...to explain everybody I don´t need a Taxi. I am only here for some hours and I fly to Nairobi. “Why you are here? What you do in Nairobi?” To much questions an till I got tired. But I wanted to be friendly and I give all a answer. Now I had to look for the counter – service from Kenya Airways. But suddenly come one man from nowhere. He ask me, if he can help me. I was big surprised and I speak Yes to him. Now he explain everything and he show me the Check – In for Kenya Airways. On the entrance stand one Security – Man and he looked me. He start to smile because he see how much I sweat. Well, for this weather I had not the correct Clothes. He told me, I can go toilette and change my clothes. I made it and I felt me better. When I come out from the toilette this man see me again and he had to laugh at me...

Great experience Kenya- Mombasa and Nairobi!!!!

Advantages: Great People, Great Nightlife, Great Experience!
Disadvantages: Too many things to see, short time..!!

...Kenya has a lot to offer. Nairobi is the Capital city and Mombasa being the second largest town. There are very things one can experience in both cities. In Nairobi, there are a lot of entertainment spots. For example, The Carnivore bar and restaurant, (where you can taste game meat plus nightlife)or the Casablanca.. (Really nice)?or you can head off to Westland?s area where there are many clubs and it?s only five minute drive to the city centre. There are many good hotels too e.g. the holiday inn, Hilton, Panafric, Grand Regency, The intercontinental. You can get pocket friendly hotels; all you have to do is shop around. Alternatively, if you intend to stay longer you can rent a furnished apartment in areas such as Hurlingham or Westland?s. You?ll pay far much less than staying in a hotel. Niarobi - Open your Eyes !

Disadvantages: Unhealthy for kids who live on the street

...Central Nairobi, the Yaya centre, a shopping mall that would be suited to any modern city in the world, but is this really Kenya? Nairobi is an interesting city, colourful, inviting, busy, relaxing, all at once. From street traders to guys who wash your windscreen at the lights, people everywhere are on the make, and doing it well. The night life is good, and excellent restaurants can be found at every street corner. A great place for shopping is the Yaya centre, it has everything under one roof! A place I wouldnt give a miss though is the shanty towns..... Thats right, the shanty towns. If you turn off the streets, you will find the real Niarobi, a city made of people eating refuse and living in slef made homes, made of plastic and cardboard. ...Not quite in the city but read on as I take you on a virtual tour of the Capital City of Kenya... Nairobi is a huge city - I know this to be true having walked backwards and forwards across it on various errands relating to work and it is fairly easy to find your way around. Served by two airports: Jomo Kenyatta International (about 20 mins. drive away and a taxi will set you back about £25.00) and the much smaller Wilson airport just outside town which serves internal destinations such as Mombassa and the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Intercontinental Hotel, Nairobi

Advantages: fully equipped and comfortable
Disadvantages: expensive

...fantastic. With full DSTV and all channels it comes with plenty to entertain you. Coming with complimentary water and all the others you expect of a 5 star hotel it certainly lives up to expectations. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is fully equipped with everything you will need for your stay. The best bit however is the perfect view across the park in central Nairobi from the french windows. The hotel caters for every need and the cuisine is just as good. simply go down to the ground floor (for which there is a gentleman on every floor who will call the lift for you as you leave your room) and choose from one of the 5 restaurants there. I would recommend the buffet restaurant, where lunch consists of a huge range of salads ( you can even have your own made up) and a selections of soups, rices, meats and of course a brilliant...

...I was just looking back at my photos from my holiday in Kenya last year and felt compelled to write about the wonderful places we stayed and attractions we visited. It feels like being back at school having to write about holidays we went on!! I went to Kenya last June with my Mum, her fiancee and my little sister (well not so little at 23!). Mum and my now step dad were getting married out there are took me and my sister out to celebrate with them. Having seen Africa on TV I wasn't really too keen on going, especially having to leave my husband behind for 2 weeks, however, I really wanted the chance to celebrate my Mum's wedding and who can turn down a free holiday! Nairobi the gateway to the Safari

Advantages: Convenient starting point to Kenyan and Tanzanian safaris
Disadvantages: Area rather dangerous if out alone

...First contact.... This was the first stopping point that my husband and I stayed on our honeymoon to Kenya and Tazania in July 2004. My husband's parents had very kindly booked and paid for our honeymoon as a wedding present. However, it is possible to make reservations for this hotel through expedia online, calling direct and by booking a "Serena Safari" where you stay in the 4 star Serena lodges and hotels which are dotted around Kenya and Tanzania. Getting there............... It took about 45 minutes by taxi to get to the hotel from Nairobi's International airport - mainly due to the traffic rather than the distance (18kms). My main observation on this journey was the very bizarre sight of giraffes on the open spaces beyond the roads! First Impressions....... The impressive hotel is set well off the road in lush green...

...Kisii is situated in Western Kenya, and is best known for Kisii stones. Kisii town has little to commend it as a tourist destination other than the splendid lush countryside - the area is one of the most fertile in Kenya. As with much of Kenya, the infrastructure is in a poor state of repair, and there are some people in extreme poverty. If you are white, expect to be pointed out by children and asked for money and sweets, especially in more rural areas where whites are pretty uncommon. The locals are friendly to visitors, especially where they think there may be business opportunities. Travel through Kisii by road is bumpy and risky although not as frightening as the Nairobi-Mombassa highway. (There are no trains.) I travelled to Mombassa Kenya in July of this year and i have to say i think it was the best holiday i have been on! I have totally fallen in love with Africa and the African people! I am even thinking about saving up so i can travel there sometime in the future with my friends! I stayed in a hotel called The Voyager Beach Resort, the hotel itself is situated on the beach and is approx. 10 mins from Mombassa Town. The views are breathtaking across the ocean and if you have a sea view room then this is what you are to wake up every morning for the next 2 weeks!!
