Review of Aurora, Tivoli

Auroraing success

Advantages: Comfy for baby. Wide easy to clean tray.
Disadvantages: Assembly instructions poor. Difficult to adjust height.

.... I needed it to be very easily cleaned, and really wanted one with a double tray so that I could leave the baby to play for a few minutes whilst beginning the clean up. Of course there was also the 'oh so important' safety aspect to consider. The Aurora Plus has all these features; The chair has several recline positions. The cover is removable for serious cleans, and is easy to wipe clean on a day to day basis. It is nicely padded so my baby looks really at ease in it. It comes with a 5 point safety harness which, although perfectly functional, does not seem overly comfortable. They don't have any extra padded bits to slip over the straps like so many harnesses seem to come with these days. It can be slung in the washing machine, but is a little tricky to remove and you have to take some care refitting it correctly...

Review of Halloween 5 - The Revenge Of Michael Myers (DVD)

Sol Aurora, Umag, Croatia. Like Spain, Only better.

Advantages: Beautiful country, great hotel, nice food, cheaper than Spain
Disadvantages: None Really.

...My wife and I spent a couple of weeks at the Sol Aurora, Umag, in June 2007. We have been to several places around Europe, e.g. The Baleriks, Spain, Italy, but fancied something a little different. Not being a fan of flying, I usually look for places within a 3 hr flight from Leeds/Bradford, Croatia is only 2hr 20mins away, so seemed ideal. Umag itself is a very nice smallish town, with a small port, located to the north of Croatia, on the coast of the Adriatic, only a few miles from the boarder with Serbia. The locals are very friendly, the weather is similar to northern Spain, and with Croatia not being in the Euro, prices are very reasonable. The Sol Aurora Hotel is a 4 star, situated just north of the town of Umag, almost directly on the beach, wel, I say beach, it is actually a concrete sun terrace, but there are plenty...

...Autumn Aurora, the follow up to Drudkh's hugely atmospheric debut 'Forgotten Legends' , builds upon the debut's formula of sad, hypnotic, Burzumesqe riffs and reflective, mid-paced pagan black metal in a number of interesting ways. The songs have a folkier, more energetic edge this time round, with dynamic, even upbeat folk riffs taking a prominent role throughout, these often building to unrestrained melodic guitar solos that add a more hopeful and cheery dimension to the band's otherwise rather sorrowful sound. ...I love cooking, so always have a collection of books with lots of different recipes - including this one, which accompanies the TV series of the same name that was shown on the BBC and is often repeated on various food channels . The 'Hairy Bikers' are two guys, Dave Myers and Simon King , who met on a tv set and discovered they shared two passions - motorbikes and cooking . Neither of them are proffesional chefs - in fact , Simon is a locations manager who recently worked on Harry Potter films, whilst Dave is a make up artist specialising in prosthetics! In their show, they tour the world on their motorbikes, learning and trying out all the local recipes and sampling all the local produce, often cooking in strange locations such as a hillside in mexico or on a roof in Rome . Myers misses the target and fails to guru me!

...Well, this was my second disappointment of the day, I'm afraid. The other day, I watched Eastern Promises, and loved it. Then came The Day The Earth Stood Still, and I thought it was pants. So, after some violent crime drama and a bit of crappy sci-fi, I thought i'd try some light-hearted comedy. However, this is nothing more than a poor man's attempt at some of the frat pack films, such as Pineapple Express, Superbad, 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, etc. It doesn't even have the adult lewd humour that makes those films appeal to beer swilling, belching men. A Mike Myers film, The Love Guru takes the humour from Austin Powers and attempts to make a funny romcom with a bit of stupidity. It fails. It doesn't have charm and pinache of AP, nor does it have the screwy comedy that made it original. In fact, the plot is even a bit rubbish...

Michael Myers is back!

Advantages: Lots of blood, quite creepy,
Disadvantages: um... lots of gruesome stuff in it (good for me but not for everyone)

...I saw the first Halloween film about 4 or 5 years ago, and I really liked what I saw! It was full of action, and one of the scariest films I had ever seen. When I first heard that this was going to be on TV I was really looking forward to it, as the first Halloween is one of my favourite horror films. I wasn't too disappointed; it is quite a good film. Not as good as the original but not bad at all. I do like it enough to have bought it on DVD though. :-) So, the plot of the original film was?
