...This speaker is great. I have it at the centre of a room full of 601 S2 speakers. The sound is very well balanced, particularly for vocals as you would expect from a centre speaker. It sounds great for DVDs and also for music. In a home cinema setup it benefits from the addition of a subwoofer as the bass response doesn't get down to that range. Features -------- Technology from £35000 Nautilus speakers. Great looking yellow and black finish when covers off. Twin cable terminals to allow bi-wiring or bi-amping. The B&W XT4's are amongst the most beautiful to see and hear

Advantages: Stunning looks, stunning looks, stunning looks & superb sound
Disadvantages: Difficult to find, some manufacture flaws, small base without the feet

...work in unison so if you have tone control they handle the bass well combined with the cone loaded tweeter derived from the Nautilus and the paper-kevlar mid cone the treble and mid range are well balanced. These are perfect for music and film in a style-conscious setting. They are not bi-wirable, they are heavy and there were stories about flaws in the manufacture of the cases, my versions seem to be a victim but it isn't noticeable from viewing distance....

Rollicking Adventure under the High Seas

Advantages: lovingly remastered and viewable in its original scale, insightful and interesting extras
Disadvantages: once more region 1 gets a better deal with more special features

...the American Civil War, several ships are sunk "by a whale with a great horn". Professor Ned Land (Paul Lukas) decides he must discover the truth about the fabled beast, and undertakes a sea voyage with his aide Conseil (Peter Lorre). Their ship is sunk, and they, along with the ship's harpoon master (Kirk Douglas), discover the whale beast is actually a metal submarine called The Nautilus and captained by the despotic egomaniac Captain Nemo Jason Mason). They are taken aboard, and shown the future nemo envisions, with advanced diving equipment and sea farming, and experience adventure and wonders whilst aboard ship. The visualisation belies the era it was filmed (1954). Even the Technicolor it was filmed in was used for best visual impact as the heroic professor's bright clothes speak volumes against the gothicly clad Nemo, setting the mood...

Cancun - Don't waste your money

Advantages: The diving was excellent
Disadvantages: It's a manmade dump with overpriced restaurants and shops

...selling trips at a better price but they all seemed to charge the same. Everything in the hotel zone is expensive. I don't really know how any of the locals manage to buy t-shirts from places like the Hard Rock Cafe, or eat in any of the restaurants as they charge more there as they do in the UK, regardless of the cost of living. Perhaps there are different prices for the locals. The one thing I did enjoy about our 2 week break was the scuba diving. We dived with a company called Nautilus Diving who were really excellent. The dives were all boat dives and they charged approximately $50 for 2 dives including equipment. They only took small numbers and the crew were really helpful. If it hadn't been for the diving I would have gone insane with boredom. It was the only thing that was value for money in Cancun. If I could've got a flight...

Disadvantages: Disappointment all round.

...adventurer played by Sean Connery. Captain Nemo - He is the captain of the Nautilus submarine and played by Naseerudin Shah. Here, this was possibly the most convincing of the characters. The Invisible Man played unconvincingly by a Cockney Tony Curran Dr. Jeckyll/Mr. Hyde played by Jason Flemying and mundanely to say the least. A Vampiress called Nina Harker who has a husky voice and spends a lot of time acting in a ladylike manner and then tries to surprise people with her vampire ways. Lastly and here I would say leastly Dorian Gray played by Stuart Townsend, although I am not sure what a character of Oscar Wilde is doing in a world saving film, as his character portrayed by Oscar Wilde would certainly not lend itself convincingly to a roll like this !! ...Chances are you may well of seen a pair of these speakers, they often appear on TV programs and in films. These curvy pods of aural delight look like cross between a conch shell and a jelly baby. The story goes that some of the guys behind the legendary Nautilus speaks from B & W (£25,000 a pair), decided to go it alone and utilise their talents to produce a more affordable consumer version. The MiniPod is the result, and at around £275 a pair a good deal cheaper too. The speakers have a kevlar main cone above which sits a tweeter. Below sits a vent to allow the bass frequencies room to develop. They stand on three short alluminum legs with tiny rubber balls on the end (my balls fall off when I move them...)
