Most people remember the old classic Nokia 3210, quite heavy with its redeeming feature being snake. Since then Nokia has come a long way and I've had several Nokia phones in my time: the good old 3210, a 6210 which was originally intended for business and had a huge memory, a cute 6233 with a 2megapixel camera along with many other features, and finally a 6500 slide. WHY/HOW I GOT IT A couple of years ago a company called 'future phones' called me and I set up a contract with them for a 6233 on the 3 network. ... Intro Being the previous owner of a Sony Ericsson w850 for over 2 years, I decided that it was time for a mobile phone upgrade. ...hey guys! this phone is great. no two ways about it. havent personally heard of any problems occurring with software, which happened quite quickly with the original n95 and the n96, so hopefully this is getting better. STORAGE the phone itself comes complete with 32GB of storage, a massive amount for a phone, with the iphone only offering a 16GB max. also ,the N97 has expandable storage of an extra 16GB, so thats a massive 48GB in total! plenty of space for movies (which you can watch) tv shows, music photos etc. DISPLAY 3.5inch screen which has a handy little tilt in it, so you can actually set it flat on a table and still use the keypad, much like a teeny weeny laptop, or you can watch your movies etc like that. 16m colours so very high quality. Advantages: Good mix of features including high end features like 3.2MP autofocus camera and TV-out
Disadvantages: No wifi, Slight overheating

...autofocus. It has a variable amount of options more associated with photography like white balance but there are by no means comprehensive like N series or Cybershot range of Sony Ericsson phones. The resolution of 3.15MP produces 2048 x 1536 pixel images. In terms of video the phone is capable of VGA video recording but at 15fps and QVGA at 30fps. --- CONCLUSION --- I am very satisfied with the 6500s, it has some nice features and the build quality is good. The stainless stain design adds a few grams but is not a problem for me. I have heard lots of other people's complaints but I have not had any problems myself. There is perhaps a slight problem of overheating but most phones experience warming with calling anyway. Overall I would recommend this phone to others. Advantages: Good Looking, Durable, Huge Memory, Very Very Good QWERTY keyboard

...After recently getting rid of my old Orange contract and moving to O2 I decided to get a new phone as well. After much deliberation I decided on the Nokia 6500 slide in black. I could have got the silver phone at a much cheaper price but I decided that the black one looked too good to turn down. First Impressions If you look at the phone from a top down view you will see that the screen is quite big. Infact it is 2.2 inches which is fairly big. Below the screen are four buttons as well as 4 directional buttons in silver. The bottom two buttons are the main calling buttons. The one on the bottom left is the green "call" button which is used to dial a number you've typed in or look at the recent call list. The one on the bottom right is the "end call" button which ends calls and, when in the menu, takes you back to the home screen...

Advantages: Wide array of featues, good build quality, overall friendly interface, excellent call clarity.
Disadvantages: Battery life could be better, some features not implemented as well as possible.

...would still recommend the Nokia 6500 to any buyer, particularly those who have been missing out on a number of newer features. The problems I have encountered may be mildly irritating at the time but they only slightly detract from an otherwise very good product....

...After using my Nokia 6300 for around a year I decided to upgrade. I had the choice of a number of phones however opted to go for the Nokia 6500 Slide. I can see where some confusion can come from when it comes to the Nokia 6500: The Nokia 6500 Classic and Nokia 6500 Slide are two quite different phones. The classic came first and has a more traditional mobile phone layout and boasts a medicore 2.0MP camera. The slide on the other hand is the upgrade to the Classic and boasts an ultra sleek slide design with a pretty good 3.2MP camera with flash. It also comes with a front facing camera however unfortunately it can only be used while making 3G video calls and not just to take pictures. Although the phone looks very sleek and well built. I have had the phone for around a month and when I press the buttons it sometimes does not...
