Tommy TIppee nappy wrapper
Review of Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper by
traceysayer
Advantages: Easy to use, no bags lying around
Disadvantages: expensive refills
...We bought the Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper in preperation for the birth of our son.
The Tommy Tippee nappy wrapper has been developed in association with Sangenic, and is designed for use in a baby's bedroom to get hygenically dispose of nappies.
WHAT IS IT?
The Nappy Wrapper is a plastic bin with a lift-up lid. Under the lid is a hole in which you insert nappies.
The idea is, when you have a used nappy, you put it into the top of the bin, which puts it into a carrier bag. You then twist the top which twists the carrier bag, and locks away smells.
You can then keep 'adding' nappies until the bin is full, at which point you use the inbuilt cutter to remove the 'sausage' of nappies which can then be put straight into the wheelie bin, and a new sausage started.
To use the nappy wrapper, you need a cartridge which contains the 'carrier...

A great way to dispose of smelly nappies!
Review of Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper by
katherine78
Advantages: Easy way to dispose of smelly nappies
Disadvantages: Refills can be expensive if they are not on special offer
...I bought this nappy wrapper from Mothercare when I was pregnant with my son, it was on offer so I paid £15, this included one free refill cartridge. The wrapper works by fitting a refill cartridge, the cartridge contains a long roll of plastic. You push the nappy into the top and then twist a ring at the top, this twists the roll of plastic around the nappy, like a small bag. Then you can add the next dirty nappy on top and twist again, when the wrapper is full you remove the lid and remove all the dirty nappies which have been hygienically wrapped in the plastic.
When I bought my nappy wrapper the cartridges were on offer in Mothercare and you could buy 3 for £9.99. I recommend you stock up while they are on offer! You generally need to empty the nappy wrapper every 4-6 days (depending on the number of nappies used). I have found...

Nappy wrapper - it stinks
Review of Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper by
EmBe
Advantages: handy for disposing of smelly nappies
Disadvantages: expensive, tricky to use, expensive refills
...Now, from the title of this review you are probably all going to think that I am going to be extremely negative about the nappy wrapper. This is not really the case, I am just frustrated that I have been conned into buying what is really just an expensive bin and another baby gadet aimed at sucking the cash out of my already overused purse!!
So, lets get to it.... I brought the Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper when I saw it half price in Mothercare. I think I paid about 12.99 instead of 24.99 - boy am I glad I only paid half price!!
The nappy wrapper works as follows:
On removing said nappy from baby, open lid, deposit nappy into bowl, push down into unit and then rotate handle on bowl once to wrap the nappy.
The instructions sound simple enough and maybe I am just too tired to figure it out but it took me several attempts to get the hang...

Tommy Tippee saves the day
Review of Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper by
glitter-fairy
Advantages: don't have to make loads of trips to the bin because of bad odours
Disadvantages: there are none
...PRODUCT
Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper is basically a bin that holds dirty nappies until you are ready to take them outside, however I really couldn't live without it!
The nappy wrapper is a bin which you put cassette in. The cassette is a round plastic disks which is one large bag stuffed in. When you have a dirty nappy you push it in the top of the bin and push down pulling a bit of the cassette with you, then there is a handle to turn which wraps the nappy up so no bad odours can escape and the lid then shuts down on it, when it is full (the bin holds about 30 nappies) you press the scissor symbol down and turn the handle all the way around the bin and the bag is then neatly ripped for you to tie and take out.
It sounds complicated but believe me it's not.
CASSETTES
The CASSETTES that go in the nappy wrapper come in two sizes:

thats a wrap
Review of Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper by
mussonanna
Advantages: quick, easy to use, no smells
Disadvantages: slightly more expensive buying the refills than nappy bags
...Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper is a small yellow bin (also available in White and purple) which houses smelly nappies. By the cunning use of a continuous reel of plastic, you are able to push nappies into the bin, twist the top and seal the nappy in ready for the next time, thus creating a long sausage, if you like of nappies. the great thing about this is that the smells are sealed away with the nappy.
The bin is very easy to assemble, and the cartriges of new wrappers are very easy to replace, everything slots in together easily and you simply tie a knot into the end of the wrapper before sealing the top back on. When your bin is full, a quick twist of the lid will slice through the bag allowing you to empty the bin and start again.
The cartriges cost around £5.00 each time, but we are now into our 6th month of use and have only had...

