...I have been living in Nantes for the past six months as part of my university Year Abroad, so I thought I might as well write a review on the city itself! **General Info** Nantes is situated in western France, on the Loire River. It's the 'prefecture' of the Pays de la Loire region, which is sort of like the 'capital' of the area. It's the eighth largest city in France, and is only a short journey away from the coast. **The Town Centre** The city centre of Nantes has a very French feel to it - there are cafes and bars with pavement tables everywhere; old cobbled roads and little narrow streets with traditional French architecture. ...I have been living in Nantes for 6 months now, and I thought it was about time I let you all know what it was like! Nantes is a very large but little known city in Mid-West France, which is, as cities go, absolutely stunning. I am studying law in Nantes as part of my university course in Cardiff. One of the main reasons why I ended up here is because the town is twinned with Cardiff. This is not particularly surprising, as the two cities seem to have quite alot in common. Nantes is of a similar size to Cardiff, ie. big enough to have everything you need, but small enough to prevent the feeling of intimidation and stress that you get in huge places like London and Paris. Plenty all, not a lot of nothing.

Advantages: Good performances, stunning camera work, fantastic soundtrack, great story.
Disadvantages: Plot at times a little difficult to follow.

...I have travelled the length and breadth of the U.K. and also here in France where I live. I noticed that there was a place to write about British Motorway Service stations, and asked Ciao to add this as I thought it would be useful to people thinking of travelling in France. From Nantes downwards and acrosswards in France, we have motorways which are toll roads that take you for miles without having to go through towns. This is the quickest way to travel long distances, and I was a little apprehensive the first time that I travelled alone. I thought that they were going to be really busy roads and also that they would be exceptionally fast and dangerous, but my experience surprised me. What surprised me the most is how well the French Motorway Services cater for the driver. They are geared to family travelling, and the Motorway...

Camping at La Bessiere in the summer

...Camping "LA BESSIERE" BLESLE. This year we decided to go on a camping holiday in France. Our destination was Nant in the Midi-Pyrénées Aveyron region. Now it is a long journey by car from Calais as Nant is 957km, 8.40,hours driving without stops, (Michelin route guide) so we decided to break our journey and camp at Blessle in the Auvergne region for a couple of nights . Blessle according to Michelin is 776km and 7 hours 8 minutes drive from Calais. I booked our camping through the tourist office http://www.tourist-office.org/tourisme/france/auvergne/haute-loire/blesle.htm. This was because I did not trust the website of the campsite to be virus free. I tried to phone the campsite but my French was not good enough to make myself understood. The William Aston Hall offers a variety of classical music concerts or you could pay a visit to. The Grove Park Theatre to watch a play or Panto. Wrexham also has a multi-cinema situated on the Plas Coch site showing all the latest releases. For sightseeing, there is the National Trust house of Eddigg or the country park of Nant Mill.
