...I have a 'new' niece who is currently 14 weeks and she is wearing Huggies Newborn size 2 nappies and my review is based on these. The size 2 is designed for babies who weigh 3-6kg and you get 40 nappies for £5.98 from Tesco stores although these are currently on offer for £5.00 per pack. The nappies are very lightweight and pretty in design. These particular nappies have Winnie The Pooh on them and although my niece is too young to appreciate this I am a fan of the design, as is my sister (who chooses this brand every week at shopping!). The nappies are white and have an elasticated waist allowing them to mould better to the shape of an individual baby (as we all know they can greatly vary in size!). Down with swollen nappies

Advantages: Do what they're supposed to, don't leak, don't swell up, cute designs
Disadvantages: Not as cheap as buying washable swim pants, not very green

And what is the point of them? Can't they just go nude or wear a regular nappy? As we all know children that aren't potty trained will poo and wee anywhere they fancy, including swimming pools. The best nappy by far!

Advantages: Extra absorbencey, value for money, comfort.
Disadvantages: Can only find these in Asda!!!!

...Why be a nappy snob? I've found that you are expected to use either Pampers or Huggies nappies, and in my experience these result in a leakage 1/3 times. I was converted to Asda nappies (Little Angels NOT Smartprice!) after a friend gave me 5 of her sons to try out on my son after i complained of my son constantly weeing up his back whilst using Pampers. COST: These nappies cost £3.97 per pack (of 32). Other brands can be up to a £1 more for the same, or even less nappies. They can also be found on special offer of 3 packs for £10.00 - the saving on this is massive compared to all other brands. And as they are constantly on offer, you don't have to buy in bulk. ...I have to start by saying that I've had somewhat of a turn-around in opinion regarding Tesco Nappies of late. Previously I was the first to jump in raving about how "blooming useless" they all were. However I recently realised that it's because of the type of nappy I'd previously tried and have discovered a perfectly good alternative in recent weeks. I first used Tesco nappies when my son was a newborn and found them acceptable for use during the day but problematic at night. I put my son in reusables from a couple of weeks old so I happily went and paid a premium to use Huggies super dry for bedtimes (the reusables didn't last the night either). Advantages: Keeps baby dry

...These are really brillant Nappys I find that my son can stay dry up to 12 hours ( overnight) without them leaking. so really good if you dont want to keep changing nappies every hour or so or even have baby waking up because of a wet nappy The nappys are reaaly good at absorbing moisture away from babys skin so no nappy rash with these nappys They are also excellent for staying up - My son is now a active toddler that runs around everywhere and they are just what he needs. The nappys fit around my sons legs perfect with no chafting or rubbing to the skin which is brillant. I would recommend these nappys and have tried and tested a few brands on my son and have found Pampers to be one of the best...

Nappies nappies everywhere

...I was recently given som tesco bay essential nappies to try and i have to say i was more than a little sceptical about them. I have always been a pampers fan and seeing nothing wrong with them saw no point in changing. However i thought i would give the tesco ones a go. They cost around £6.79 for a pack of 56 which is the biggest pack size I have seen, I dont think they do a jumbo value box or anything like that. I opened the packet and was not blown away by the feel of them at first as compared to the active fit nappies they had a slightly shiny plasticky feel to them however I later discovered an advantage to this. I put the first one on my little lad and the first thing I noticed is they are slightly tricky to put on if you have been used to the pampers caterpillar flex as there is no give in the side tabs of the nappies. ...I thought I'd add an extra paragraph to this opinion as me and baby have now been using tots bots for 9 months. Although this was written when she was only 2 weeks, everything in it is still true! The only change is that she's now in the size 2 nappies and for those I chose the ones without velcro fastenings, but I'll add a little extra below about that. I decided to use reusable nappies a long time before she was born for two reasons really. First I hate waste. Apparently 5% of *all* household waste in the UK is made up of disposable nappies – a ridiculously high figure when you consider that the proportion of households with babies is very low.