Wrap Away The Smell!
Review of Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper by
newby2
Advantages: hides the smell
Disadvantages: cutter not good and doesnthold many
...Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper by Sangenic
I saw this product whilst I was pregnant and decided that for the price it was maybe a little steep and I would try just to look for some sort of bucket with a sealed lid to use for putting all the dirty used nappies in. I searched high and low for a bucket with a lid but could not find one anywhere!! I therefore saved up my Amazon vouchers and finally had enough to purchase this nappy bin that came with 6 of the bin liner cassettes.
For the total price of £34.95p I received my nappy bin with 6 liners within a couple of days and I thought it really did look the business. The liners that come with the nappy bin are slightly scented to take away any pong from the used nappies and this I know now is really needed.
Setting up the bin for use was pretty simple. The lid only fits on one way...

Surprisingly useful
Review of Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper by
thetangerinebear
Advantages: No smells, no mess, easy to use
Disadvantages: Refils pricey,
...hand and realising it just won't fit in!
A really useful addition to our nursery. It really has proved itself a great buy although it is just a shame that the refills are so dear, at about £5. If you do find yourself struggling to afford these I have seen a nappy wrapper in use with a plastic bag in place instead, being used to collect nappies wrapped in nappy bags. With the lid down it still keeps smells away....

No Hassle Nappy Bin
Review of Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper by
shonalaing80
Advantages: No running to the bin - easy to use
Disadvantages: Smelly when baby goes onto solids.
.... To use the nappy wrapper you need to have the cassettes that fit inside it which you will be able to buy in most supermarkets and chemists as well as specilised baby shops and will be able to let you dispose of up to 120 nappys. The cassettes come in two different types - 0-6 months and over 6 months (due to the change in smell when babies start eating solids.
Cost
To buy the actual nappy wrapper is about £30 - but usually you will be able to find it on offer somewhere for about £15 and then you will need to but the cassettes which are about £4.50 per cassette.
Personal Expereince
This for me was a fantastic product - the nappy simply was put in the wrapper and that was it dealt with - no running up and down the stairs with dirty nappys. However, after my son got well and truly into the proper food thing I found that the bin started...

Not a very usefull invention
Review of Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper by
kitty1801
Advantages: Reduced smell
Disadvantages: Price of bin & cartridges, ease of use
.... The bin still smelled slightly even with the fragranced nappy wrap.
The reason we stopped using it was firstly cost and secondly, when our son started to crawl he could easily open the bin and pull all the nappies out (although they were sealed it still wasn't very nice).
We now just buy nappy sacks and put the bags in the kitchen bin or out in the wheelie bin. The nappy wrapper cartridge supposedly takes up to 100 nappies but I don't think it took more than 70 and cost £3.33 (when you get them on special offer) but they can cost up to £4.99. Whereas a bag of good nappy sacks costs 75p and they definitely take 100!
I would suggest that unless you get this off someone for nothing and can get the cartridges REALLY cheap then it's not worth the hassle. Just get bags....

Time saving device for busy Mummies and Daddies!
Review of Tommy Tippee Nappy Wrapper by
Wackywaith
Advantages: Saves time and energy going to the dustbin
Disadvantages: Can become smelly; Mechanism to cut bag is annoying
...The Tommee Tippee nappy wrapper was given to me second-hand by my sister because she knew it was on my list of wants for our new baby. I have been using it now for about 2 years.
The actual size of the bin is about the size of a small kitchen bin - just under 0.5m in height and 40cm diameter so it's not too intrusive in your nursery. Ours is in yellow which is great because it matches our nursery, although they are making blue ones now which is great if you have a boy I guess!
Mine was free but they seem to be permanently on offer in places like Mothercare and Tesco for £12.99 which is half price. I figure that they are making money on the cassettes for inside the bin that you have to replace and so the retailers can afford to sell the bin cheaper! The refills are around £5 and each refill will seal approx 150 nappies...
