Advantages: Lovely maps and Intuitive
Disadvantages: 4-digit Postcodes and POI alerts are just not good enough

...Destination, Distance to your next turn, Compass Heading, Current Time, Current Speed, Time to Destination, Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), One thing I really like about the Navman i520 software is the ability simply to draw an ?avoid area? directly on the map screen encompassing places that you want to avoid and the route is planned without passing through it. This is great if there are roadworks or your local knowledge about roads in your area allows you to plan a better than the SatNav when left to its own devices. The iCN 520 uses the same ?camera food? as my Vivitar 5355 ? SD memory cards up to 4GB but I have a 2GB in mine, which is sufficient for maps of; UK, Ireland, and all of mainland Europe to street-level. And if I go on holiday I can archive the SD card onto my computer and use it to store extra pictures taken with my digital...

THE NAVMAN ICN 650

Advantages: VERY ACCURATE VERY EASY TO USE
Disadvantages: A LITTLE EXPENSIVE NO OTHER Disadvantages

...to not only obtain but hold a sat signal, and I have never experienced any problems on the iCN 630, iCN 630 V2 and iCN 650's antenna. The only issue you may have is if you have an Athermic coated windscreen (UV Coated), in which case purchasing a Navman external patch antenna and plugging it into the socket supplied on the side of the flip-up antenna should allow you to get a better signal. You can place the external cabled patch antenna onto the roof of the car or near to the "blind spot" where there is no coating. THE Speaker One thing I have always liked about the iCN 600 range is that the integrated speaker is loud, crisp and clear and won't be drowned out by engine noise or road noise. ...I Purchased the Navman back last year, from halfords for a heafty £249.99. But i have to say I have never looked back. Advantages: Quick and easy to install, i'm a women and managed to do it with no help, all I had to do with it was plug it in. The screen and navigation keys are very easy to use, and very clear, makes getting around the system alot easier. The map display is great, and yet again very clear, also has a Point of Interest option on it, which is very useful i.e if you have gone out for the day and you need to get to a garage for petrol or post office etc.. the list is end less on there. The map display can be changed, to either a map, or a list of instructions. with 2d and 3d maps. The display can also tell you your speed, the ETA, distance until you have a another turning, distance until you arrive at you location...

...This Sat Nav is a lovely looking kit. it is sleek and the buttons are well placed and are of good quality. The screen is extremely clear and large. It is also nice and robust Initial startup requires the SD card to be inserted and then the Maps loaded, this takes moments - new maps and upgrades are available from the Navman website - excellent! To find a destination, the postcode entry screen takes a little time to load but then you can quickly and easily find your destination through several menus. It calculates routes extremely quickly and options such as motorway route, speed/distance options mean multiple routes can be found the Navman voice isn't too annoying. if you take a wrong turn or choose to go a different way the Navman recalculates quite quickly. Its very accurate for your position and has only once got confused...

...Navman have got it right in so many ways. There are a few grumbles I have but overall they have done very well. Are you looking to get the best Sat Nav system on the market with all the bells and whistles on it? No. Neither was I. To be honest what I needed was a basic system to tell me to turn at the correct point to ensure that I did not spend time getting lost and swearing loudly at anything and everyone. After browsing the net for a few days I found that I could get the 320i for just over £150 delivered. That to me seemed like very good value so I clicked away and got the system a few days later. The manual that came with it is quite poor to be honest. But within 10 mins I had plugged all the various bits in and waited to get signal to tell me where I was. Navman 720 needs to get lost

Advantages: camera is a great idea, nice crisp display, good easy access buttons
Disadvantages: poor battery life, freezes regularly, bad customer service

...I looked around at anywhere likely to sell GPS systems and decided that I liked the features and look of the Navman best. Also, several sales people advised me against buying th Navman because the previous models were not the most reliable. But, I knew best, and so I bought it. Or rather, my wife bought it for me as it was a birthday present. It was a problem from day 1. The display (the hi-def display was the main reason I bought it) is incredibly clear and seems the largest of current GPS systems. ...Well, having read the other reviews I doubt I can top them, very thorough, however there are some things I saw that I can fill in on. At the end of the day, if you have £250 to spend on Sat Nav, either you will be looking at Tom Tom One and Navman ICN520. The difference between the two is that the Tom Tom One uses 20 Channel GPS compared to the Navman which has 12, and that the Tom Tom One has 7 digit post code finder. So looking at the black and white, the Tom Tom One wins.... well actually not for me. Hence my title, "Friends" see, there is software out there that can make the Navman search for 7 digit postcodes. Not only that, but as the Navman runs on Windows CE and the Tom Tom One doesn't, it can also be turned into a PDA with a touch senstive screen. That means you can listen to music on it, play games and use other PDA...

...The navman ICN 520 sat nav is a basic sattelite navigation system(sat nav) that is for those who do not drive a lot and want a simple to use and basic sat nav. Its mainly operated via the buttons on the right hand side of the screen but tries to incorporate a touch screen. The good thing about this sat nav is that it is not just a touch screen so for those drivers who may not be used to a higher level of technology it is very easy to use. I first bought this sat nav since I had no global positioning system(GPS) experience before and wanted a simple and basic sat nav which would guide me around my country and made sure I would never get lost.
