There are plenty of high quality FMV sequences and the gameplays spot on, rolling along at a frenatic pace and keeping your attention right the way through. ...I have been a big fan of basketball games ever since tecmo basketball for the old sega genesis. Each year the games improve their game play and realism. I have NBA Live 96 of Sega genesis and NBA Live 97 for my computer. NBA Live 2000 blows both of those away; even the computer version. My biggest compliant about NBA Live 97 was that I could just push the opposing player out of bounds and create a ton of turnovers. NBA Live 2000 has fixed that problem. You can no longer push people out of bounds and if you try to hard you will get called for the foul. The graphics and gameplay are absolutely unbelievable. The players have a variety of moves and dunks are very realistic (you don't always succeed with a dunk, ala Shaq's missed dunks in the playoffs last year). ...This is the best NBA Street so far!! I've always loved the NBA Street series and I had to buy this game as soon as I had bought my PS3. To be quite honest I was expecting alot from this game following the previous excellent installment from EA Sports and I must say it exceeded my expectations. The controls can be a bit tricky at the beginning but as soon as you get passed that the game is first class! Graphics are amazing and the soundrack is great for hip hop fans. All the greats are on there. Even if your not an NBA fan this game is still amazing. Some the moves you can pull off just leave you wide eyed! They will hook you in straight away. Especially the new dunk off someones back move. This is just like NBA Live but with more flavour and fun. No more stupid foul calls for no reason. This game must be bought!... Read review

...Although NBA games and BasketBall games in general are nothing new, this game really drags you in. The graphic at 60fps are stunning and really do a great job of showing those great close-up moments when you slam dunk right in front of your opponent's face. Even the shine on the polished court is there. The sound is just right although after a while you will notice that the commentary does not necessarily go with the action! Small niggles aside, this game is the best Basketball game I have ever played (and there have been quite a few!) Even non-basketball fans will find themselves playing, and loving, this game, so it's not an exclusive game by any means.... Read review

...Since i like the NBA i decided to go out and get an NBA game and when i saw NBA Live 99 for a tenner i couldn't resist buying it. So i got home and put the game in my N64 and to my surprise i saw a rather dull interface which wasn't very colourful or eyecathching. The game consists of 5 modes: Season, Playoffs, 3-point shootout, Exhibition and arcade (you also have the option of making your own teams and players but this isn't very good because it takes to long and is weird). I began the game hoping it would get better but i was wrong, when i began playing the game i found it hard to control and the players movements unrealistic. When i tried the other modes the only one which (slightly) interested me was the shootout mode which i went off after a few tries. This game is definately not the best basketball sim on the N64 and EA can do... Read review

...*A review of NBA Hangtime for the PS which primarily focuses on the single-player experience.* When Acclaim and Midway had went their ways, the NBA Jam name was kept by the former, and with it saw a turnover of style to (basketball) simulation. Midway however, stuck to the two-on-two arcade action style of the original NBA Jam game for NBA Hangtime. Now to tip-off, I don't follow basketball; the N64 version of this title was the first game of the sport that I would play. Like NBA Jam, NBA Hangtime doesn't play entirely by the rules of basketball, so players (preferably those of the opposition) can be pushed over, and elbows can be used for clearing out. The moves in this game are cool - beyond the fakes, some of the slam dunks are as exaggerated as they are spectacular. And, as a pair, there will be opportunities for alley oops as well... ...Midway and GT Interactive really had a cheek bringing this out with SNES graphics and nothing at all extra from the NBA Hangtime Arcade version. The game continues the original NBA JAM's 2 on 2 gameplay. "Perfect" you might say well think again. Basketball can be boring at the best of times but this game has enough to put you off the game entirely. First of all the analogue is entirely unresponsive and you have to result to using the old D-pad. The controls are simple one button to shoot and Jump when defending. One for passing stealing when defending and a turbo run button. Not bad and pretty simple controls mean a 5 minute game with your mates is perfect. There is a Create a player option but you won't use it. All it really is is select your head. If you decide to attack the season mode and take on all 29 NBA teams it will take you... Read review

...The NBA Games have been voted best sport simulation games for the past few years, and I think NBA 2K7 will just help to establish the top slot. NBA 2K7 gives you the serious action most basketball fans love, chance to become a legend on the court and gain superstar status. NBA 2K7 has had a bit of a update, comes with different camera views and all new animations The game feels realistic and looks great when moving you man around, the controls are responsive and easy to master. The shot stick is effective when it comes to scoring (Right stick). You have to learn the different moves; you just can't dive in and start playing. The default settings are a good place to start, not to easy but not to hard. But once you have started to master the moves you will be amazed how fluid the game becomes.
