...~Introduction~ I have had the Nec e606 for about three months now. I previously had the Motorola a835, which decided to break so I needed to replace it. The problem is that I have a contract with 3 Mobile; I think you will all sigh at that, and that means that I can only put my sim card in a 3 Mobile telephone. As if that?s not bad enough, it has to be a contract and not a pre pay phone. This is probably about the most bearable phone available on the 3 network, so I decided to purchase one on the cheap from eBay. The phone itself was released when 3 mobile first came into being. NEC = Not Exactly Clever

Advantages: Ipod-cool looks, bright screen, large buttons, long battery life
Disadvantages: No features, weak camera, poor menu selection and options

Advantages: unbelivably sexy and beautiful, wonderful internet and video / music

Life after Nokia - with the NEC 338

Advantages: Modern technology, amount of software and number of devices.
Disadvantages: No protective case.

I used ZiPhone to unlock mine from AT&T in the US for use in Ireland. Out of the box the iPhone is intruative (It has to be as a Manual is not included in the box). The box included a small quick start guide, a headset and the various connectors. Set up with iTune is a breeze even for a newbie. The Home Screen on the iPhone differs from most WIndows based Smart devices as a simple press closes the running program down. I own a HTC Touch aswell and found it much easier to upgrade and customise than the iPhone. Unlike the equally slim and more expensive rivals, the Nec N343i is still relatively rare in the mobile world - I haven't seen another person with one yet. Less than a 5 pence piece in thickness, the Nec also benefits from a lightweight design, flashed up with a real metal backplate. This is all well and good if you want the phone to show off, partly the reason I bought it, however as a tool for communication it is awful. The Nec suffers from a serious lack of volume. With a speaker at the back it is essential that you place the nec on its front if you are to hear anything (and I mean anything - cover the speaker up with your thumb and you get nothing). Brilliant Little Simple Phone!

Advantages: Small, Thin, Sexy, iPodish!
Disadvantages: Basic!

...very stylish and also acts as a torch when dark! The screen is only 65,000 colours compared to the brand new phones that are 252,000 but its good enough. Its VERY easy to use, the keypad feels brilliant and very sturdy. Texting is easy, it has MMS and SMS. I bought my phone off the O2 website for £35!!! BRAND NEW! That was an unbelievable deal and I know that Argos were doing it for around £40. The reason why it is so cheap is because it is simple (but not too simple) and it is made by NEC. There are no worries about NEC the build quality is fine. I read reviews before I bought it that said the phone freezez and crashes, but it doesn't! Or at least it hasn't for me yet. When I got it everybody loved it because it was something different than the boring normal phones that are around now, it isnt a flip-phone because I got annoyed...

Large phone - pain in the NEC?

Advantages: Lots of goodies, takes Sony memory stick duo for added storage and putting MP3's on the phone
Disadvantages: Not handbag sized

...I bought this phone a few weeks ago as my motorola had died, and it was a bargain £35 with £15 worth of credit included plus loads of free goodies (20 mins free video call time and 20 free mini movies). Ok I thought, its a bit long but very thin and light but does have the bonus of video and camera included. I rushed home with it all excited and unpacked it,as he I did my hubby (who is not very subtle with his views I have to add) walked in and wet himself laughing when he saw it, and called it a brick!!! And I had not got the rest of it out yet the package contained the brick (as hubby called it) two batteries,charger and a manual the size of a bible. The manual is very good and if you could see it you can understand the size of it, it is very clear and you can understand everything as it takes you step by step through...
