Get There With A Garmin 760
Advantages: good battery life and good instruction manual
Disadvantages: sometimes slow software and have to pay for camera feature after 30 days
...for free which they did for me when I bought it.
The features it has include the following?
Anti sunlight glare 4.3 inch display screen with touch screen feature
Nav-teq mapping system
Postcode searching
Secure Digital (SD) card slot
Integrated FM Wireless Transmitter
Bluetooth Hands Free Calling
The battery life is really good with this system and the manufactures say it lasts 4-6 hours I keep mine plugged into the car charger a lot of the time but I have known it last at least four and a half hours on its battery life and still have more left.
The Garmin 760 GPS receiver comes with
Nuvi 760 Sat Nav
Car Window Fixture Mount
Safe Away Carry Case
In-Car Battery Charger
USB Cable
Instruction Manual
I found the instruction manual really good even though the sales person in Halfords explained most of the features there...

A leap forward for Medion
Advantages: Simple to use, OK price, Large map selection
Disadvantages: No home charger, Poor Battery life, long repair times, No 3D maps
...buttons on the touchscreen which doesn't seem to have the alignment problem of the old software. This maybe due to the fact that you don't have a mini KB (PDA style) but a raw of keys with 3 letters each (like mobile phones). The postcode search is neater and labelled zip code (to confirm the American input via Navteq) but ONLY will accept if entered XX11 22 (only first two letters, number(s), space, number(s) omitting the last two letters of the postcode). This will not bring a door to door but only to the area. Street name and number should be entered kinda destroying the concept of a postcode search.
The PNA350 supplied with GoPal will not display 3D mapping even only PNA350 supplied with Navigator 5 (a product of Chicago based Navteq) will do so mind which product you want to buy.
The look and feel of the unit is very satisfactory...

Grundig Nav100 sat nav 100 from Germany
Advantages: Great menu and bright clear screen, Outlook Sync, Battery life
Disadvantages: Prices in the shops, but look for it on ebay you might get a bargain
...time, just download then on to the Nav100 and every time you want to look for directions click on their name, forget postcodes, street names, town, etc. The quality of the screen on this system is right up there with the high-resolution tft screens you would get on a PC and that's thanks to the Germans for not cutting any corners.
The maps come from Navteq and are pretty recent as far as GPS maps go. Companies like tomtom and Garmin make you believe you need daily or monthly updates so they can keep making more money out of you like Microsoft is doing. I mean, for god sake how often do we get a new street or a new postcode added to any city any where in the world??! You still get the upgrades for the Nav100 but I will never bother. It's just like Windows releasing a new version every damn year or so, which is supposedly better than...

Grundig NAV 100 sat nav system
Advantages: the only GPS with Microsoft ActiveSync, The only GPS that can work without a signal
Disadvantages: price could have been lower
...I agree, Grundig nav100 is definitely far better than any tomtom!! Why is the tomtom so popular here anyway?? I have had nothing but problems with my tomtom? All this is going to change when this little beauty is available in the UK. Well actually you can get it now, I got mine from amazon UK for £399.99 but apparently it will be launched officially next year. You can also get it from Europe but with postage it will cost the same anyway.
Ok, now my review? I love the fact that a 5 year old can use this, it's the most user friendly GPS ever, and the screen is almost like a High Definition TV!! It is so easy to see it in any lighting conditions. It's got this excellent pop arrows which I've never seen on other systems, I read some where destinator and navteq built this unique map and pop arrows just for the NAV100 and it works like...

"In 50m please turn left"
Advantages: Can be used with a gloved hand, easy to install, uses Mapsource
Disadvantages: Doesn't come with BT headset, display a bit wobbly, expensive
...small. The large ones are the ?Where to?? And ?View map? buttons, and the other two are for the MP3 player control menu and setting the screen configuration.
****Memory and Software****
The Zumo has a 1.9GB hard disc, of which 334MB is free for additional maps, MP3 files or photos (although why anyone would want to keep photos on their sat nav is beyond me).
The Zumo comes with City Navigator Europe V9. This contains full NAVTEQ maps of Western Europe as well as a few Eastern European Countries.
****Mounting the Zumo to the bike****
The installation process involves securing the bike mount to the handlebars using the U shaped bracket and two bolts (supplied in the box). This is a very simple operation that took me about ten minutes.
One thing I should point out is that the Zumo did not come with any padding or covering to...

For 07 (407), a decent Pug!
Advantages: strong engine, comfortable 4 seater, good boot space, plenty of gadgets, quite economical, nice looks
Disadvantages: no real involvement, not exciting,
...like the GPS in this car. It doesn't have postcode and is based on the 2002 Navteq disks so is out of date in some areas of the country including the A1. Also there isn't that much detail in the points of interest category so your choice is limited to what they could be bothered to put in. It is relatively quick to latch on to satellites and will usually get a full signal within a minute or so. It's just not that inspiring.
The radio and cd work well although not the best I've heard. Sometimes when you switch the radio off at night it loses the band over night. You just get static from AM when the last radio you listened to was Radio 4 (boring old fart that I am!). The stalk controls work well and you quickly get used to controlling the sound system with your right hand control. Here you can change volume, change station, choose radio...

More than just a car
Advantages: Looks, handling and the toys....
Disadvantages: Takes too long to polish!
...on the Vectra it has quite a few. These include some of the standard one's these days ABS, EBS, Airbags full electrics, also included is traction control and cruise control. However I have left some of the best toys to last..
As soon as you climb in the car you will notice the LCD screen on the middle of the dash, here you can view the satnav, radio/cd information and on board computer details. The screen is also used to display warnings about low temperatures, bulb failures and low windscreen washer levels.
The built in Satellite Navigation is manufactured by Navteq and is quite easy to use, allows post code entry, traffic warnings and automatic route diversions. The sat nav is easily updated to newer version by inserting the updated cd in the head unit. These cd's can either be purchased from the Vauxhall dealers or can be found on ebay...

Way to GO TomTom but...
Advantages: Screen Size, TMC, Bluetooth Hands free for Phone, Accessories
Disadvantages: Price, Extras at Price, Only GB and MRE, SD Card too Small, No Mp3 player facility
...again: How do you cancel it. Half way to a meeting I decided that I want to go and see my gf. I don't need directions but I want this thing on so I can use it as handsfree kit and I quite like the map view. How do you cancel it? How? How I ask you?
Well you can if you find the button to show everything in the menu and then tirelessly find where the cancel navigation is. A bit foolish I would say
The 510 and 710 are again left out because the voice only tells directions but it doesn't read the road names like the 910 does. Ohh come on now you are taking the ?. It really wouldn't be so bad if it didn't tell you in the manual that the 910 does. Makes you feel like in a competition of mine is bigger than yours.
MAPS
Maps are very good. They are made by TeleAtlas which is a Dutch company and the European rival to US Navteq. They are...
