This is a crime thriller series where a group of women from different professions join up to hunt killers. The book is told from their points of view, as well as the killers, and centres mainly on Lindsay Boxer, the only woman detective in San Francisco. This book is co authored by Andrew Gross, possibly the best co author James has worked with. ...42nd Street is a bit like the Venue with seats! The club itself is to be found just off the town hall end of deansgate near the model shop. It originally opened as a gay bar being named after the gay street in New York, but it is a straight club these days. The playlist of a weekend is predominantly indie, pretty much the same list of favourites as most indie clubs in town. You can often get a pound of entrance fee if you find a relevant flyer to clutch at the door. There are hefty bouncers on the door who won't let you in if you are wearing a Footy shirt. Also, watch out if you are wearing Doc's as the doormen like to stamp on them under the pretence of checking for steel toecaps! Once you are inside, the decor is quite plush for an club of this kind. ...2nd Chance by James Patterson This is the second novel by James Patterson and co written with Andrew Gross involving the Women’s Murder Club. The first book ended with Lindsay in despair over the death of her lover and the illness that was trying to kill her. But Lindsay Boxer is back as the first Women Lieutenant of the San Francisco Homicide Squad. The novel opens with a shooting at a church in a predominantly black area of San Francisco killing a child. This is not the first killing by the serial killer but it is the first of note to the Homicide Squad. There is a killer on the loose who wants to kill black cops or those involved with black cops. ...hits the REWIND button on his lyricism by spitting a story backwards that starts from the ending. This is a refreshing skill that REWINDS Nas to his 2ND CHILDHOOD of artistic, old school rapping. The REWIND story itself is based on one, long verse. The concepts of Nas', tale revolve around a black man (i.e.'....ni**a....') being targeted by the Queensbridge lyricist himself, holding a gun. It also describes how bullets flow back into Nas' gun while the hole (i.e. wound) in the black man's chest repairs itself. This event is a reverse to the realistic effects of someone being struck with bullets and consequently becoming wounded. As Nas describes this in his own language, it's like a VCR (video casette recorder) REWINDIN a hit! This is a very creative and innovative idea invented from Nas with high quality lyricism to show for it... Read review

A year ago I had never even heard of 42nd Street, but when I started university this time last year I joined a society which was staging a production of it. In my audition I was asked if I knew the show at all and my (incredibly stupid) answer to this was “No, but I know a song called 42nd Street” which I proceeded to sing, only to be informed (rather snidely) that it was actually from the show. Yes, this is the true extent of my idiocy! This is the recording of that production – numerous other recordings of the stage version of 42nd Street exist, but this is the first and the best. Not all of the songs were written for the original film: about half are borrowed from other films of the 1930s and even the big hit, 'Lullaby of Broadway', actually comes from a different source, Gold Diggers of 1935. ...Well...off to Uni or you live in manchester and got a spare tuesday night, then pop along to 42nd street just off deansgate and you'll not go amiss. This night aimed at students is very popular because they play all types of music from the beatles to fatboy slim and even the prodigy if you ask the DJ nicely. Drinks are a very cheap 1 pound on a tuesday, YES 1 pound for most drinks and free entry before 10:30 - with a flyer :-) The location of 42nd Street is easy to find as it is just of deansgate near the bootle St Police Station so theres never any trouble - well I haven't seen any. The atmosphere is friendly and there is always a happy vibe in the club and the dress code is totally relaxed apart from jogging bottoms are not allowed but baggy combats and shirts are the order of the day for most people.
