Nokia N800 - great for the internet junkie
Advantages: Great surfing experience, nice screen
Disadvantages: Shame it does not make phone calls like a regular mobile phone
...The Nokia N800 internet tablet landed on my desk today, and having previously tested the N770 I was a little excited to see what had changed and/or improved. More importantly, would I now find a use for the device, when last time around I was left mystified as to how useful it would be for my day-to-day use.
Out of the box the design has improved a great deal. Gone are the slab-like looks of the previous incarnation and you can say hello to some smooth curves, a nice contoured back and a pleasant silver finish to the front. The buttons are a bit odd, sort of set off-centre, and a little non-tactile, but you won't find this a problem, as they are not used too much. The touch screen is the same as before, a glossy finish, very high resolution (800x400) and everything is really colourful, bright and pin-sharp (more on this later). Around...

The Energizer Battery Charger
Advantages: Good value for money
Disadvantages: Takes a long time to charge batteries
...I had been intending to purchase a battery charger for quite a while. In fact I had even dropped hints to certain family members around Christmas time, but to no avail. I was recently reminded of this missing piece of equipment in my life when I rediscovered the PC lead to my digital camera. Remembering that a pair of standard batteries lasted for only about 30 photos in this camera I decided that it was certainly time to invest in a battery charger and some rechargeable batteries.
I purchased an Energizer CHDCW8 ? 4 battery charger from Argos for just £9.99. This decision was based on several factors, the most important of which was the price and what I considered to be the best value for money. The design also played a part in my decision process, but in the end it was the price/value that were the strongest influencing factors...

N800 - extremely portable and full featured
Advantages: Great battery life, good screen resolution, very configurable
Disadvantages: Lacks a scroll page wheel/buttons
...I purchased the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet shortly after the newer N810 was released for a bargain price from play.com.
The N800 is basically identical hardware to the newer N810, only missing the pull out keyboard, the on-board 2gb of storage and the GPS chip. It supports bluetooth so it's possible to replace the keyboard and GPS with bluetooth accessories, and it supports SDHC cards for storage, so 2gb of storage can be picked up for a song nowadays.
The N800, once upgraded to the latest IT2008 software from Nokia, is faster than the stock IT2007 software as it increases the processor speed which was deliberately underclocked to prolong battery life.
There is a friendly and helpful community of people writing software for the Internet Tablets, along with official software provided from Nokia themselves. The screen is brilliant...

Compaq Evo N800 lasts and lasts and lasts
Advantages: Reliable, Durable, Great display, Portable desktop
Disadvantages: None
...Nearly 4 years ago I bought myself my first well known laptop after 3 lots of non branded ones. There is a world of difference and with careful selection I ended up with the Compaq Evo N800. What a break that turned out to be.
First things first - the screen is superb with top laptop resolution rather than the crappy max of 1280xnothing offered by most other models out there even today. 1400 x 1050 gives too small a font some might say. Load of rubbish. This screen has the best viewability I've ever witnessed by which I mean that it's easily readable from any angle in front of the screen. No, it's not widescreen but don't let that put you off.
Battery time is a solid 2-3 hours depending on activity and even after 4 years of the same battery it's still the same.
Layout of ports etc is pretty standard and the only thing...

Super Sony charger
Advantages: Fast Charge, Auto CutOff
Disadvantages: Only takes AA/AAA
...Getting fed up with constantly having to buy new batteries for our Wii remotes, we started looking into buying some of the rechargeable battery packs you can buy for them. I read a few reviews and decided that it would probably be better to buy a battery charger and a few sets of batteries instead.
After looking around I found the Sony High Capacity Super Quick Charger For AA And AAA Batteries and for £16.99 with four AA batteries included it seemed like a good deal, almost all of our electrical items seem to be Sony so with it being a brand we trusted I bought it.
The charger itself is fairly compact measuring 4" x 2½" x 1" (not including the power lead) it won't take up a lot of room, the power lead is also removable so you can store it away quite easily. The lead is also the same as the other Sony leads we have so if it gets...

