Before considering splashing out on this product it is essential one thinks about whether they are buying it for the right reasons, the resolution of the 2070SB will continue to please gamers and will provide an excellent screen for home use too, but it is a lot of money, and, as stated, there are decent £200 to £300 monitors out there....

Best Screen Thing

Advantages: Resolution, Auto-Setup, Response Time, Price
Disadvantages: Doesn't generate as much heat so study is colder!

Of not breaking my back when trying to adjust it's 35Kg weight to a slightly more comfortable viewing angle. I had to get and LCD. And obviously I did - an NEC MultiSync 2070VX to be precise. Bearing in mind the screen I'd been using for the last 5 years had been 21" at a resolution of 1600x1200 the bar was pretty much set - anything less would be a significant backward step. With a single-minded purpose, I set about scouring the interweb for an LCD screen that would provide 1600x1200 resolution at a decent screen size. There is a reasonable range of choices here, with prices starting at about £300 and proceeding to upwards of £600. Nec = Never Even Consider it!

Advantages: Video camera and calling capability, good compared to other phones available
Disadvantages: Very big and bulky, a pain to use, generally not very good

Ideal for NEC Halls

Advantages: Great location for NEC, Large beds
Disadvantages: Restaurant small and very busy

...I used this hotel when visiting the Caravan and Boat Show in the NEC Halls and also the next day a different hall for the France exhibition. It is conveninetly located as you drive past all the halls to get to it. It would be an approx 15 minute walk from the hotel to the main halls and apparently there is a shorter route that can be taken but when I was there this was blocked up or a 2 minute trip in the car. The hotel has been extended in the last year and is very popular so it's advised to book in advance. This hotel frequently has offers on the room rates, so it's worth keeping an eye out for. The staff are very polite and friendly as soon as you walk in, checking in was very quick and efficient. Review of NEC MultiSpin ND-1300A

Jump to LCD with NEC

Advantages: Bright & clear display. Fast update times. Great for photo editing and games!
Disadvantages: Expensive. Fiddly 'stick' control on front panel.

The second thing I learnt is that there are four main types of LCD panel: - TN + Film - IPS (superceded by Super IPS, or S-IPS) - MVA - PVA I shan't go into the details - suffice to say that if you wish to read more about them, then a quick Google for "Types of LCD panel" will return most of the information you could require. To cut a long story short though, S-IPS is the preferred type of display for photo editing because of it's wide viewing angle. Before I finally get onto the device itself, it's worth mentioning the last piece of advice that I found, which settled me upon this monitor. Apparently, the best monitors are Eizo. The NEC is a winner

Advantages: Really cheap multi function phone
Disadvantages: the 3 network, no MP3 ringtone

...I wanted a flip phone with bluetooth, built in QUALITY camera, GPS and I wanted it cheap. I checked reviews on a whole stack of flip phones and they were mainly out of my price range or on such expensive contracts there was no way I could afford them by the month. Others had some oft repeated operation problems that made me concerned as to thier useability. I found the NEC as an offer for £30 a month, one year contract with the first 10 months free...yes 10 months of a one year contract free. I worked out with this deal I would get all my calls and texts for a year for £60 PLUS the flip phone of my dreams. I read every review I could find on this phone and found none detailing anything other than sulking ex-Nokia users or folk moaning about the battery life.
