The company which has 15 blood centres in the country aim to deliver blood all over the country for important issues. The company was formed in 1946 as the Blood Transfusion Service and I actually call it this due to my parents has always referred to the company by this name. The name did change in 1991 to the National Blood Service and each year they collect 2.1 million donations of blood and 8,000 units a day. Review of National Blood Service

National Express - can't complain

Advantages: on time, comfy, cheap
Disadvantages: lack of luggage storage

...I used to book a lot of tickets with GNER who owned this east coast line before National Express took it over. The National Express East Coast journey is one from Huddersfield/Wakefield/Leeds to Stevenage. I take this route several times a month so know what's a good price etc. The trains are reliable and in the 3 and a half years that I've taken this journey I've only ever had 3 problems (1 major, the other 2 were minor) and so I can compliment this company and GNER highly. The trains are all very comfy and all that I've been on have a refreshment carriage and often a refreshement trolley going down the train as well. The only negative I can say about the trains is that there is a lack of luggage storage, particularly on the busy trains when nearly everyone has a bag! It?s not a film I had heard of before, and the reason I watched it was because it was on the film list for a course I am taking at university. The film is based on a novel by Thomas Dixon called ?The Clansmen?. I had read up a little bit about the film before I started watching it so I wasn?t as surprised as I might have been about the content. The film was (and still is) controversial for promoting white supremacy, and I thought most of it was quite racist! Advantages: cheaper than flying/trains at short notice

...So after my happy experience travelling the other weekend I'm off on my travels again, this time risking a foray in to the world which my parents inhabit. So as Bolton has no airport, Lydd has no train station but both have bus stops it seems logical that I would consider getting the coach to Bolton. This is as far as I know the only national coach service in the UK (although in Scotland it is run under the City Link name) and is a member of the european Eurolines coach network. I booked my travel using the nationalexpress.com website the site is mildly confusing if you don't want to use one of the their funfare or travel from one of their more popular stops. ...I've not been one to go the doctors much, and even when I was in labour with my son Harry, I didn't go to hospital until the last minute! But when Harry was born, I was more wary of his health and at the first sign of anything wrong, I'd pop him up to the doctor. Now he's older, I know the signs of when he is really ill, and for those other times, I have discovered the great service that is NHS Direct. NHS Direct is a telephone or web based service for the public to contact Doctors and Nurses who work for the NHS to get advice on medical matters. The servies are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and anyone can use them. My review is going to be of the telephone service, as this is the only one I have used. ...Hmmmmmm, not quite sure on how to do this but I would just like to write a review on using your local library services. I was a little surprised as to the area that it was in, but hey ho that is Ciao for you as they put it there supposedly! But anyway, back to the subject in mind. How do I use the library service? Well, you have to actually be a member in order to use pretty much any of the facilities that are on offer. It is usually free to join, but there are usually stipulations that you must agree to meet prior to joining: 1. That you are a permanent resident in the area that provides the service. If you live in Devon or Cornwall, then you can't use the service in Avon or Somerset.
