My near death experience

Advantages: Knowing that this is not All
Disadvantages: people thinking I am a bit crazy

...On the question of whether or not I believe in life after death, I dither a bit. HOWEVER! I truly believe that there is another existence after we die. Late last year I was seriously ill in hospital, I had been there for six weeks and found out later that I was given only a 5% chance on pulling through. The hospital called my husband in Germany to get him to fly home, they thought that I was going to die before Christmas day. I had never been a very religious person before, and made mistakes along life as we probably all do(I hope), but I can tell you all now, that I was only 5% on that ward, my mind took me somewhere else. It was a place that was very strange, but comforting to know that nothing bad was going to happen to me there, and so at first I chose to stay. Near Death Experience

Advantages: Not many - it has rides that don't kill.
Disadvantages: But they come close

...War 3 to deal with! If you can go on less rides than someone else, it should cost less - not the same. Is that hard to work out? Really annoyed me. She wants to go on the roller coaster - not the teapots. Actually, no-one wants to go on the tea-pots. The rides ----------- Don't worry - I won't describe every one. To be honest, there is no need. Imagine evry second rate theme park you have ever been to and they'll be the same. In fact, literally the same. I think the lame-park brigade just pass one to the other as they get bored of them. There is the water ride, the roller coaster, the pirate ship (actually, more of a rowing boat), the kiddies things and things that spin. Check out the website, it describes most of them but in terms that I don't recognise. My original paragraph referred of the fear of death by accident, not near-death...

Jess Klein certainly Draws You Near

Advantages: Soulful and very expressive vocals, several excellent tracks
Disadvantages: Not a household name so few will have heard of her or want to take a risk on her

For your delectation and amusement, I?ve trawled through my extensive CD trove to find Jess Klein?s third solo album, 2000?s ?Draw Them Near?, a little-known but very likeable piece of Americana. Whilst she?s labelled as a folk artist, her work veers more towards the alt-country and rock genres, her strong and forthright voice supported by plenty of bold and yet sympathetic electric guitars. Death Magnificent!

Advantages: A return to form, but with better production

...album, and thinking of 'Load' and 'Re-load,' I think I may well have just pulled an 'Ah, well? so what,' face, with a slight shrug to go with it. But the bird in question (actually, it was my brother-in-law, and I think he would be quite mad to know that I referred to him as a bird, so I will drop that), said it was a return to the old stuff, allegedly. ...Metallica Death Magnetic: 11 Tracks Heavy Metal Released 12/09/2008 In my honest oppinion this is an amazing album, ive not been a fan long but i have heard all of their albums they are simply an amazing band. When i first listened to this album i wasnt so sure how i felt but it grew on me now i listen to it quite a few times a day. Death Ship, it's no Ghost Ship

Advantages: Good idea
Disadvantages: Badly executed

...The Film Death Ship is a 1980 horror film that opens on the sea with an old ship storming across the waves. It?s seemingly controlled by ghosts and a German voice is heard over the intercom. At the same time on an apparently near by cruise liner a party is going on. The captain of the ship (George Kennedy) is just about to retire and hand over control to Marshall his second in command played by Richard Crenna. The two ships are apparently on a collision course but this is really badly created in the film as whenever you see the old haunted ship its daylight but whenever you see the cruise liner is in pitch darkness. The two ships have clearly been filmed at two different times of day and it?s such an obvious mistake that the audience can?t miss. Anyway, the ships crash and the cruise liner is seen to suffer a lot of damage...

...As a child I have always been fascinated by stories of people with near death experiences. They tell of stories of seeing a light and dead friends and relatives guiding them to the light. Many religions tell us the same. There is life after death. The concept of heaven and hell. That cruel people will definitely be punished for their sins in the after life. Many of us feel the need to believe this. We need to. How else are we to keep our sanity? However, I am not here to discuss religion. What I would like to bring up is the matter of near death experiences. Could this not be the hypoxic brain playing tricks on itself? The Art of Death

Advantages: Good second half, some interesting details
Disadvantages: Clunky plot, a bit meandering

...halfway through it was much better. The main character is Adelia - "The Mistress of the Art of Death" - i.e a forensic pathologist. Her struggle to conceal her profession is quite prominent in the plot as female doctors were unusual in the twelfth century. She is helping Simon of Naples discover the killer through the clues left on the bodies of the victims. I found this quite interesting although I'm not sure how realistic it would be in the twelfth century. The plot does wander a bit as it is so concerned with Adelia and her origins and training. The character of Rowley (the King's so-called tax inspector) is ok but the romance seems to have been thrown in as a bit of an afterthought and didn't add anything to the story for me. Mansur and Gyltha offered some light relief as the servants as did Gyltha's grandson Ulf. Simon of Naples was...
