, I will admit to liking it. I got the boxed set of the wonderful miniseries, 'To Serve Them All My Days', based on the novel of the same name by R.F. Delderfield. I saw this first when I was barely a lad of sixteen or so, just at my school-leaving age and going off to university. I was amazed then at how much from 'before the war' remained true to form for school, and watching it again now twenty years later, it stands up to the test of time perfectly well (and I was once again amazed at the true-to-life nature of the whole enterprise). The series won the BAFTA award for the best television series of its year, and rightfully so. Waqt - Took A Bit Too Much Of My Time

Advantages: Pleasant enough storyline
Disadvantages: Not worth 2.5 hours of your time really

..."Oh what a waste of several hours" either. There were a few too many songs in the film for my liking - cutting some of these down would have shaved maybe 30 minutes off the film. There was an unnecessary (I felt so anyway) comedy aspect to the film with the devoted family servant being rather simple (or dim) and lots of misunderstandings due to his inefficiencies. ~*~ CONCLUSION ~*~ If you're a die-hard Bachchan fan you'll enjoy it or if you have the hots for Akshay or Priyanka you'll enjoy it too (although the latter doesn't really have that large a part in the film). This film did quite well at the box office but personally I wouldn't rate it more than a healthy 6 out of 10. ~*~ OTHER RELEVANT INFO ~*~ Waqt runs for 2½ hours and is certified PG.