Review of Sony Super Quick Charger BCG34HE4 - Battery charger 4xAA/AAA - included batteries: 4 x AA type NiMH 2500 mAh

the intelligent battery charger.
Advantages: Cheap, reliable, long lasting, reasonable price.
Disadvantages: Still gets warm. Plastic plug = breakable?
...---THE PRODUCT---
Definately glad to be an owner of one of these chargers, even though they seem quite pricey, the batteries are great as they are reusable, and you don't waste money on purchasing darn AA batteries, again and again. It's easy to use, don't take hours to charge like the previous models which took around 8 hours and meant that you had to leave it on over night, worrying that it would heat up and catch the house on fire.
I wouldn't be without this, endlessly purchasing batteries for items. Furthermore you can't use ordinary batteries in Digital Camera's as they are drained after you've took three photo's with the flash on. These therefore are robust and useful in the long run and will save you money and time.
---MODEL---
The model number is. RC104318 It's full charge happens in about 90 minutes, however I...

Review of Uniross Sprint 90 min - Battery charger 4xAA/AAA - included batteries: 4 x AA type NiMH 2500 mAh

Excellent Battery Charger
Advantages: Charging time of 5 hours, Includes 4 AA batteries, Compact design
Disadvantages: None
...The Uniross x-press 300 is a good charger which supports a range of different battery sizes. I bought this charger last year because I bought a wireless mouse and keyboard so made more sense getting rechargeable batteries rather than spending money on normal batteries every few weeks. I went with Uniross as they make decent rechargeable batteries and are well known for it.
This x-press 300 charges AAA, AA & 9V size batteries. It lets you charge 2 or 4 AA/AAA and one 9V batteries of the same type at the same time. It's suitable for AA, AAA and 9V (PP3) NiCd and NiH batteries. To use AAA batteries you simply flip down a little holder within the charger and it will hold the AAA batteries to charge.
The plug in design makes it easy to use and the built in mains transformer means there are no leads or adaptors. You simply plug it in...

A 'smart' charger worth buying
Advantages: Low cost, Car charger inc, fast charge times, battery charge detection
Disadvantages: Cautious on overcharging leaving batteries not 100% full
...I picked up this charger a few days ago for £8 with 4 1000mah AAA batteries which seemed like a great price to me for a 'Smart' charger.
In the package I got the charger (quite slim) a standard plug adaptor and a car charger making it ideal to take around with you ensuring you never miss out on a photo perfect moment.
The charger has space for 2 or 4 AA or AAA batteries and has quite a rapid charge time. Here are the charge times quoted by Uniross:
Charging Times: AA 1300mAh : 120 mins, AA 2500mAh : 255mins, AAA 900mAh : 180 mins
It is not the fastest charger around but clearly not the slowest. The main reason why I choose this charger was as it had a charge detection system allowing it to detect how much charge a battery needs until its full. This would be standard you would expect but still many chargers are sold which...

Review of Uniross X-Press 700 - Battery charger - AC / car 4xAA/AAA - included batteries: 4 x AA type 2500 mAh

Good battery charger for it's price
Advantages: Charges quickly, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Doesn't feel too strong... Not much of a problem.
...I bought this so that I wouldnt' have to keep paying for batteries all the time for my camera. Most battery chargers cost a lot more than this one did (I bought this one for about £12, from Amazon), so it was good to get a deal on it.
The package includes the charger itself, 4 AA batteries and a car adapter, so you can charge your batteries in the car.
The batteries are easy to insert, there are two spring-loaded extensions that spring out. These are so you can charge AAA batteries as well, and they fold away when you're charging AA batteries.
I find that charging batteries doesn't take very much time at all, I just leave them in for a short while and after a short while the red light turns green to show that the charge is complete.
The build of the charger doesn't seem very strong, it feels rather plasticky. However, I haven't had...
